RFKFedEx
I'm surprized the league would allow the turnstile numbers to be published considering they usually tell you the number of tix sold rather than the actual attendance when they pump their figures. Baseball does the same thing to a much greater extent. Tandler has the actual turnstile numbers published in his book "Gut Check".
Tastes Like Chicken
I just love it when the stadium announcer makes the proclamation "the largest stadium in the NFL", it gets me so dang pumped up, what are the other teams gonna do against us? How do you gameplan for that? They can't stop us, they can only hope to contain us. The largest stadium in the National Freakin' Football League, brother! Woohoo! Other teams' stadiums can fit inside our stadium! We are BIG!

We can all see just fine from our seats.

Dan T.
Isn't the new Dallas stadium supposed to be bigger? Almost 70 thousand for a preseason game is incredible. I disagree. It means that 25,000 SOLD tickets went unused. Of course, regular season should be a different story. Still, if, god forbid, this team loses alot this season, I would not be surprised if the no show numbers really increase. It's an important season in a lot of ways for this team. I'll watch the numbers on this thread with interest. With any luck, the Skins will win and the attendance figures will stay above 90K. . .

RFKFedEx
Only 70k people showed up for a game where 92k seats were sold, it's like the game didn't count or something. How could anyone downplay a game that had fireworks during pregame intros?
Brianbien83
And that's the downside to having a huge stadium. Tickets become too readily available, to anybody. This also has to do with folks selling some of the tix to whoever because they can't necessarily afford the whole season.
LadderCrew17
According to Dallass' website, the new stadium will seat around 80,000, but can be expanded for big events such as the Superbowl, to 100,000 seats. It will be only a matter of time when Jerry Jones decides to use 100k seats for every game. But will it have a Johnny Rockets?

Once the newness factor wears off, they won't be able to sell out and will have to give away blocks of tickets as they do now to avoid blackouts on TV. Bacon
I'm glad Dallas will soon have the biggest stadium in the NFL. It'll downplay our own extravagance and give the media more ammo when they continue to be mediocre.

xavmit
I believe the only games last year above 90K were Vikings and Cowboys and Vikings probably had to do with opening Monday Night. Vikings, 90608 Jaguars, 89450 Titans, 88550 Cowboys, 90250 Panthers, 85450 Falcons, 86436 Eagles, 84164 Giants,86,141 The above are 2006 regular season numbers

I wish our stadium was smaller so less tickets would go to the opponents fans. Wouldn't make any difference for a preseason game. People basically can't give them away. With stubhub ebay etc., there are plenty of seats available for any event regardless of the size of the stadium. A smaller stadium would result in higher prices on the secondary market, not less opposing fans. There would actually be more incentive for season ticket holders to sell their seats online because they could make huge profits on a few games. pjfootballer
If and when we get a new stadium, I'd like to see it model the Dallass stadium. Not in looks, but with the capacity. 85,000 to start and can expand to 100,000. Put it on the RFK site. That would be heaven for Redskin fans. DButz65
Out attendence at each game last year was no less than 85k i believe, from what i remember. There are always alot of no shows at preseason games , and not just for us, look at some of the games on the NFL Network, there are teams that are lucky to get 30k at preseason games.
