Thinking Skins
I don't know if I believe this or not, but this is just a cool video. I'm not about to go outside and try to run on a lake or anything, but this just looks cool. Here's the video. http://squatrx.blogspot.com/2010/05/walking-on-water.html Apparently, its like skipping rocks. What do you think?
Thinking Skins
Honestly, I think I'm gonna try to submit this to history.com's mythbusters. I'm just curious about the (possible) science of this. EDIT: I mean Discovery Channel.
Burgold
Heck, I walk on water every winter. Sometimes, I slip. It's really no big deal.
rincewind
The comments are hinting that the video is fake and just a clever ad for the shoes. If that is fake, I really don't see how they did it.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
I don't even need to watch the vid to know it's fake.
Thinking Skins
I see the comments on the shoes, and its a good way to go Viral, but really? The Shoes. I'll be so mad if thats all it is. I think its fake, but I'd like to see how they did it.

Thinking Skins
Apparently. WUSA 9 here in DC actually did a story on this a few weeks back. But it seems to be a fake ad for shoes. Funny stuff nonetheless. http://www.mediaite.com/online/great-moments-in-journalism-local-news-team-duped-by-walking-on-water-hoax/
Bonez3
wow- How gullable can you be. It's actually hysterical though. However, you can see they all take same path on the water and end in similar spot. Pretty funny stuff.

However, you can see they all take same path on the water and end in similar spot. Pretty funny stuff. You've got to get outside your little comfortable box. You've gotta take a chance on the wild side. What if somebody had really invented a time machine out of a Delorian? You can't just dismiss it without at least enjoying the fantasy for a while. mistertim
Jesus and an Angel can walk on water.<no embedding> :pfft: So was Jesus just a really good magician who also taught people stuff? I mean...I dunno, back then I bet if you pulled a rabbit out of a hat or were even really good at sleight of hand most people would possibly automatically assume you were either a god or a demon. lol

It makes it seem too trivial. Like this guy has some "gift". The first one was more believable because they made it like skipping rocks. What I noticed was that nobody walked in front of or behind him, so I'm guessing there was a clear walkway or something that was allowing him to cross with no problem. Thinking Skins
The girl swims right underneath him. There are people in front of him and behind him throughout. nah, they're all at angles. Nobody is ever DIRECTLY in front of him or DIRECTLY behind him. That leads me to believe that he's walking on something.
Kosher Ham
nah, they're all at angles. Nobody is ever DIRECTLY in front of him or DIRECTLY behind him. That leads me to believe that he's walking on something. Surely it's an illusion. But who is to say that the previous ones weren't also. I have seen water turned to beer. Thinking Skins
See, the thing about this video (the one I posted) isn't any belief that its true. Its moreso the question of how fast you'd "theoretically" need to be running (and spinning) in order to "run" on water in the same manner that rocks skip on water. The Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_skipping) on skipping rocks says that rocks should be thrown at an angle of 20 degrees and 25 mph with 14 rotations per second to skip 38 times. Clearly, these guys weren't approaching those numbers, but they weren't skipping 38 times either.
CRogersGuy
The girl swims right underneath him. There are people in front of him and behind him throughout. No way you actually believe he is walking on water. At least the shoe advert was somewhat believable.
Kosher Ham
Of course I dont believe it. Do you believe they cut people in half ? It's a trick. But it's cool.
DButz65
They showed how that was done on some show I saw..its just clear plexiglass boxes on legs of some sort, so that they could swim under him nah, they're all at angles. Nobody is ever DIRECTLY in front of him or DIRECTLY behind him. That leads me to believe that he's walking on something.
