Maryland came within a whisker of playing in the ACC Championship Game. It’s such a crock to reward/penalize teams because of fan support. Imagine the NFL telling a team, “well, we realize you’re 10-6 and the other team is 9-7, but we’re going to put them in the playoffs because they sold out every home game.” I realize it’s apples and oranges, but it’s still BS. Maryland is not a team that’s going to compete for a national championship anytime soon, so the quality of bowl game they reach means everything to them. RFK sat 55,000 for the Redskins, but with the removal of the endzone seats, I think the place now sits around 41,000 for Football.
