O'Reilly on MJ

Some solid points by O'Reilly :puke: but I think he is wrong for criticizing how MJ chose to spend his money. He kept talking about being American. Well, MJ was known for donating a lot to charities. Its American to work hard, make a lot of money, and indulge. Isn't donating money a socialist act, something O'Reilly would never want to be a part of!?

I wonder how people would react if someone had posted a thread referring to Ed McMahon as one of the great white icons of our era?

I agree with O'reilly for the most part, but he clearly was avoiding the guy's point insinuating that he was a hypocrite.

I just think Hill was trying to bring up something that really didn't have anything to do with what they were talking about

i edited and put up the full video

Thanks.

Bill O'Reilly could not be more narrow minded.

I think Bill made some good points about MJ not being normal.

But MJ was a successful Black entertainer whose music broke racial barriers during a time that there was still racial tension. So I do think he deserves some recognition in that regards.

HOWEVER, I don't think MJ was a model for African Americans or any type of civil rights leader like Jackie Robinson.

The argument that sticks out the most for me is the one about MJ disfiguring himself to become more white, and the fact that his kids came from a white man. O'Reilly asks Hill why the black community calls MJ an African American idol despite this, and Hill really cannot answer this question succinctly. "Because we are a loyal people"....?

I thought Hills point about Falwell was the only thing he said that actually made sense. I watched it last night and it seemed like O'Reily just kinda blew it off. Oh well it's what I've come to expect from Billy O. To bad because he's a smart guy.

Obviously MJ has a lot of psychological issues...

O'Reilly is just a racist white guy, nothing more, nothing less. While every doctor who knews Jacskon says he had to bleach his skin because he had vitiligo(like the doctor who was on Larry King Live tonight. Yes, Jackson's dermatologist said that TONIGHT.), O'Reilly repeats the nonsense that he bleached himself because he hated himself.

Let's face it. O'Reilly is just pandering to his WHITE audience--most of whom are conservative. Now, being conservative itself doesn't make you racist. However, his audience happens to be mostly old people--you know, guys who dream about segregation. Probably 90% of people who watch him are Whites. Fox news is a white channel.

Lots of conservatives love to make fun of anything race related.

Anytime there is someone black or minority involved, frigging Fox news has to pounce to criticize that person because no other channel does it. I don't support Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton either, but they'll be the first ones who'll be criticizing whatever actions they take. That's what the white audience like to hear. Heavy criticism of anything black or minority-related.

I agree. But the same can be said about the other end. Just like the two people mentioned calling the Senator a racist. That was ridiculous as well.

I think it's ridiculous for people on the right like O'Reilly and Rep. King to get all culture warrior-ish over the MJ stuff. Who gives a ****? Let them have their friggin' funeral and be done with it. What's a dead man going to do to them?
You are infringing on their God-given right to milk a situation for all its worth.:silly:

hmm, who sounds like more of a bigot here? you, or O'Reilly?

It's not medically possible for that condition to affect the entire body anyway. Jackson would be a fascination to science if it really was a disease that changed his skin.

Jackson never said that the condition affected his entire body.

Supposedly he bleached his body to even up the skin tone.
