Ok since its the offseason, this seems like it would be something fun until we have real football to talk about. Let's see what ES thinks about the QBs in the league. Rank them and of course we'll discuss how right or how wrong (more than likely how wrong :silly:) your rankings are. If this goes well we can do this for all the skill positions.

1. Peyton Manning

2. Drew Brees

I think he'll have a decent year. He has some weapons on offense to work with.

They should probably state then if this is a ranking of the QB's as of right now or just their upside. Im sure Kolb will be a serviceable starter in the league at some point but you can't rank him that high at this very moment.

These are my rankings haha. I'm not saying these are right or wrong. Just want to see who everyone thinks the best and worst QBs are.

Haha. I feel like a jerk now. I thought the original rankings were from an article. I should probably learn to read, my bad. I guess I just disagree with your rankings but its all good

Top Echelon.

1. Manning, P.

2. Brady.

3. Brees.

Top Echelon, but a whinny ass attention seeking whore coming to an end ..... Please Lord let this sideshow be coming to end.

4. Favre.

Most likely to break into that top echelon first.

5. Rodgers.

6. Rivers.

The next bracket down on the edge of joining the elite.

7. Roethlesberger. (I guess his rings would be a fair call for him to be higher.).

8. Romo sits to pee.

9. McNabb.

10. Palmer.

11. Cutler.

Good QB's I could live with.

12. Manning, E.

13. Ryan.

14. Schaub.

15. Flacco.

The dregs of the league I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

16. Hasselbeck. (Maybe not a "dreg", but little upside left.).

17. Orton.

18. Moore. (One to keep an eye on.).

19. Campbell. (Although having endured his negativity and continued, basic mistakes for the past 4 years, he could well be placed dead last.).

20. Smith.

21. Cassel.

22. Sanchez.

23. Stafford.

24. Gerrard.

25. Young.

26. Delhomme.

27. Leinhart.

28. Edwards.

29. Freeman.

30. Henne.

31. Kolb.

32. Bradford- Last by virtue of never so much as taking a snap in a pro game. When he does, he'll be travelling the road to elite status before too many years are passed IMHO.

Hail.

Actually I surprised Gerrard,Roethlesberger is rated this high in the article below.

Point No. 3: When it comes to being a long-ball passing threat, both Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are slipping.

During their spectacular careers, both quarterbacks have been respected for their ability to air it out deep against opposing defenses. But last year, out of the 11 quarterbacks who attempted at least 50 passes that traveled at least 21 air yards before reaching their targets, Manning and Brady -- along with Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco -- were among the least successful.

Over the course of Manning's career, he's completed 35.5% of those long passes. But in 2009, he completed just 18 out of 63 attempts (28.6%) -- third-worst among the 11 quarterbacks and his lowest success rate since his rookie season in 1998 (20.6%). What's most alarming about Manning's completion rate is that it's on the heels of a 2008 season where he completed just 31.3% of those passes after seven consecutive seasons of completing no worse than 36% to as high as 43% of those throws.

Meanwhile, Brady's 2009 results were even worse. He completed just 23.4% of his long-ball attempts (15-64) -- the lowest percentage of the 11 players. While he's posted a a career success rate of 29.2%, his 2009 result was his second-worst performance behind his 15.8% back in 2002. Prior to his season-ending knee injury in 2008, Brady connected on 43% of his long-ball attempts in 2007 and 35% in 2006.

By far, the most successful quarterback in this category last year was the New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees, who completed 29 of 56 attempts (51.8%) for 1,119 yards and 11 touchdowns. Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (45.5%) was second while the Jaguars' David Garrard (40.4%) was third.

I'm not interested in mucking around at the bottom and I have something else to work on, but I think Drew Brees has elevated himself above Manning.

For one, Brees has amassed some impressive records himself, withstood some changes and injuries to his offensive line and just out-dueled Manning in the biggest game of the year by playing smarter and throwing more accurately. Brees can also throw to practically anyone and though Shockey is a good player, he's not had him also, whereas Clark is a great option for Manning at TE.

If you look at Brees career, statistics and achievements since he came to New Orleans, I think you have to at least strongly consider, especially since he's known for his ability to shred defenses and is highly cerebral and preternaturally accurate, that he is the better QB between the two.

Just because one guy has a name and has done it longer doesn't make him the best.

I have to put Brees in first.
