Radio should be banned along with advertising of music. People will only like music if you tell them to like it, it's the only logical reason that stuff like Ke$ha is popular. People need to start making their own damn opinions. /rant

Agreed, though NPR can stay. Top 40 stations are useless!

Interesting how rarely I see certain posters here because they are on NNT.

HH - Ugh. Sorry to hear that news. I hope for the best and sincerely believe that she will be a rockstar again in the near future.

A 16 year old freshman ? Good news is that if you go to college you will be able to buy booze by the end of Freshman year there.

Anytime Brother. Anytime.

Some of the posts in this thread make me laugh, even though the posts aren't meant to be funny. Said posts will go unquoted so that I don't get banned.

shouldn't it say "again" at the end of that post ? :evilg:

Had a jam session earlier this evening after quite a little break. All I can say is wow! I said going in that this was gonna be the best session yet. We lived up to those words. Made about 3 songs today that are better than anything we've done yet, I think. Can't wait to see where this goes.

I had a golf swing for a little while that worked. All I could say is wow! I said it was going to be a great early season. I lived up to those words. Broke about 3 rounds I've completed this season that are better than anything I've done yet, I think. Can't wait to see where this goes. :pfft: :silly:

I had a porn session today for a little while that worked. All I could say is wow! I said it was going to be a great early morning. I lived up to those words. Broke about 3 speed records I've timed this year that are better than any marathon I've done yet, I think. Can't wait to see where it goes from here, possibly girl on girl or maybe even girl on pterodactyl. :silly:

They got lucky with the baseball title. Mike Martin needs to go. He's verging on Bobby Bowden status- the old big name coach that they can't quite get the support to get rid of yet. He's awful at managing FSU's pitching rotation and even though FSU always has some of the better hitters in NCAA baseball, he makes them bunt and sacrifices outs at horrible times.

I'm in a bit of a crappy situation but it's my own fault. I screwed around too much partying my junior year of college and dug myself into a hole in school that has been really hard to climb out of. I need a 3.0 minimum GPA for most grad programs and my final GPA was like a 2.8, which normally wouldn't be that big of a deal, but so many people are going back to school and flooding schools with applications even if they don't plan to take a year off for a grad program, it fills up the applicant pool and raises a lot of schools' standards for admission. So there's nothing I can really do if I don't get in, except maybe take a few classes at the local community college in the fall to add to my GPA and bump it up a little more, and then just re-apply to schools again.

I actually almost got a job last winter with Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, but they're on a hiring freeze right now for most lower level jobs/internships, so that didn't end up going anywhere.

I could have probably hooked you with some Braves gear though, since they do their spring training there (as I'm sure you already know).

I didn't watch much of the ACC tourney this year. I'm a big college baseball fan though. Didn't know that about Martin. You just assume he's a good coach, the way the Noles have a pretty good team every year. At this point, I just hope that ANY (well ok not UNC) wins the CWS for the ACC. I think 1955 was the last time a team from the ACC won it. Wake Forest was that team. Go figure.

Sucks about your GPA. I was like that in college too. Well, I didn't party much. But I didn't take my schoolwork as serious as I should have. It affected my GPA. Luckily though, I got a good job a few months after graduating.

Yeah, I would have liked to get some nice Braves gear. Their selection of apparel at their website leaves a little to be desired. Usually I go to a game or two a year, and get some nice gear when I'm down there. But I haven't been to see them play in a couple of years. Might have to make that trip this summer. Knowing my luck, when I go, they will be back to playing like they were in April.

Rarely do I stay up all night watching movies, but it was worth it this time.

You all knew this a few years ago, but No Country for Old Men was phe-nom-e-nal.

Yeah, it was great.

Yeah? Well, I think you are dumb! ;)

The Hangover is absolutely hilarious. Watch it again, this time with your eyes open. ;)

It wasn't as good as everyone said it was. It was just ok to me. Didn't live up to the lofty expectations.

I was looking forward to this Powerball drawing and some person from Ohio won it. If it's another toothless redneck that wins, I'm gonna vomit.

Wait, aren't you the guy that never wears a shirt?

FSU has a pretty good team every year but it always criminally underachieves. They're so talented they can pile up a solid regular season record and usually compete for the ACC title, but come Super Regionals or the World Series, Martin kills them.

The last numbers I saw had him at 6-12 in Super Regional play and 17-26 in College World Series tournaments.

From an FSU fan site, some parts of the "Mike Martin Drinking Game:"

Take a drink:

-If there are two runners on with nobody out and Mike Martin calls for a bunt. (If the player at bat hits 3,4, or 5 in the lineup, take two drinks.)

-If the announcers spend at least 3 minutes talking about how a pitcher has run out of gas, and Mike Martin walks to the mound, only to return to the dugout without bringing in a reliever.

-If a closer walks the bases loaded with nobody out in a 2 run game and Martin does nothing.

-If the same closer appears to be attempting to finish the game without throwing a single fastball.

-If a right-handed pitching recruit with a 95mph fastball arrives on campus and becomes a side-armed left-handed knuckleballer.

This is really hard for me to say, but I need to get it out....

I changed my sig because my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday. I'll wear this sig in honor of her strength, courage, determination, and sense of humor until her victory is won.

"My mom has cancer. Cancer can't have my mom."

-- HH

That's a tough break, but hopefully she'll beat it soon enough. I'll keep her in my thoughts though.

Breast cancer runs in my mom's side of the family so it's definitely been a slight concern for her and her four sisters as the years have gone on.

If it makes you feel any better, my past year's been very similar. You're not alone. I've seen some really, really bad stats about the graduating class of 2009. It was one of the worst times to graduate since WWII.

Very true.

The thing is, most people I graduated with have either gone on to starting jobs (I know a lot of people who hate their current jobs, but at least it's work for right now), or they've gone off to law school/business school/etc.

I should be in grad school by now, but I wasn't sure about what exactly I wanted to do when I graduated, and I didn't set up my immediate future as well as I needed to. My situation as a whole sucks but I can't fix that, as like you said, this economy is making it horrible for young adults fresh out of college and I'm far from being the only person in this sort of situation. But I also have to take personal responsibility for shooting myself in the foot when it came to being prepared for the harsh reality of entering the "real world."

It's the pangs of regret that get me now. Especially since a huge part of the reason why my girlfriend broke up with me was because I originally told her I'd be in school by this summer, or by the fall at the latest, and I didn't have my **** together in time for that. And I couldn't argue with her on that because she was completely right.

I'll be in school by next spring at the latest though. Even if I have to take a class or two at the community college in the meantime, I don't think that would be too bad. I've been studying over there for the past month for the GMAT and there are definitely some really cute girls who take classes there.

Once they hear that I'm jobless, my bank account is barely in the triple digits, and I live with my parents, I'll have a different girl for each day of the week, I'm sure.

I could have sworn I typed this post.

I'd like to come an offer some words of wisdom, but I'm literally in the same boat (including a now ex-girlfriend, that *****)

Went from dating the girl of my dreams, who graduated Summa Cum-Laude and got a full ride to UVA law/living it up in college/planning on going to grad school/making decent money at a part time job/getting decent grades to broke, unemployed, living at home while my room mates all have secured awesome jobs.

**** this ****, I wanna go back to college.

Misery loves company.

Yeah, college was the best. I thought that I was aware at the time of how good of a thing I had going for myself, but it's not until now that I realize how truly great it was.

I always think it's funny if I hear people use the cliche "high school is the best time of your life." Really? If high school was the best time of someone's life, they missed out.

Stuggling to find a way to make photos into a video.

Every time I try Windows Movie Maker for this, it closes on me after a minute or two.

I thought I had gotten it done with Nero, but couldn't find a way to turn the slideshow into a video after I finished it.
