skinsfan93
Listening to 980 and Doc Walker interviewing Snyder, Cerrato and Zorn, apparently the Skins have just about signed a new right tackle. They wouldn't mention who because his name isn't on the contract yet but does anyone know who this may be? I wonder if the player is significant since they wouldn't mention the name or just another camp fodder.

Oldskool
Can we clear cap room by cutting Jansen? Jansen would cost us cap space to cut. This hasn't been leaked yet, so i'm thinking that this is some schmoe that is camp fodder.

DRSmith
April 24, 2009 Using the flawed corollary of if the season started today, Jon Jansen probably would be the starting right tackle. But today is yesterday in NFL terms, and the Redskins have not hid the fact that they would like to upgrade over Jansen. The problem is that the team really has no one in place that it likes as a starter-grade replacement. Stephon Heyer won the job out of training camp, with Jansen on the bench, but lost the job when he got hurt. Jansen got back into the starting lineup and had some good moments but wasn’t as forceful and effective as the team would have liked. Jansen told PFW at the end of the season that he’d like to consider himself the starter, but that doesn’t appear to jibe with the team’s thinking. Even if there is no natural solution through the draft or Heyer doesn’t improve, it should shock no one if the Redskins try to find a veteran who could take over that spot. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/NFC/NFC+East/Washington/WWHI/2009/wwhi042409.htm

skinsfan93
It's Jon Runyan. :evilg: Not sure if you are joking or not but I wouldn't be against signing Runyan. I know he's old and in fact 3 years older than Jansen but the guy is durable. In fact, I don't think he has missed a game in the last few years or so.
