skinsfan07
Surpassed his previous 6 runs of 20+ yards as a Redskins that he achieved in the entire 05 season by having 2 runs of 20+ yards today. He already has 8 this season breaking his own record for most 20+ yard runs in his Redskins career. Just thought that was interesting. Oh and the most 20+ yard runs he's had in his career..........13 in 03. Here's to him breaking that record this season too!!!!!!! And holding that MVP trophy at the end of the season! w00t!!!! http://www.nfl.com/players/clintonportis/careerstats?id=POR792942

Larry
Nice catch. For the Lions game, he should have a field day. Hopefully, for the Lion's game, he sits down at halftime. Next game after the Lions is Steelers.
cyfar
CP is on fire this year. I honestly expected to see this type of year from him when we brouht Saunders in. While he's been a solid player for us for years, this amazing start has been a bit of a pleasant surprise. Keep it up Dr. Do Itch Big!

H-O-G
Just so you know, Portis also had 6 runs for 40+ yards in 03, and honestly Portis is doing amazing but I just don't see him breaking off 40+ yard runs to the endzone making safties miss

I was one of the ones that thought he lost that shiftiness and burst of speed that he displayed earlier in his carreer but in the past couple of weeks he's gotten progressively better. Honestly! Ten 20+ yard runs are way better than One 40+ yard run IMO. Let him keep getting these 20-30 yard gains. They are changing the game and IMO are better. Go CP! skinsfan07
Another interesting fact....... Today Portis had 15 carries for 75 yards in the first half averaging 5 ypc...... In the second half he had 12 carries for 100 yards averaging 8.3 ypc and 1 TD. He clearly is a back that gets better as the game goes on. That's refreshing to see. #21Taylor4Ever
The sad thing is, there are some people who still dont think CP's the best RB in the NFL. CP just looks unstoppable right now. I mean if Shawn Rogers can't stop you, who can??

SonnyJ
I dunno about you, but I get the feeling that he's slowly building up and will break one soon. I was one of the ones that thought he lost that shiftiness and burst of speed that he displayed earlier in his carreer but in the past couple of weeks he's gotten progressively better. You and me both. He had some serious explosion getting upfield yesterday. It's just a matter of time until he breaks one. I think earlier in the season he was a little tentative in busting through the line, as he hasn't had a whole lot of running room for the last 4 years and he may have been looking around for some defender bearing down on him. Now, I think he is trusting everyone to be blocked and is just decisively exploding through the holes. That's probably what happened on that fumble - he assumed the CB was blocked and out of the play and didn't protect the ball from that side. Here is another fact: McD5 is awfully quiet these days BOOOOMMMMM!!! A direct hit on McD5!!!!! You'll notice that his alter ego, SnyderMustGo, has become very scarce around here, too. Funny how when the record improves, posters like this disappear.

Veretax
I'm not sold that he is the Best back in the NFL, However, he certainly is performing at a top 2 or 3 Level this year. And before anyone comes after me for that comment realize, that great backs have to build their career over the years. CP has done well the last year and a half though so it certainly is looking good for him maybe ending his career as a top carrier.
