My terrible experience at FedEx Field. What about Yours?

IF you can't afford to go to the games, then I suggest sit your arse at home and cheer for your team. Being an NFL fan much less a Redskins fan is a very expensive hobby. I'm sure you made the decision to take metro because you didn't want to pay $80-100 for parking pass. At the same token, if you get a parking pass, you don't have to worry about $8 water & $10 chicken strips. You can bring your own food and eat and drink to your hearts content before and after the game for a minimal cost.

Like the other guy said, quit complaining and deal with it.

Stop crying like a little girl.

#1 Concession stands at every stadium for every sport I have ever been to close BEFORE the game is over. The fact that someone working there helped you was def a bonus.

#2 Like everyone has said they do inventory of the cups and as crappy as it sounds they gotta charge no matter what kind of liquid is in the cup.

#3 Take your skirt off and drink some beer. It does a body good and is so good when it hits your lips.

I hope Redskins ownership will see this post and will do something about our experience at FedEx field. And if someone can pass this thread to them - even better.

You think the Redskins' OWNERSHIP is going to help you??? Who do you think is behind charging $4 for a cup of tap water in the first place??? It's part of Snyder's 'screw the fan' strategy.

I always defended Dan Snider for rising ticket and other prices around the stadium, but enough is enough. They had signs on TV screens "Redskins love their fans". Give me a break! Those signs should say "Redskins ownership loves to take our fans' money any way we can".

Water is the most abundant source on the planet, yet people charge money for it. Snyder would charge money for the oxygen consumed by fans at FedEx if he had the power to do so.

Botttom line, I will always support my team, the players and coaches, but not the ownership. That is unless they do something to change my mind...

That's the problem...Snyder has the most loyal (and rich) fanbase in the NFL, and won't change a thing as long as FedEx is sold out every week.

Same exact thing happened to me on opening day at the Chicago game, although the tap water only cost me $3 then. I was so angry I couldn't even think straight. I have cursed Dan Snyder's name with regularity ever since then.

That's a wise habit to get into. Too bad the other 91,000 folks at Fed Ex won't do the same.

So don't pay the 8 bucks. You're not lost in the Gobi desert. In a little while you'll be close to a 7/11.

Great minds think alike.

I can't believe the original poster didn't search for a WATER FOUNTAIN. LOL Jesus, 8 bucks, I'd have laughed at the guy and walked away. No way I pay 8 bucks for water unless I'm in the Gobi bleepin' Desert.

I want to share my experience at the game vs. Maiami. And it any of you had a bad experience, may be you can reply to this post and share it.

I hope Redskins ownership will see this post and will do something about our experience at FedEx field. And if someone can pass this thread to them - even better.

After the game vs Miami was over, we wanted to buy two bottles of Dasani water. First, we were directed from one shop to the next and on to several more because they were closing. After going throught 6-7 stands we finally found one that was still selling food. They all, btw were on the first level between sections 124-134. I asked for two bottles of Dasani water. I was told they were out of Dasani, but they would pour me two cups of tap water that they have on the soda machine. I agreed because we really did not want to go around the stadium looking for another open food stand.

When the guy passed me the water he asked me to pay $8. $4 per cup of TAP water with ice!!! I aked him why is he charging me for tap water and he said because he had to. This was unbelievable! I did paid him because my wife and I wanted a drink and we had do walk to Morgan metro stop in the heat and then ride in a metro for over an hour until we get to our car.

It is not about $8 I spent on the top of tickets that priced too high, but about providing a goof experience at the stadium to Redskins fans. May be have food stands open for another 15 minutes after the game is over, or having enought supplies/food to sell, or may be just give out tap water for FREE! I always defended Dan Snider for rising ticket and other prices around the stadium, but enough is enough. They had signs on TV screens "Redskins love their fans". Give me a break! Those signs should say "Redskins ownership loves to take our fans' money any way we can".

Please share your bad experience. Or may be share you good experience...

In all seriousness, call the Washington Post. I don't think it's legal to charge for tap water, and the Post hates Snyder's guts in the first place so you would at least have a sympathetic ear.

I don't have time to read all of the posts but a word of advice on coming to the stadium from Gaithersburg. Drive to the Landover Metro, park for free and ride the shuttle for $5 roundtrip. I did this from College Park for a year, Germantown for 2 years and now I do it from Silver Spring. Trust me, if you're not parking at the stadium, it's the best way. It's about a 45 minute drive (from Germantown so probably a little less from where you're at) and a 5-10 minute bus ride.

FED EX has run out of bottled water a few times. Often it is so hot on opening day that beer/soda is counter productive.

I would think that more money could be made if concessions stayed open 30 minutes after the game. It would be nice to see a profit & loss sheet of a Sunday afternoon for FED EX.

What do you expect, Dan Snyder isn't a billionare for no reason. Trust me, he'd probaly charge fans for breathing air inside the stadium if it was legal!!!!!!!!!!!

>> If Riggins was still playing, Snyder would probably charge people $100 to whiff off his oxygen tank while he was out on the field.
