  1. Not sure it was address, and I can't remember where they were in the game but I believe it was late. He threw a pass to Gibson on the flat as he was running away from him. That was a difficult throw and he hit him in perfect stride and that was enough for Gibson to get by the defender and get the first down. I backed that play up over and over again, realizing that virtually every other QB we have had would have put that pass a few feet high/low or behind him by just a touch and that would have been just enough to cause Gibson to break stride and be tackled short. That was one of the plays that really jumped out at me by Sam Howell.
  2. Oh I think it's the best college football player for the most part. Sure it's weighted towards skill players because they are the most impactful but I think they get it right most of the time. But as we know the Heisman is a terrible barometer for NFL projections
  3. I'm not sure this applies to front office people but I've heard a ton of coaches claim they aren't leaving and then leave a month later. If I were Peters with that QB they have in place it would be crazy to turn down the Houston job.
  4. 30 minutes ago I saw this post. I just returned from taking a pee and the back of the magazine that was sitting on the tank had an ad for this exact phone with the same phone number. The magazine was AARP. I'm not kidding.
  5. The game turned out as a best case scenario. Sam played great and the team lost a meaningless game in a lost season to give the new group more draft capital. It all starts with Sam Howell. He is showing much better pocket presence, he is doing the one thing I was concerned he didn't have the feel for moving in the pocket to buy time. He also showed he has "It" with that final drive. He has shown, as we had assumed he would, that with a clean pocket he can do damage. The tying TD pass was an example of that, he dropped it in there perfectly. I have no idea why anyone would even entertain the thought that RR would be back. He isn't being evaluated on this season, he is being evaluated on all 4 seasons and the results speak for themselves. Entering the season I had no thoughts what so ever that the WR group needed an upgrade. WTF happened?????? The loss of the 2 DEs did have an impact. I know I know QBs have had a clean pocket most of the year. But there was very little pressure from the outside. I was glad to see the injury to Smith-Williams was not more serious. For a while it looked like Cheesehead had worked out his problems. Again WTF??? They should have signed Bobby Wagner 2 years ago when many of us wanted them to do this. Not sure I understand the criticism with regard to the game clock in the final 4 minutes. If they had used timeouts that meant Seattle would have had even more time. At the time of the tying TD pass they were at the 35 with a minute left and a timeout. They were in fine shape regarding the game clock. Throwing out Forbes for that hit was unbelievably bad. I have no idea what NFL officials are doing today.
  6. I guess having several glaring needs means they can fill one of those spots without reaching. Glass half full approach I am taking here because you know me, Mr. Positive. .
  7. Thank you. I have no idea how I missed the news that Clinton Portis was in jail for 6 months.
  8. What ever happened to the fraud legal issues Portis was facing?
  9. Norm had always been one of my favorite comedians. I loved it when he returned to SNL after being fired for "not being funny enough". He comes back, in his monologue he pointed that out and asked "did I suddenly get more funny? No. It's just that the show is so bad now" (paraphrasing).
  10. I'll file this under Useless Information That I Now Know
  11. It was painful but I watched most of the Bears/Panthers.. I want Chicago to lose for the pick and I watched Montez. One hurry, the rest goose eggs across the stat sheet. In 2 games he has 2 tackles, no sacks.
  12. I thought we were done here. Why bring up all of this again? I went back and reviewed our conversation. I never made it "personal" I simply made fun of your claim at your superior football knowledge. It was you who were throwing the insults with comments such as " Poor Commanders fans talking in circles trying to rationalize getting abused" etc. And I sure didn't apologize because I had nothing to apologize for. As I clearly posted if you are going to totally ignore the cap ramifications when evaluating this trade then I see no point in engaging with you on this topic.
  13. I don't see how any of these coaches return. Clean house and a totally new group of people is desperately needed. Howell went to a brand new system this last offseason, he can certainly do it again. A few months of growing pains is certainly better than retaining any of these coaches. Now if the new group decides to retain EB I'm fine with that but it should be their choice.
  14. RFK running 3rd parting and taking more Trump votes than Biden votes is my best hope.
  15. Dotson is the new 50/50. TM is the only WR that is playing well enough to be considered in the group that is "good", the others are simply average WRs by NFL standards. I too thought this group was good not great. I don't see how we can say today this is a good group of WRs. Now I'm not giving up on Dotson, he certainly has upside, but these drops simply can not continue.
  16. Dotson had 2 drops from what I remember and read. I don't know how we can say any receiver with 2 drops to go with 4 catches played well.
  17. I totally believe there are big stories behind he scene regarding Chase Young. I can't believe that would be just weed because nobody cares about that. Unless he was playing high, now that would be something.
  18. This season for me is all about Sam Howell. And each week he looks more and more like the real deal If they can ever find him a way to get him a clean pocket, like we give virtually every opposing QB, he can do real damage. The deep sideline throw under pressure to Terry on yet another 3rd and long conversion, was a special throw and we don't see too many special throws. Very happy and somewhat relieved that Forbes stepped up, but you gotta catch that pick because turnovers was why he was drafted. I've seen enough of D Brown. Dotson had more drops, what is up with guys who are supposed to be playmakers? The changes on the OL have resulted in noticeable improvement. Some of it was play calling but the protection was clearly better. Fuller has been by far the best CB this year and is having a good season. I'm in the camp that wants to lose out and give the new group the most draft capital. But I can't root for BB and we won't be picking top 5 anyway so if this win dropped them from 8 to 11 I'm OK with that.
  19. I do not see how you can explain the incumbent trailing a 4 time criminal in so many polls other than Biden is seen as a weak President. How else would you explain it? MAGA ain't nearly enough people to have that much influence on the polls We see the polls above, fair or not people hold the current President accountable when prices are up, 401s are down and 2 wars started. That's just the way it works. The Dems are in trouble, a stronger President was needed
  20. You don't think that Biden's performance is the reason he is polling so poorly? There are a ton of people who don't support Trump but will hold their nose and vote for him because they believe the country went downhill when Biden took office. If Biden was a strong President I believe Trump would have no chance. But he is not so Trump has a very good chance.
  21. Will RFK Jr run as in independent and split off Trump votes? Why can't Biden understand that he is the reason Trump is polling so well and step aside? If Trump is elected and squashes the federal cases can they resume once his term is up?
  22. This is my favorite quote, from his mother. "I was watching like everybody else on Jan. 6 as those numb-nuts climbed the walls. ... It never occurred to me that Fred would be part of this," she said. https://www.npr.org/2021/03/09/975477013/ex-trump-appointee-accused-of-assaulting-police-in-capitol-riot-danger-to-public
