  1. Who exactly here is promoting not building up a strong OL, that just OK is good enough? Because I don't ever remember seeing that position, building a strong OL and how our OL is not nearly good enough is constantly discussed here. I'm glad to see the comments on Terry. I've felt for a while that both Terry and Jon Allen are so overrated by our fans. They are very good players but they are not as good as so many here believe. And we saw yesterday the difference between McLauren and AJ Brown who is actually a top tier WR.
  2. I'm not sure but I think there is a rule that something on a paper plate can not be called a masterpiece.
  3. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B3MWSYQV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details It was fantastic by the way. If you guys have not tried sous vide you have to try it. Steak was so much more tender than a grilled steak.
  4. This is literally the best explanation I have heard for a local guy who didn't go to school there has for rooting for Dook. As for this latest news this is great to read. We have been so far behind the other teams in so many areas, scouting and analytics being the most costly.
  5. Trump claims Micheal Cohen's testimony means they won the trial and the judge should end it. Will someone tell this moron that he already lost the trial, this is strictly for damages.
  6. Finally got around to buying a sous vide machine or whatever you call it. I think I'll just use a basic Food Lion steak so we can compare. With this weather it's grilling weather, although like most I grill all year.
  7. I honestly don't know what they are supposed to do. All week we will again hear how EB didn't run enough to help his young QB. But running into brick walls and giving your young QB 2nd and 9 or 3rd and 8 is not helping a young QB. What they should have done, obviously, is invest in the OL as all the fans were screaming for to help a young QB develop. It's frustrating as Hell when we appear to know more than the people who are paid to make these decisions do.
  8. This is a great point and caused me to look it up. Washington's average age is tied with the Ravens for 15th place. They are smack dab in the middle of the league. They are not a young team, they have a young QB. As you mentioned the rookie class does not even play. **** Ron Rivera and his constant excuses.
  9. If you look around the league you will notice that every team's starting running back is as good, or in most cases better, than Robinson. Same thing with Gibson vs other teams change of pace RB. The criticism, which is completely valid, is they spent 2 high 3rds on below average players when equal value could have easily been obtained in the later rounds.
  10. Just think guys this OL has been amazingly healthy this year.
  11. I went into the season feeling this way as well, it would have taken a good start to pull me back in but Ron Rivera never has good starts to the season. Now I'm officially checked out and will treat these as preseason games to get a look for the future, specifically Howell. That usually happens after Halloween. Thanks Ron Rivera. After the pic 6 was dropped I felt this was the worst NFL game I have seen all season. I watched most of it as I would a train wreck, it was so bad I just could not look away. All the comments about the weaknesses were all well known by everyone all offseason was very accurate. I definitely wanted Gonzales over Forbes, didn't like the draft after it was over but like an idiot I trusted our staff to know more than we do. As for the game Not sure what that did for my opinion of Howell. Of course he is in a bad situation but if you are a good QB you can overcome bad situations to some extent. He doesn't. His performance was meh. We all know now that some of the sacks are on him, for being "mobile" he just doesn't seem to escape well, I know for sure his footspeed is not up with so many of the other mobile QBs. He misses too many throws. But I'm pretty sure with a good OL and not a terrible one he can be productive. But is he really the long term answer? Gates and Wylie were terrible signings. Obviously the draft may go down as an all time failure. For a group on the hot seat they are about as clutch as Jahan Dotson.
  12. How were you able to watch that? The TV coverage rarely shows the coverage downfield. Which brings me to another beef. Time and again we see the QB come off a receiver, then the pressure finally gets to him after 4-5 seconds. The guy who got the sack gets all the love, the camera is on him even though he didn't really provide a great pass rush, when the guy who made the play was the guy who took away the receiver but it's rarely pointed out.
  13. I'm not asking him to be Lamar. But guys like Romo, Brady and so many others had a great feel and knew how to make small subtle moves in the pocket to avoid pressure and deliver the ball. is this something that can be learned? I'm not so sure about that.
  14. Chase has been doing that all year, doesn't seem to help. He clearly has the first quick step, it jumps off the screen, but he still gets ridden past the QB nearly every time. I'm also totally onboard with Lucas over Wylie, that is such an obvious move. As for Curl his play has clearly dropped off in his contract year, not good for him. But it was good to see such an improvement from Barton. My hope is he'll repeat last season with the Hawks where he was so poor early in the season he was benched, then the light came on and he played really well. Maybe he's slow to react because he's still learning the defense? I can't wait for the new people, who are smarter about this than we are, to decide what to do with the 2 DEs this offseason. CY will demand to be paid like a Bosa, we all see that coming. But he is the exact player who will go to another team and absolutely blow up, so there is that to consider.
  15. The fact that a team who was so inept they had to burn a timeout after a spike, a team with other unforgiveable mistakes, a team that had already turned it over several times was still in the game on their final possession was very unsettling to me. Atlanta did everything they could to give the game away but Washington could not seize the opportunity. This to me was a very concerning victory, if that can be said about a road victory. I too noticed the players jogging if the play went away from them. The starters on the DL play too many snaps, they were wearing down. I didn't see the consistent pressure others saw all game. I saw a bad QB having a clean pocket far too many times for this supposedly great DL. Chase has his first step explosion, it is evident, yet he still can't sack the QB. Commies gave up 5 sacks and we consider that an improvement. Howell simply has to improve his pocket awareness by a large margin. Why do other mobile QBs escape trouble and ours does not? Are there open receivers he is not seeing or are his receivers not getting open? On a positive note the long snapper issue appears to have been resolved and we no longer have something called Dax Milne returning punts.
  16. You stated it was the coach who made the QB great, not the other way around. I'm simply saying it is more on the player It should be clear now that the only reason Sean Payton was so well regarded was because he had Drew Brees, there are many more examples.. If it was all coaching Joe Gibbs would have made Jason Campbell into a great QB. I do believe certain players are born with NFL level skills, it's then up to the coach to maximize those skills. Obviously being a young QB in SF is a much better situation than being a young QB in Washington. But the same coaches who developed Brock Purdy couldn't turn Trey Lance into a star, or even a viable starter, because Trey Lance does not have NFL level skills and apparently Brock Purdy does.
  17. Matt Ryan was the first pick in the draft, he was already a good QB.
  18. As I stated I believe Trump will be successful in his play to delay until after the election, if he wins (which I believe is more likely than not) he will simply kill it.
  19. Because that is also a federal trial and I happen to believe Trump will win the Presidency again successfully delay and then when he wins squash it altogether.
  20. Well that's again going to happen occasionally too. But there are far more examples of coaches have totally different results without their great QBs than there are Geno Smith and Mark Rypien.
