Probably could have gotten the whole season for free when I called, but I was getting tired of being on the phone. And this year was easier than most, for the reason you listed. Doesn't make any sense to give ST for free to new customers, when guys like myself have had ST for 12-15 years. Hell, you should have read the thread in the stadium before the season. Some guys were not only getting ST for free, they were getting all kinds of other stuff thrown in for free, too. For sure. The customer service rep was really apologetic, threw in a free DVR as well. I mean we (me and my roomates) pay $153 a month for the premium package. Have been since 2007. I knew DirecTV would not want to lose that. I'm pretty stoked, looking forward to following all my fantasy players and bets from the comfort of my own home as opposed to an uncomfortable bar stool. Especially if you don't have an HDTV already.As for fantasy: Make sure you tune to 701 before the games start and plug in your fantasy starters for Sunday. That is an AWESOME feature. Not sure how many teams you have, but you can only plug in 18 total players (that's still plenty). And btw, you guys already paying for the premium package is why she threw in the free DVR. You're right, they definitely don't want to lose a premium customer. I don't have the premium package, but still got ST for only $73.99 (total). I could have gotten it for free, and probably a free DVR as well, but I don't really like to talk on the phone. And our conversation was starting to go long. So I just excepted her offer.
