The wake up call was going to come at some point. We all knew it. But thats not going to stop them from talking anyway. Thats a DC sports fan for you; Ignorant and disloyal.

The real issue is that Wall coming back doesnt fix out biggest areas of concern. The front court and the in game coaching. He wont fix that. And we aint winning **** until we do. Hell, if he comes back and everyone else is gassed we might not even make it to the second round.

I think they have been a better team without John Wall. That doesn't mean that they wouldn't be even better if they kept doing what they've done better once Wall returns. Still, the record and the team play suggests that they were better without John Wall. Maybe they grew passive and overleaned on him. Maybe John tried to hard to do what he could not, but in terms of assists, rebounds, record, and overall play the team improved.

I hope they can take the lessons learned and apply it because talentwise, the team needs John. Teamwise, John needs the better team.

And to think some "fans" actually believed this team was better without John....

And some "fans" almost seem to want the team to fail without Wall...  both kinds are strange.

It's like people forgot how bad this team looked earlier this season with John Wall against an easy schedule.  Like you say, we're better with Wall (if he's healthy) but the issues run deeper than that.

Scheduling loss

It was.  They played another team 23 hours earlier.  On the road.  We've got another one coming up Tuesday/Wednesday.  They ****ed us with this stupid ass post-break schedule.  I especially enjoyed the 5 games in 7 nights culminating in Golden State bit of idiocy they gave us.  Then we get random three and four day breaks that we don't need just so we can look forward to four more back to backs before the end of the season.

Maybe the team is hearing that Wall is coming back soon and is, like, depressed.

Depressed is too strong a word.  I think they're just worried that John isn't going to accept that this is now Ramon Sessions team.  Time will tell.

If the team can't defend a simple handoff, it doesn't matter HOW John Wall looks when he comes back. It is inexcusable for a guard to make a pass, cut, get a handoff from a big, and have an uncontested layup or simple pass for a layup. That is literally all Miami did to blow us out. No complicated offense, no crazy double screen to get DWade loose, no pick and roll even.  Just a basic HS play that has been run since the beginning of basketball. Pass the ball to the elbow, make an I cut towards the corner, take a handoff and at the elbow and MAGICALLY the lane is wide open. The rare time someone fills the lane, a simple bounce pass to the low post is a dunk or layup.

Miami scored more points off that single play than the Wiz did in the entire game. That is an embarrassment for a high school team.

Same thing happened on the other end.  Spoelstra must have watched the film from the last Pacer game because he was sending doubles at the ball handler at or above the three line.  High school teams know how to recognize and react to traps at half court, and NBA pteams shouldn't have any trouble passing out of a double teams 30 feet from the rim that they expect and see coming.  Not once did this defense result in a wide open basket, which is what you'd expect to happen to any team attempting to run it for extended periods of time.

Brooks wasn't known for being an X's and O's kind of coach but this is ridiculous.  If he actually has to direct his team on how to defend or attack something within the context of a game, he doesn't seem able to do it.
