So I am on NFL.com, and I see they have an article of a re-do draft for the 2010 draft. I go to our pick, and I see this...

 

4. Washington Redskins 
Pick: Trent Williams 
Do-over: Jason Pierre-Paul 
Comment: It's hard to express dissatisfaction with a two-time Pro Bowler, but the Redskins would certainly welcome a freakish pass rusher like Pierre-Paul on a defense that's struggled in recent years

 

 

 

I'm sorry, but Bucky Brooks lost all his credibility when he wrote this. First of all, let's not even mention the fact that JPP is dealing with some back injuries. Secondly, Trent Williams is easily a top 5 LT who some would say is #1. There is no way I am trading that for a pass rusher, who has only had more than 7 sacks in one yer once, and who also's, in my opinion, benefited from having other great pass rushers around him.

If the bigger helmets are better for player safety (concussions) why are they not mandatory!??

I think they should cover them with bubble wrap. (I mean, the outside).

Just think how the TV audience would enjoy the sound, when they hike the ball.

I wonder what the deal is with Scott McCloughlin. He seems to be a GREAT evaluator of talent, He had a big hand in building the 49ers and did a great job in Seattle but keeps leaving teams for family reasons.

I had a thot. Why doesn't the combine last two weeks with the first having players in shorts and t shirts and the second week all the players do the same drills wearing full pads.

It's hard enough getting them all to do it once lol. One injury can sink your draft stock and literally cost you millions out of the gate.

Or why don't they just do the drills in pads and helmets and NOT in shorts and t shirts, since there's really no extra benefit to seeing them do it without pads and helmet.

 

 

 

Here's my random thought.  Just because you're stubborn and refuse to listen to someone's argument, and you repeat yourself over and over saying the same thing, and you refuse to actually state anything new, instead spewing random facts and arguing that those stats are more important and more relevant than whatever stat another poster gives, just because you say so, does not make you right.  It just makes you annoying.

 

Not singling anyone out, I've just noticed it happening more and more often and it's driving me crazy.  We used to have actual discussions on the board, not just people blowing **** out of their ***** because they want to be right.

As the draft approaches, I'm reflecting on previous drafts.

And one thing that I figure is really likely to happen, (since it almost always happens), is . . .

Somewhere on Day 3, the Redskins are gonna draft some guy that nobody's heard of.

Three minutes later, somebody will post a YouTube link to some highlights.

And a dozen people (including me) will get a Man Crush.

I know it will happen to me. I'll look at those highlights, and I'll say "well, he sure looks good at (something), and we could really use that".

Typically, the object of my Man Crush never even sees the field. Sometimes, he doesn't even make the final roster.

Although sometimes there are spectacular exceptions. One of my late round man crushes was AlMo. I remember when must of ES opinion on him was "wasted pick. We're set at RB. Won't even make the roster", and my opinion was "well, he does seem to like hitting people. MAYBE he becomes a short yardage specialist. MAYBE even improves our red zone scoring percentage".

Any way. Here's to man crush season.

I'm so ready for the preseason to start and all the buzz that goes with it.

 

I'm stuck at work tonight and our data managment system is down....so I'm scrolling through these pages and there isn't much to interest me (just my opinion, no slight to anyone).

 

I need more threads like Coach KDawg or even when GHH stepped out of his comfort zone and posted a heck of a thread.  Those interest me to no end.  I'll probably re-read some of Coach's tonight.

 

other random thot:  Our offense SHOULD be devastating.  Here's hoping.
