  1. One More Day. Until Ron Rivera is shown the door and the last bad decision of Daniel Snyder's reign of terror has been scrubbed from Ashburn. Like virtually everyone who worked for Snyder it ended badly for Ron and another reputation is damaged.
  2. I am in this camp as well. If they need a vet to mentor the rookie then get a cheap vet and make him 3rd string. But if they trade Howell they will spend that late round pick on yet another young QB as most teams do and that guy probably won't be as good as Sam Howell. So that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, IMO Howell could be a really solid, cheap backup QB.
  3. This team needs upgrades all over the roster. I see in particular guards, centers, safeties, running backs and tight ends who were taken in the middle rounds be good NFL players all over the league. Which is good news for a team with so many picks as these are all need positions.
  4. Yes players may have input on picking a safety vs a tight end. But they are making a far bigger decision that will probably determine the near future of the franchise. And if management is ready to upgrade the most important position in sports they aren't going to change their minds because some players like Justin Fields.
  5. I'm in the camp that wants to retain him and see what he could do with competent coaching and protection, which I do believe will be the case next season. He certainly showed the ability to deliver the ball earlier in the season and I believe he could be a solid backup. Hell if the rookie fails with the above mentioned improvement we could see Sam as the starter again with upside, something Brisett does not have. So Ron wanting to play it close to the vest to not give the Boys an advantage lasted 5 hours?
  6. This is my take as well. We all agree he is a good man and we are all happy he beat cancer, for now anyway. But I will definitely be celebrating his departure for these reasons. Yes he was put in a difficult situation. That's what happens when you get into bed with a man like Daniel Snyder so I have zero sympathy for him for the culture he inherited. He knew who his boss was when he signed the contract. Just so tired of the excuses (we are a young team when they were league average) and all that other crap. His tenure as head of personnel may go down as the worst stretch of personnel decision we ever had under Dan Snyder. Think about that for a minute folks.
  7. In a word no Front offices do not and should not select players based on what the other players want. He has played better but if you look at his numbers during this streak they aren't winning because of Justin Fields.
  8. I saw where NO over Atlanta is key, but wouldn't a NE win over the Jets solidify the 2 spot without any other results having to go our way?
  9. I still can't believe posters are promoting JJ McCarthy as our answer for a franchise QB. He looks like Jimmy Claussen with better wheels, not an NFL franchise QB.
  10. Or even if they like Williams a bit more it probably won't be a difference enough to give up our first next year as well as good picks this season. Josh made it clear that he is thinking long term not a quick fix. Trading up in the draft is not what you do for the long haul with so many holes on this roster.
  11. Lucas had another strong game as a reserve. I don't know why they did not put him at RT, I'm going to assume a swing tackle can play both. We have talked a lot about LT and the draft but the real weakness on this team was RT, C and LG. What has not been discussed enough IMO was Ron's decision to cut Morgan Moses who has been a solid starter 35 miles to the north. What does the RT class in free agency look like?
  12. It is concerning to read this and it kind of goes against the reviews I have read from the scouts. I hope they are right. So if NE beats the Jets and we lose that's it right? We don't have to worry about the other games or is New Orleans still a big one?
  13. All of these games going our way the last 2 weeks has me pretty excited. Happy to see games next week that will really matter to us, this will be a lot of fun. Gotta hope New Orleans takes care of business at home. I never thought we'd get to 2, I was going to try to convince myself on Daniels but the guy I really want is Drake Maye because the Bears have to take Williams. If the FO prefers Daniels I'll respect their knowledge,, regardless draft day is going to be awesome.
  14. Well we now pick 4th so obviously rooting for Dallas to win was not right.
  15. Personally I hate what NIL has done to college football. It was always dominated by the same dozen programs but now the gap will be so much larger as those are the schools with the most NIL money. Unlike the NFL a Wake Forrest fan has zero belief that his team will ever compete in the college playoffs. But the one thing it does do is as you say it keeps good players in school, which is also good for the NFL.
  16. If you trade Allen for a 2nd you are not opening a huge hole on the DL
  17. I remain firmly in the Drake Maye camp, I'm just sad because I know he will end up in New England.
  18. I am pretty convinced the Bears try to end their 40 year search for a franchise QB and select Williams, I don't believe we should be discussing a player the Commanders won't be able to obtain. I'm also convinced Arizona can not afford to pass on a talent like Harrison and will pull the trigger. Pats and Commanders take Maye and Daniels, which is which TBD.
  19. I am so tired of Griffin's injury as seen as the only reason he failed. He failed because he failed to learn to play the position. I clearly remember a pic in the Post of Griffin standing in a clean pocket with 5 open receivers circled. The caption read: "Griffin took a sack on this play. I have no idea why". It had nothing to do with the injury.
  20. I read a number of profiles that questioned Daniels accuracy on short and intermediate throws, one also stated he lacks the velocity to make the tough throws. For what it's worth. I really appreciate these updates, I take a pic of my screen and reference it as I watch Red Zone. As we have found it's hard to root for bad teams because, well the results usually don't go in your favor. But we've gotten lucky these last few weeks. I still can't believe New England won in Denver.
  21. Let me rephrase my position. I want a QB who is very accurate on all throws, if he can run that's a bonus. I see Daniels' strength as his mobility. He is very accurate on deep throws, as was RGIII, but not so much on other throws and lacks the velocity to fit it into tight windows. That concerns me.
  22. I prefer Maye to Daniels, not a big fan of run first QBs. So...who are we rooting for in these last games? Niners to lose is all I can come up with.
  23. They were forced to do it based on the big contracts for the DTs but I always believed the Sweat trade will backfire. Not much chance the pick gets a better player regardless of position, FA edges are too expensive and this will be a hole for a while I'm afraid. I am not onboard with the idea of trading Terry. He is the only legit WR they have on the roster.
