Hooper
http://video1.washingtontimes.com/redskins/ D-line hire [David Elfin] An NFL source said that John Palermo, who coached at Notre Dame in 1988-89 when Redskins executive vice president Vinny Cerrato was the recruiting coordinator, will be hired as Washington's defensive line coach, filling the void created by Greg Blache's promotion to defensive coordinator last month. Palermo, now at the University of Miami, has coached in bowls in 17 of his 27 seasons. He coached Big Ten Defensive Players of the Year Erasmus James and Wendell Bryant at Wisconsin and Lombardi Trophy winner Chris Zorich, later a Redskin, at Notre Dame. Duckus
This team is going to be Vinny's play toy, with a yes boy head coach.
Aston
Miami finished 40th in Rushing Defense, 33rd in Scoring Defense. Not bad. Not really good, either, but this is the least of our concerns right now haha.
ntotoro
You can't make up this stuff. Maybe I should have said "hi" to Vinny when I saw him at Panera last year. I could have gotten a job as the QB Coach or at least Quality Control.

TheLongshot
From when he left Wisconsin... http://wisconsin.scout.com/2/467409.html Palermo is regarded as one of the best defensive assistant coaches in the nation and is a respected recruiter with ties to the East Coast. His pupils at Wisconsin have included All-Americans Tarek Saleh, Tom Burke, Wendell Bryant and Erasmus James. Among the players he recruited for UW were Anttaj Hawthorne and current freshman Matt Shaughnessy. Jason

Riggins Seventy Chip
That's our future Defensive Coordinator then. Wasn't there a story about the guy they interviewed for the DC line coach, how that was Blache's "right-hand man?"
bobzmuda
It's telling that they hired Vinny's boy over Blache's boy for this position.
GSF
They can't figure out what the hell to do about theHC position, so they just keep hiring assistants! Ugh.
