Aston
Ok but does he know how to punt?Or play Hail Mary defense?
Walking Deadman
So how quickly will the Redskins have Alexander jerseys for sale?

zCommander
Always been soft. Big #s were a product of a stellar offensive line/system. Bye bye Hutchison, bye bye Shaun Alexander appearing to be good. Vet min or not....NO! So you are saying we have horrible O-Line then????
emor09
i actually change my philosophy Zorn knows him well...if Zorn wants him, ill take him
BillyKilmer
A lot of the posters here are familiar with the WCO, and what the Skins have done the last 6 weeks, does that make them potential starters on offense? nor does it make them experts in choosing free agents signees
SkinsMaster88
I'm not surprised if the Betts' injury could last to a month. Remember, both Zorn and Stump Mitchell (RB coach) have worked with Alexander for his entire career in Seattle. He did win the MVP award after the 2005 season, but he hasn't been the same back since. I think he'd want more than vet. min, in which case, I would pass.
fuji869
So how quickly will the Redskins have Alexander jerseys for sale? To funny, maybe I should order one if he signs and show it to my Seahawk Co Workers on Casual Fridays.
[[ghost]]
I doubt he'll be anything more than just an emergency option. He certainly won't be ready to play until the Detroit game. And really, he did excel in this kind of system. It can't be too bad.
ceviker
If he understand he is the #2 and is not splitting carries and when Betts comes back, he's #3, I'm ok with it. And if he comes cheap.

He might want more than the vet minimum, but he should take it. It's either that or he's still sitting at home trying to find a job. Edit: Plus with Stump and Zorn being here, I don't think he'd ***** about money.

Grimm
I really hope this doesn't happen, if he had anything left, he would be with a team already.

I'm sure they will probably sign him to only a 1 year deal, for probably vet min . What's good is that (well HOPEFULLY) he comes here and wants to show that he can still play, and hope for another team to pick him up next year. Or he can just mooch a Superbowl ring off the redskins this year... Right? Right? Just being hopeful
L30L
Steve Hutchinson made Alexander's career. I guess Ladell's injury must be bad to get to this point.
rellascout
For the right number he would be great.... no long term deal but incentives....
SkipJackSkin
If the price is right? Hell yeah. You guys are jumping to conclusions way too fast. Completely agreed. Why would it be a problem? He would be a good backup.
NeueRedskinWelle
What better backup running back than a proven starting running back? Old or not I'd take him. Anyone remember him embarrassing our team a couple years back
rellascout
TJ Duckett Part Deux We gave up picks for TJ and then never used him.... we are not giving up anything to bring in Alexander. If he sucks you cut him when Betts can play. There is no downside to this..... unless he is a cancer in the locker room.
letzgoterps
There's a reason he's not on a team right now - he's old and washed up. We have Rock for a reason. If they don't think he's a good number 3 running back incase someone got hurt, then imo they made a TREMENDOUS mistake in letting Mason go and he should have gotten Rock's spot. Larry Brown #43
i actually change my philosophyZorn knows him well...if Zorn wants him, ill take him This is how I feel. No one knows him better than Zorn & Stump Mitchell. For the league minimum, there's no harm. It's a risk-free move. Decent posiible upside, without any risk. Jofizz
This is no different than picking up Keenan McCardell last season. Shaun is just a higher profile name. I'll be shocked if we offer anything more than an incentive based one year deal.
