CrypticVillain
Part of sports is mental. You look good, you feel good, you play well. Example: The Bucs wearing those putrid orange uniforms and getting beaten down by everyone. They looked like a joke, they got taken behind the woodshed like a joke. So it had nothing to do with Tony Dungy? Naw I am just joking with you. The same could be said for the Broncos, Seattle, Bengals, Cardinals, and the Eagles. When those teams changed their jerseys, they started winning.
Lavarleap56
The Redskins are not doing any major changes to their uniforms this year. Skins uniforms will feature a different lighter more functional material and a tighter more sleek fit and cut. Seattle went all out and is breaking out a new uniform. General opinion is that the majority of NFL teams will wait until next year to make changes if they plan to do so soon. Nike came up with several designs and options for changes for every team in the league but the team decides what it wants in a uniform and has final say. ChiefPowhatan17
The Redskins should never change their uniform. Unless they wear a throwback. After all there are 4 helmets to choose from. So we don't need any newfangled modern look. They should always stay classic. They just need to get rid of shinny pants and wear the flat burgundy pants of old. Shinny and glittery has no place in football.

Looking good and feeling good is one thing. I was talking about the intimidation factor. The Falcons talked a big game and thought they looked tough, but they played like idiots. They eventually went back to their red unis albeit, a clownish looking jersey top.
HogNose
If NIKE had their way they would do what they did to the poor Broncos in 1997. Incorporating their "'Swoosh" into the uniform and making wholesale changes to each team. At least the Broncos are going back to the orange jerseys permanently this year. Anyway the last thing the Redskins need is a radical uniform change. Bring this back and never change it again. shuler74
Think they should leave it up to the players because ultimately it doesn matter what we think it matters on how the players like them..I am a firm believer if you look sharp and like it you will play sharp

HogNose
You're eyesight must not be very good. If you look at the picture you linked, those are Reebok uniforms, not Nike. Try again. NIKE designed those uniforms in 1997 when they had the contract. Yes Reebok took over but the uniforms never changed. http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=5959949 And as long as we're talking about the Broncos and Nike, consider this: When the Nike folks designed that 1997 Denver uni set, fans quickly noticed that they'd embedded a not-so-subtle calling card into the pants: giant swooshes that became visible whenever a player extended his leg forward. So when Reebok began making the Broncos' uniforms in 2001, they were put in the bizarre position of manufacturing a uni that featured a built-in ad for their biggest corporate rival (a situation that has now continued for a solid decade). It'll be interesting to see what Nike does with the swoosh stripes when they reclaim the Denver uniforms for 2012. But it seems like a safe bet that they won't be returning the favor by studding the design with built-in Reebok vectors. pjfootballer
Just like the Glanville "Too Legit to Quit" era. That's what I was talking about, when he changed the uniforms from red to black and he wore a black long leather coat and cowboy hat on the sidelines. He thought they looked intimidating, they played like crap.

JeffSchmeff
I think it would be cool to see a switch up. For all of the traditionalists wanting us to keep the current uni, you do realize the Redskins have changed their uniforms a ton of times in the 80 year history? I'm not saying I want an Oregon Ducks type change, but something new would be cool.

HogNose
So is New Era going to make an unstructured hat that is soft, comfortable and looks a little weathered? All I see are these hard flat billed hats that look like something a rapper might wear. Where are the basic redskin logo caps? grrrrr:mad: Why didn't NIKE get the hat contract? Who is going to wear this??
RawBBQSauce
Who is going to wear this?? A large portion of young males.
