SIXX99
Larry Fitzgerald is a completley unstoppable force, we are all aware of that and I think that our underachieving rookie Devin Thomas, yes you read correctly DEVIN THOMAS, could become the type of reciever that Larry Fitzgerald is. Fitzgerald is about an inch or less taller than Thomas, they weigh exactly the same. They have a similar muscle and body build. Sure it will take a lot for Thomas to raise his game to that level, but it isn't hard to imagine that Devin Thomas could become the type of elite reciever that Larry Fitzgerald is. Higgs44
:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh: How bout Thomas learn how to run the correct routes first... something Fitzy is an absolute master at.
Thinking Skins
Actually, this is the thought that was going through my mind last night. In his draft profile, Thomas was compared favorably to Fitzgerald. If that can work out, then I will be highly pleased. But I'd even settle for Thomas being a Roddy White or Greg Jennings. CrypticVillain
mwhahahaha. I don't know though but aint Fitzgerald like 6'5". He might be as fast as Fitz but he can't get up like Larry Fitz. Edit: Man Larry Fitz is only 6'3" Oh well in that case maybe he can be Larry Fitz.
fire3fighter4
He'll be good, and a very solid player for us if Zorn eer lets him play and his attitude isn't as big as a problem as some articles have made him out to be. But he will never be as good as Larry Fitzgerald...Don't get your hopes up.
The Full Monty
lol, Thinking Skins. I'd even settle for a Randy Moss... Just kidding, if Thomas could be a Greg Jennings (who was also a 2nd rounder) that would be great.
Passizle
Yeah... Devin might be able to be the next Fitz... if he was better, and actually cared about playing football. Right now, Thomas is more like Leinhart.
Neophyte
The problem with this idea right now is attitude. Sure, Thomas and Fitzgerald are similar physically. Where they are not similar is between the ears. I just don't know that Thomas will ever want to work hard enough to get to where Fitzgerald is. The other thing I am not sure about is Thomas's hands. Granted, I don't watch the Cards every week but I don't remember the last time I saw Fitzgerald drop a ball he touched with both hands, regardless of how tough that catch might have been. I can think of several that, while not "easy" were not circus catches either, that Thomas dropped. Fitzgerald has fly paper for hands and right now Thomas does not. HailSkinz1
Based on what? That DT is one inch shorter than Fitz? Fitz is on his way to a Hall of Fame career. Let's have DT start a few more games and actually make some catches before we drool all over him and compare him to Fitz. Hail, H

Lombardi's_kid_brother
Fitzgerald was one of the greatest receivers in college football history. He had 58 catches and 8 TDs as a rookie on a bad team. He's now the best receiver in the NFL. So far, in Devin Thomas' career, he had a nice junior season in college and a pretty good run on a reverse.

Dick Edds
Fitz was a pro-bowler from day one and a future HOF'er as long as he stays relatively healthy ... other than their physical characteristics I see no comparison whatsoever.
Larry Brown #43
I was thinking he'd become the next Jerry Rice. Oh well, I guess the next Larry Fitzgerald will do. :whoknows:
Pounds
So far' date=' in Devin Thomas' career, he had a nice junior season in college and a pretty good run on a reverse.[/quote']Exactly. Right now, even drawing this comparison is an insult to Larry Fitzgerald and unfair to Devin Thomas's talents. Likely, Devin will never approach the heights that Fitz has already enjoyed. More than that, there is no reason to believe that Thomas's skills will ever fully materialize; it takes great work ethic to be a Larry Fitzgerald, a trait Thomas has yet to demonstrate. Probos
Seriously -- if Devin Thomas can become a solid, serviceable, above average receiver in the vein of an Amani Toomer or Mark Clayton (50-60 catches) the Skins will be lucky.
Die Hard
How can you argue with that logic? Apparently, in the eyes of Redskins fans.... we should have sent 16 starters to the Pro Bowl. So isn't it any wonder why we've pencilled in all our players into the Hall of Fame? I mean... we had a thread earlier this week stating Jason Campbell could make the Hall of Fame. Why stop there... let's compare Devin Thomas to Larry Fitzgerald. In my mind.... Redskins fans are becoming comparable to Cowboys fans in their idiocy and homerism. SkinsNumberOne
One of the biggest problems with our fanbase is how much we overrate our players. It's unfortunate that our ownership does that on a consistent basis as well.
McD5
Agreed. I believe after one good season in college against weak opponents, that he is probably the next Jerry Rice. I also believe that JC is the next Elway.
