Maybe in the movies, nit in real life. The problem is that nice guys are usually boring. If the choice is between bad or boring, bad looks pretty good. This is key. Tweedr01 Posted May 5, 2011 Share Posted May 5, 2011 I'm not tall (5'10) and I love playing basketball and soccer. If the option for tall was 6'10-7'2 I'd take tall and ugly. Much less competition to play college and pro ball. lolBeing tall and good at sports doesn't mean you can fight. Go to a typical MMA gym and count the guys 5'8 and shorter. this is truth, I'd think the only advantage would be reach and sometimes easier to get a triangle. realistically though, that mat area isn't very big so the reach only helps so much, and submissions are easy on someone with long legs/arms. sorry, continue. Pick6 Posted May 5, 2011 Share Posted May 5, 2011 A lot of actors are like 5'9" and below. It is all about proportions. With that said I have seen some tall, goofy looking dudes with hot girlfriends. It is what it is. Take how you are and work with it. I am 6' even and for me it seems that most clothes fit on me perfect. I can even buy suits off the rack and they fit perfect. I honestly dont care about how tall a girl is since I'm 6'5......but I'd prefer taller so I dont look like such a freak walking around with a girl who is 4'11. The average American male is between 5-9 and 6-0. I'm 5'9. My boyfriend is maybe 5'8 1/2. I wouldn't be able to be with a guy that was 5'6, no matter how good looking he was. Tall is better for ME, personally, but I don't see why short girls like really tall guys- a 5'5 girl with a 5'9 guy gives him 4 inches. That's plenty of a differential. I'm 5-9. I have short legs, so everyone doesn't believe I'm 5-9. I lost 2 inches of height due to a birth defect in my aorta that wasn't giving proper blood supply to my legs. My wife is 5-7.
