ThePreciating
It was so much fun watching them break it down in the corner of the end zone. I guess it was partially to distract us from how bad the team was, but it was still fun. Are they ever coming back? Is there going to be ANY mid-game entertainment? ---------- Post added September-14th-2011 at 02:56 PM ---------- Forgot to include a frame of reference:

IONTOP
Landry, OJ, Wilson, Hall? Moss, Armstrong, Hightower, Grossman? Yeah that's the Funky 4 I want to see
SonnyandSam
Oh what a bunch of fuddy duds. I enjoyed them. I knew 3 of them. I thought it brought some local flavor. The problem is the Skins overexposed them. And at least 2 retired from the band.
cschupp
Anything is better than watching a FedEx commercial on the big screen during a TV timeout.
hail2skins
Anything is better than watching a FedEx commercial on the big screen during a TV timeout. Which unfortunately is what the Funky Four became. A good idea that became horrible due to Team Snyder to the point where the guys wouldn't even make it to the chorus of the Wild Cherry song. Maybe if the Skins make a playoff run and get an NFC Championship Game at home, we can bring back the funky dudes! And in the category of "things seem less annoying when the Skins win" department, the commercials at the game seemed less intrusive. By cutting Casey Rabach, the Redskins not only upgraded at center, but more importantly ended subjecting their fans to those commercials with Casey and Mike Sellers in the truck. DButz65
Soooo glad they are no more! It got really stale over time...when they first started showcasing them it was cool...but they never did anything different except for a commercial here and there

Mr. Sinister
I remember FOX capturing them all dancing with SuperSkin when we were laying the smackdown on the Cowboys back in '05. That's the only meaningful memory that I have of them...

Gracelander
Always hated when they came out. Also couldn't stand it when they stopped dancing and Mark Kessler would say "Now That's Funky".. ughhh

dockeryfan
I thought they were fun, but it got a bit old. I think two of those guys retired from the band. That kind of stuff is what makes going to games a bit more special than just watching it on tv. For me anyway. I know it's really about the game, but the experience really used to bring people back to the stadium. The days of bringing a thermos of hot chocolate and hoagies to eat while watching the pregame...those days are gone.
Fieldy
Glad I'm not the only one who found them somewhat annoying. It would've been cool if they danced to different songs, or got into some kind of "halftime hijinx" or did something even mildly entertaining. TimmySmith
I the band they were fun. As soon as Danny whored them out they were ruined. Usually the stupid Fedex commercial took so long that they never got to dance.
E33Green
This thread has been rated "F" For FUNKY! I loved the F4, and actually started a thread in the past about bringing them back too. Apparently they were also victims of getting screwed by Snyder, not sure of the full story though.

Lombardi's_kid_brother
You know, I read about them, but I had never seen their picture. I think the dude second from the left was one of the actors who played Lionel Jefferson. Why did no one tell me they were 60 years old? That's awesome. pissondallas
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I have never booed louder than when these clowns came out. They always came at the worst time of a close game when everyone should be focused on the game.
greenspandan
haha i enjoyed them. the shtick did get old after a while because the only change was adding a commercial to the beginning that ended up sort of ruining their (aging) routine anyway. it'd be fun to see them come out on rare occasions for old time's sake! (minus the commercial)

They always came at the worst time of a close game when everyone should be focused on the game. What are you talking about? They came out during the long TV break between the third and fourth quarter. There is nothing for the fans to do during that time. Hell, the teams weren't even on the field. They were on the sidelines with the coaches. It did not affect any fan's attention to the game. Stop rewriting history. If you didn't like the fun diversion....fine. But let's not make stuff up that wasn't true.
