There has been a lot if talk, here and on another board, about trading back into the 1st round for a LT. Some even suggesting we use next year's #1. I'm against that, if we trade picks we miss out on these types of players.

LOL. I went back and watched the YouTube of every Jayden Daniels throw and run from '23. Honestly if anyone took the time to do that I don't see how you would not want him as your QB. He does not escape trouble in the pocket the way Lamar does, but he obviously has great running ability. He throws the ball really well. I have no idea where the concerns about arm strength and inaccuracy comes from. The balls comes out so much more quickly than it does with Maye. Sure they threw a ton of short passes but very few hit the ground, he throws a spectacular deep ball. And of course he can flip the field with one big run.

Sproles was one of my all time favorite players, he was so explosive. Ekeler is similar and I've always loved him too. And like Sproles when he got to Philly I firmly believe Ekeler will be very productive for us this season.

The thing I remembered about that draft is they had a camera at the Kenny Picket household They cut to them as it went into the 2nd half of the first round and it looked like someone had died. I guess he expected to go top 10 which was nonsense, he went where he was mocked to go. That and his fake slide made him an easy guy for me to root against.

This is why so many of us question the PFF grades. We all saw Cosmi at RT, and just as was the case with Scherff it was obvious that Cosmi's best position was guard and not right tackle. You put players in the best position to succeed, there was a reason he was moved to guard, so that's where he should stay in most people's opinion.

This is the exact type of player they may miss out on if they use picks to move into Round 1 for a LT. I'd prefer they keep all their bullets and draft a lot of guys at different positions.

To me the biggest difference is the ability to escape pressure in the pocket. In today's game this is a really valuable skill. Daniels has the athletic ability to escape, if you watch the complete games with Maye he does not have that ability, clearly not at the same level as Daniels and Williams. In fact he tends to drift into sacks and IMO that is more instinct that you are born with and coaching won't help all that much.

Seeing the transitional tag is as rare as seeing a 3 second call. I always wondered why more teams didn't utilize it. -
I don't want to part with next year's first, As temping as those 2 additions would be I also don't want 2 of our best players (potentially) having their contracts up the same year.

I've always wanted to see a clip of a war room, preferably our team, and this is the first one I've seen so thanks for that. Love to see more of these. This reminds me of the way Dallas used to draft. They fell in love with guys because of how they did in drills and how they looked in their underwear and dismissed so much of what was seen on the game tape. Not running good routes, questionable hands and work ethic is enough to make me pass.

New Kickoff Rule Aims to Put Returns Back Into the Game
Darrell Green Fan replied to Dan T.'s topic in The Stadium
When I first saw the new rule I pushed back, it looked like they were turning the NFL into a clown show. But once I got past the optics I love this new rule, it adds excitement. Then I immediately thought about our new Teams coach and all the signings specifically targeting good special teams players and I think the new rule will be an advantage for us. Suddenly kick returners hold value again and it could affect who teams draft in the later rounds. -
Tracking former Redskins around the league

Not many but one is quite vocal. -

You may have felt this way at the time and have been proven right so far but a lot of this is revisionist history. He was after all the SEC OL Of The Year and that can't be ignored. That's hard to do playing for a program like Arkansas so his play must have stood out. I clearly remember (for what they are worth) several draft sites saying he was a solid center prospect.
