USS Redskins
Finally! Maybe back towards $75 or $50 per barrel by the end of the year? Gas Prices are down but not quite on par with the drop in oil - hopefully thats next. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080912180129.q17mk87c&show_article=
Forehead
Unlikely just yet...if Ike shuts down a refinery in the gulf, our gas prices are going to spike again, though it will be temporary.
jpillian
Wow -- that's pretty cool. I imagine it's just a short term fluctuation, and not indicative of a long term trend (oil always returns to its ceiling). It certainly would be nice if it continued to go down, though. Jumbo
Good deal. I hate paying more than $100 for an oil dip. Even if the throw in sprinkles.

Kentucky Gov. Beshear declares state of emergency to prevent price gouging, reports of fights breaking out at stations Kentucky's governor has signed an order declaring a state of emergency and invoking the state's anti-price gouging law as Hurricane Ike bears down on the Texas coast. Gov. Steve Beshear signed the order on Friday, saying gas stations started raising fuel prices overnight before the storm made landfall. Jumbo
Don't Alaskans still get free oil dips ... when they swim in Puget Sound? No No No. You get your oil dips gratis up on the No. Slope. Most Alaskans get free Chili Dips swimming in Cook Inlet. In the Seattle area you can get a Geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck) Dip swimming in Puget Sound. Those can be scary if you've ever ssen a geoduck.
twa
Unlikely just yet...if Ike shuts down a refinery in the gulf, our gas prices are going to spike again, though it will be temporary. They are already shutting many down, it is unlikely that significant damage will occur to them from a class three hurricane, unless the storm surge is well above average. There will be a loss of production for a short while of course. Hopefully the idiots won't blow them up restarting.
Destino
The closer the US moves to making alternatives a priority instead of a side bet, the lower the price will go. Saudi Arabia saw the writing on the wall. If Obama wins the price of oil will tumble as oil producers scramble to price out any alternative before it can begin laying plans for distribution. Well, the information I posted in the Hurricane Thread indicates that they are anticipating record storm surge, and damage to refineries. http://www.extremeskins.com/showpost.php?p=5526977&postcount=

gray
Talk about price gouging already...3.61/gal @ 8 am has went to 4.00/gal by 12 pm.(Sparta,NC) I am in Galax, VA and some stations have went up .50 from this morning to lunch and the gas stations are covered up with people trying to get gas. Rumrunner6900
Ok...I was just told gas shot up to over 4 dollars a gallon here in Radford overnight. It was around 3.50 What the ****?????? The price of a barrel goes down and gas prices go up in ANTICIPATION of a hurricane....something doesnt add up
DCsportsfan53
Well, the information I posted in the Hurricane Thread indicates that they are anticipating record storm surge, and damage to refineries.http://www.extremeskins.com/showpost.php?p=5526977&postcount=841 That's ****ing awesome. Oil price by the barrel is falling, but prices aren't coming down to match. However, a hurricane is on the way that's predicted to possibly damage refineries and they RAISE prices drastically before the ****er even touches down. Priceless.
