Step outside tonight and be dazzled: the planet Mars will be as large as the moon in the night sky!

It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Yeah, right.

Don't believe it.

It's just not true.

But for the seventh consecutive year, the "Mars Hoax" is making the rounds on the Internet, spreading like some sort of malicious virus that infects everyone in your address book.

Here are the facts:

How are Russell Wilson and NC State going to do

Is that guy Allan Michael Cash still there

NC State has beaten UNC 3 straight years. So I don't think I would be running your mouth right now to a Pack fan. Furthermore, State isn't the one in deep **** like the Tarholes apparently are. Good luck with the likely reduction of scholarships, bro. And im pretty sure Davis will be shown the door in the not too distant future. You guys are headed for the basement of the ACC.

It's my 23rd birthday!

And I'm spending my night, in Miami, doing financial accounting reading and responding to e-mails! Woohoo!

I do have a decently strong whiskey & coke sitting next to me though.

I know you haven't been there all that long. But have you seen any famous people there yet? Lebron? JLo? Gloria Esteban? (ok she used to be). And have you had a chance to check out South Beach? The women there must be insane. So many different flavors.

I get him confused with someone else all the time.

There's only one huge UNC fan on the board that I know of, his name is like TODD or something.

Not yet.

I've seen a lot of Hispanic women that sort of look like JLo and Gloria Estefan though. Especially today at Wal-Mart. Try describing what an "ice tray" is to someone who doesn't know any English. I gave up after about 30 seconds and just found one on my own.

I haven't been to South Beach or downtown Miami at all yet, that's about 30-40 minutes from where I am even though I can see it from my room. The traffic down here is insane though so getting somewhere takes so long you just don't go.

The last time I went to South Beach (which was about 4 years ago) though, it was really wild. And that was during the middle of the afternoon. Your head is constantly turning around to take in all of the women.

I went to the beach and while I was showering the sand and stuff off at one of those beach showers, some really hot lady who was talking to me and the group I was with just took her bikini top off to keep washing off. It's like that down there.

I don't think ACW would be able to handle himself (I kid ACW).

None of it matters, anyway. Carolina and State are gonna lose to...

East Carolina, baby! :D

Kinda doubt you guys beat both of them, man.

Btw, I just looked at UNC's schedule, and it shows them playing at Miami. No big deal, I know. But for the location it reads: 'Miami Gardens, Florida'. Huh? Thought they played at the Orange Bowl. Plus they usually list their games in Coral Gables, Florida, I thought. Wierd.

I'll be interested in how ECU's defense does now that Greg Hudson, the former DC there, left to FSU to coach our LBs.

He got a lot out of relatively nothing while at ECU.

The Orange Bowl got demolished last year.

Miami Gardens is the home of Sun Life Stadium, just north of Miami.

The Hurricanes (or anyone for that matter) haven't used the Orange Bowl for a couple of years now.

Ok, thanks. Can't believe I never heard that about the Orange Bowl. I heard it was a serious dump of a stadium, anyway. And not in a good area, if I remember correctly. So the Canes are gonna be playing in the same stadium as the Dolphins, huh.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pipe dream, but it's a nice one.

I think we'll at least take care of State. We're playing them at home and they are a hated rival. We've got crazy home field advantage. :D

Carolina, though...they'll probably beat us since we play them at their place and they're a top 25 team.

Carolina has huge problems though. Its likely that they are gonna be sitting out alot of key players this year. Or at least the possibility is there. The way I understand it, if they play certain guys, and then the NCAA rules against them, then they would have to forfeit the games those certain players took part in. UNC's season could be a mess. They're not beating LSU with everyone healthy. And if a few key players sit, they have no shot. Btw, their QB is absolutely terrible.

:ols:...as I tell my wife...Don't force the issue,ya might lose

http://maggiesfarm.anotherdotcom.com/archives/15278-Saturday-Verse-A-good-Cigar-is-a-smoke....html

The Betrothed, by Kipling

"You must choose between me and your cigar."

-- Breach of Promise Case, Circa 1885

Open the old cigar-box, get me a Cuba stout,

For things are running crossways, and Maggie and I are out.

We quarrelled about Havanas -- we fought o'er a good cheroot,

And I knew she is exacting, and she says I am a brute.

Open the old cigar-box -- let me consider a space;

In the soft blue veil of the vapour musing on Maggie's face.

Maggie is pretty to look at -- Maggie's a loving lass,

But the prettiest cheeks must wrinkle, the truest of loves must pass.

There's peace in a Larranaga, there's calm in a Henry Clay;

But the best cigar in an hour is finished and thrown away --

Thrown away for another as perfect and ripe and brown --

But I could not throw away Maggie for fear o' the talk o' the town!

Maggie, my wife at fifty -- grey and dour and old --

With never another Maggie to purchase for love or gold!

And the light of Days that have Been the dark of the Days that Are,

And Love's torch stinking and stale, like the butt of a dead cigar --

The butt of a dead cigar you are bound to keep in your pocket --

With never a new one to light tho' it's charred and black to the socket!

Open the old cigar-box -- let me consider a while.

Here is a mild Manila -- there is a wifely smile.

Which is the better portion -- bondage bought with a ring,

Or a harem of dusky beauties, fifty tied in a string?

Counsellors cunning and silent -- comforters true and tried,

And never a one of the fifty to sneer at a rival bride?

Thought in the early morning, solace in time of woes,

Peace in the hush of the twilight, balm ere my eyelids close,

This will the fifty give me, asking nought in return,

With only a Suttee's passion -- to do their duty and burn.

This will the fifty give me. When they are spent and dead,

Five times other fifties shall be my servants instead.

The furrows of far-off Java, the isles of the Spanish Main,

When they hear my harem is empty will send me my brides again.

I will take no heed to their raiment, nor food for their mouths withal,

So long as the gulls are nesting, so long as the showers fall.

I will scent 'em with best vanilla, with tea will I temper their hides,

And the Moor and the Mormon shall envy who read of the tale of my brides.

For Maggie has written a letter to give me my choice between

The wee little whimpering Love and the great god Nick o' Teen.

And I have been servant of Love for barely a twelvemonth clear,

But I have been Priest of Cabanas a matter of seven year;

And the gloom of my bachelor days is flecked with the cheery light

Of stums that I burned to Friendship and Pleasure and Work and Fight.

And I turn my eyes to the future that Maggie and I must prove,

But the only light on the marshes is the Will-o'-the-Wisp of Love.

Will it see me safe through my journey or leave me bogged in the mire?

Since a puff of tobacco can cloud it, shall I follow the fitful fire?

Open the old cigar-box -- let me consider anew --

Old friends, and who is Maggie that I should abandon you?

A million surplus Maggies are willing to bear the yoke;

And a woman is only a woman, but a good Cigar is a Smoke.

Light me another Cuba -- I hold to my first-sworn vows.

If Maggie will have no rival, I'll have no Maggie for Spouse!

Just had our first scrimmage for my football team. I'm still a Varsity Assistant on game day, but my new primary role is the JV Defensive Coordinator. We run the 3-3-5 Stack at both the JV and Varsity levels. I run the exact same stuff Varsity does except I dumb it down a bit for some of my guys, as we have freshman and sophomores with us.

Defensively, our first group saw 30 plays and allowed 45 yards of offense. They had one interception, 4 sacks, and two forced fumbles. We allowed one touchdown on a 15 play drive (where it took them 15 plays to get 30 yards and they never reset the ball). In reality they would have punted three times on that "drive".

Our second string defense saw 30 plays and had a sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on a goal line stand. They allowed three touchdowns and allowed about 70 yards.

In 60 plays we allowed about 115 yards, 3 TDs and we had five sacks, 1 pick, 3 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Every drive started from the 35 yard line going in... My guess is those three TDs wouldn't have happened in an actual game situation.

But we have ALOT to clean up. Contain issues, blitz roles, what shoulders to attack, gap integrity, pass coverage, etc. But I'm damn happy with how things went today.

Whenever someone finds out we run a 3-3-5 Stack I always get odd looks. It worked pretty damned well today, but it's a long season.

Great start, but we need to get better.
