Tour of Duty
I'm not a whiskey connoisseur and would like to expand my palate. Right now my favorites are Crown Royal Cask No 16 (when I can afford it) or Jameson. Both on the rocks. I used to drink alot of Jack, Regular, Gentlemans, single barrel I'm looking for something outside of their line. Any suggestions? What are your favorites? HOF44
Bookers, Blantons, American Spirit just off the top of my head.
Tour of Duty
Whats wrong with Jack & Jim? You demand too much! There's nothing wrong with them but I generally just drink those with mixers and to get smashed. Call me a ***** but I cant handle Jack or Jim straight. Tour of Duty
Maker's Mark. I actually just had some Maker's this weekend but they were shots and I was already pretty drunk. It was pretty good. I definately want to try it again, sober, and as a proper drink.
Drakkhim
Heaven Hill! The low grade is $6 a liter. Can't beat it.

MintHillSkinsFan
Bookers, Blantons, American Spirit just off the top of my head. Second on the Bookers and Blantons. And the third B is for Baker's. You can't go wrong with any of these. Watch out for the Bookers though, it's typically in the 120 proof range but smooth enough to drink on the rocks. HOF44
For Bourbon, Wild Turkey Rare Breed is some good stuff American Spirit is a slightly more expensive whiskey made by Wild Turkey. It's a little smoother than Rare Breed, and Rare Breed is excellent.

CounterTrey
For scotch nothing like Johnnie Walker... I don't burbon much but if you like Single malt in the purist form Glenlivet is great.. Sorry but burbon don't hold Jack to good Scotch...
jrockster21
Second the Knob Creek, Maker's and Booker's. All great bourbons. Jim Beam is a great bourbon for mixing, but pretty low-end for drinking straight. Jack is a great whiskey for mixing as well as taking shots. d0ublestr0ker0ll
For Bourbon, Wild Turkey Rare Breed is some good stuff Alright, that's it, we gotta watch some MMA together when you're in town. My father's favorite stuff is Wild Turkey Rare Breed, he fed that stuff to me as a baby. That's why I like fighting! I just saw him for the first time in a few months. The man quit smoking, started exercising again, but a bottle of Wild Turkey was half full on the kitchen counter. That's his ba ba.
Xameil
Tellamore Dew. Very good Irish Whiskey. Alot smoother then Jameson.
RedlightG20
Dewar's is pretty solid, but really you can't go wrong with any of the top-shelf single malts. Although Jack is great, I've found that Old Granddad is excellent with coke. Lately I've been on a cheap whiskey binge, sticking with Evan Williams. Tour of Duty
I have a really strong feeling this is going to be a drunk weekend. I'm going to buy a few recommended bottles tonight and start trying them out tomorrow during the game through Sunday. Nothing better than football and alcohol. All I need is to get laid and it'll be the perfect weekend.
Temple
Fifth-ing the Maker's Mark, third-ing the Knob Creek, and adding my own :2cents: to the discussion: Eagle Rare single barrel 10 year. It's decently cheap (about $27.00 for a liter,) a little spicy (though not as spicy as, say, MM,) and has way more character than your standard issue Jim or Jack. Delightful on the rocks. Anybody else ever have Eagle Rare? What'd you think??
Dance04
do you consider "rye" as whiskey? Rye is canadian whiskey. If yes, then I recommend Canadian Club

And it's plastic so you can drop it and have a good laugh instead of literally crying from a bottle breaking.
