Did Mahinmi get hurt in the New Orleans game?

Not seeing anything in google about it when sorted by last 24 hours, so if he is, they haven't made it official yet.  Don't think he's on injury report, either, so I don't get it.

The Wizards are inexplicably bad at dealing with teams that double the ball.   Same thing the Pacers did to us.  That sort of defense should result in wide open shots.  It's a high risk defense you normally only see when a team needs a turnover.  The Wizards can not figure out how to move to create passing lanes when they see it, they just keep running the same stuff and never adjust.

The effect of not having John imo.

Our guys move into doubles and they make them easy by setting half-assed screens and Beal doesn't see over the top of them well.

They're not scared of anyone else dribbling.

And you're right, we don't fade open when the double leaves a guy open.  It's like they have no clue how to create a passing lane.

You don't need an excellent point guard to deal with double teams.  We're talking about NBA players here, not 5th graders.  Just don't dribble into them, pass the ball away from them early, and move to create passing lanes.

This.

"Everyone eats" is nice but you still need someone who can handle the ball/beat people off the dribble.

Right, but who in this league is asking guys to beat aggressive doubles off the dribble?  No one.  Even Lebron passes out of that.  Golden State will get an open shot almost instantly if you send aggressive double high against any of their players.

We need Wall to deal with a defense that's switching everything and denying penetration.  We have no one that can bust that and force a rotation or over help.  Plus, he's just a flat out better player than Sato.  Efficiency is nice but sometimes you need to create and make a tough shot.  Sato isn't the guy for those situation and Wall is the best one we have.  You need players like that in the playoffs.

Tonight's failure is just bad offense (coaching).  The Wizards don't know how to react and because they don't, expect to see a lot more of it.

The team is ****ing lazy too.  Keef can't be bothered to set a screen or move his feet to get open afterwards.  He has no pick and roll or pick and fade game whatsoever even though he's a strong-bodied jump shooter.  Gortat doesn't move either and brings almost nothing to the table most nights.  The PnR game that John sets up for him is his only offensive utility now and he can only do one positive thing on defense.  Scott doesn't set screens and he moves his man into the ball handler or a teammate spotting up on the wing way too often.  He's a gunner whose only really looking for his shot and his value is entirely dependent on whether or not it's falling that night.

Our big man play is ****ing atrocious.  Seven out of 10 games, the group gets crushed.

Keef's effort tonight was dog****.  On both ends of the court.  That guy is not a starter for a championship caliber team.  He's talented but he doesn't want to play basketball 25 nights a season.

This team has no vigor or unselfishness in the frontcourt without Mahinmi.  Mahinmi is a worker who plays team ball.  But he can't play above the rim, and he can't stop fouling.

The only priority we should be focusing on this offseason is getting a legit young big.  Then we can finally deal Gortat and turn the ****ing page on this dead ass big man era.

Forgot to mention that Keef's team defense is a death sentence for a switching system.  He is such an easy point of failure to exploit.  He simply does not move his feet and he doesn't dial in and anticipate ball and player movement.

We need two new starting bigs.
