skinsdomination09
Capital Weather Gang is saying this is a bust and we'll get nothing. they're absolutely right. why? why not. this winter sucks. and the horrible truth is that aint changing lol Ill say a good 1-2 inches for the metro area. 3-4 south
d0ublestr0ker0ll
You might be right, but I wouldn't crap the bed just yet. The long range models that are playing spoiler right now tend to get a little shabby the closer the storm gets. The NAM is better close range, and I'm not just being a wishcaster here. Could get 0, but I definitely remember the GFS and EURO being very wrong over the past couple years. In discussions about this storm, people are telling me to really take the models seriously tonight. That's because they've been known to completely whiff on storms that are more than 48 hours out... Wrong Direction
NAM gives Roanoke/Blackburg a foot. So, south of DC metro area primarily? I'm traveling tomorrow morning to Deep Creek lake. Just trying to figure out if I'm getting into a mess here.
richard saunders
18ZGFS has a tight gradient of DC proper most likely getting 1-2" and as close as Dale City getting 3-6"
d0ublestr0ker0ll
It's time to start looking forward to the 00z runs. The 18z runs don't have as much information as the 00z runs. Check back around 7pm.

d0ublestr0ker0ll
My bad, 0z NAM is at 9:15pm. Other, lesser-known models starting running at 7pm, and I'm seeing anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of snow for the DC area.

d0ublestr0ker0ll
how could you make a mistake like that Weather forecasting and mistakes go hand in hand Since Homercles is MIA, and since Snow Hogan worked so well, how 'bout a little Snow Hogan amp-up before the 0z NAM run? LEMMEH TELL YA SOMETHIN BROTHER, THIS SNOW BROTHER, IT'S GONNA COME, WHETHER MACHO MAN, OR MS. ELIZABETH WANT IT TO COME OR NOT. YA SEE BROTHER, ALL THE SNOW-A-MANIACS ARE STARVING DUDE. THEY WANT THIS STORM AS MUCH AS I DO BROTHER, SO THERE'S ONLY ONE QUESTION LEFT TO BE ANSWERED MAN. AND THAT IS WHATCHA GONNA DOOOO, WHEN THIS STORM RUNS WILD ON YOU!!!!? ixcuincle
Go away storm Spare us please Although I have nothing to do Sunday and Monday and my classes aren't until Tuesday, really don't want to brush snow or frozen ice crap off the car
Springfield
I'm no expert but everything that I'm reading says this storm is highly likely to be a bust. Very little precipitation, possibly even rain. The hope (for snow lovers) is that because of the nature of the system, there are a lot of things that the models can't track which could lead to a decent bit of snow. As I understand it, we in the metro area are more likely to get nothing than any measurable snow at all.
d0ublestr0ker0ll
Wow, just wow, 0z NAM is a HUGE whiff, even central VA gets much less than previously forecast Still subject to change, but it's time to start drinkin'.
skinsdomination09
bad winters stay bad. I have 2" snow this winter (thats being VERY generous) and I know that won't change. Time for Spring.
d0ublestr0ker0ll
GFS also puts the storm way south of us, although not as much as the NAM. Should still keep an eye on this storm, but hope is starting to fade real fast.

d0ublestr0ker0ll
Storm has shifted a bit north, they're giving all of Maryland some snow now, albeit 1-4 inches generally speaking.
skinsdomination09
yea I totally agreeif we get another 2" before this winter is over I'll take 20 viagra and remove my genitilia with a weedwacker, feeding it to hungry leeches. Im confident. In other news my genitalia will not be severed after this weekend. If anyone in the state of maryland recieves over an inch, you are blessed. P.S - GFS = bone dry for MD. skinsdomination09
Does being slightly northwest help at all (Loudoun) or does it hurt in this case? North is not good with this storm. In Loudon you probly have a shot of around an inch but I definetely wouldn't bet on more. Anyone see Justin Burk? Calling for 4+ for the area. And Tony Pann? 3-6" for Baltimore 6+ south these guys are making crazy predictions with 0 support, but either would be awesome (both of BWAL) ---------- Post added February-18th-2012 at 03:41 PM ---------- NAM and ETA give DC between 4-6" of powder. I'm still not buying in but its a hell of a good sign for you snow lovers. don't count on it.
