While it'll be hard to replace Beal, the team shouldn't go into the crapper like they would without Wall. Martell is going to have to come up big for us. He's going to have to find his range from 3 like last year or we're going to have a drop off. Beal was automatic from 3. He was shooting .439 from three as opposed to .407 from the field and he made almost 3 a game.

Do you remember if it was a knee injury?

Wall's stress fracture in his knee took like four or five months to heal...

Beal's was in his lower leg.

The "new" injury is in his upper leg.

Ok, what guards have been lighting up the d-league? We could use a buy-low scoring guard and try to catch some lighting in a bottle for a few weeks. Probably not realistic but it can't hurt to try. I mean, it feels like we have 3 or so true guards and 693 SG/SF/PF hybrid type players

The concern with Beal's injury, for me, is that the kid is fragile.  He's young and getting a lot of these stress/over use injuries.  This is his second in a little over one season in the NBA.  Last year he also battled ankle injuries and bumps and bruises associated to his amazing ability to land flat on his back after driving to the rim.  If you think about how he plays he really doesn't take a lot of punishment, it's not like he's playing DWade style shooting guard.  Remember what Kobe's game looked like early in his career?  He was at the rim constantly.  Beal has been much more of a finesse player and he's piling up the injuries.

Hopefully this is just bad luck and he manages to avoid missing time regularly.
