  1. The victim doesn't have any accountability for getting killed, seeing as how he didn't do anything that warranted a lethal response. He didn't deserve to be killed any more than a mentally disabled person would if they were placed in the same situation. Acting strange around an officer, because of either being high or due to any other mental instability, does not warrant a lethal response. This is just another case of an officer's gross negligence causing the death of somebody who didn't need to die. Only in America, it seems. Anywhere else in the civilized world and the guy probably would have earned a baton strike and a few stitches.
  2. I didn't know that being high warranted instant execution. I was under the impression one might have to physically attack a police officer to warrant getting shot and killed. I'm sick to death of pathetic, frightened, trigger-happy cops getting away with killing people. There's no ****ing accountability for it.
  3. My guess is he was fully briefed, but was too busy watching cat videos on CollegeHumor.
  4. Can't wait for all the memes showing douchebag members of the House pounding Bud Light in celebration, after the bill gets **** on and killed in the Senate, or sent back so heavily revised that it won't pass the House again.
  5. These ****s are gutting ACA protections for everybody else, but the pricks in Congress are exempt from losing those protections? Am I understanding that correctly?
  6. Been a while since I contributed, so here goes: 1) Manchester by the Sea - 9/10: As a character study about someone going through unimaginable grief, it was superb. Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams were brilliant. There's a bit of dry comedy to break up the bleakness of it, which is good. I can see why it was nominated for best picture. 2) Hidden Figures - 9/10: This one flew under the radar for me. I really never even heard of it. It's about the prominent role of three African American NASA engineers/mathematicians during the early part of the space race, and their contributions to the agency while fighting segregation and racism. Fantastic acting, great humor, and it tells a very good story. I'd definitely recommend. 3) Assassin's Creed - 6.5/10: As far as video game adaptions go, this could have been worse. Michael Fassbender is a great actor, but the script is kind of weak, and the story is not well told and a bit convoluted. Action was solid and the visual effects were up to snuff. If you're sci-fi fan, or a fan of the game series, it's worth a watch, but don't expect to be blown away. 4) Kong Skull Island - 7.5/10: I thought it was pretty good. The visual effects were great, and the epic monsters of skull island were pretty trippy. The human characters were kind of flat and not memorable, outside of John C. Reilly, whose character is awesome. Brie Larson is eye candy, but doesn't add much to the story. Samuel L. Jackson plays the villain, and it's a bit over the top, but otherwise he does well enough. Kong is of course the main show, and he's a badass. Pretty solid watch. 5) Logan - 9/10: Phenomenal movie. It's not just a great x-men film, but a great all around movie. Hugh Jackman is superb, and the story felt incredibly real and personal. This movie isn't about globe trotting heroes that save the world. It's really a story of two men who are coming to the end of their road in a world that no longer needs them, and how they find meaning. Definitely a must-watch. 6) Rogue One: 8/10: Another great entry into the Star Wars universe. I'm not a huge Star Wars nerd, so I can't really comment about the pros and cons of how the story fits into the larger universe. From a casual fans perspective though, it told a great story, had awesome action scenes, and was well made. I think I enjoyed Episode 7 better, but this one is a worthy entry and should be seen if you're even a casual SW fan.
  7. The two cops that fired all the shots and were convicted didn't have body cameras on them. There was a third deputy who did have a body cam, didn't fire his weapon, and wasn't charged in the incident.
  8. That movie seemed pretty trippy. Glad to hear it was good. I'll check it out, though I have a backlog of movies I need to see. I still haven't seen Rogue One, or John Wick 2.
  9. It would truly be a Trump move if he and the other idiots on the hill create what's in essence a clone of Obamacare, and use that to "replace" the Democrat version. Trump could then just stamp his name and claim credit for this incredible health care bill, and win bigly. Really though, Republicans have had years to come up with either legitimate improvements to the ACA, or formulate a new system that would be even better (ah hem, single payer), and they best they could do is copy what already exists, and something they politically vilified for years?
  10. Anybody watch the new HBO show "The Young Pope"? I've been recording in on my DVR just in case it turned out to be good, but I haven't watched it yet. Worth watching?
  11. I'm on the west coast, so unless they're playing the Lakers or the Clippers, chances are I didn't get the game.
  12. Lady Liberty may disagree with you. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” How long before Trump takes some white out and replaces that inscription?
  13. You don't have to have a PS4 to get Vue. It'll work on an amazon fire TV/TV stick, as well as a few other boxes like Roku. I've been looking into this one myself. Base subscription is $40, and has like 60+ HD channels and a web-based DVR built in. It also has (in most markets) all the local channels live.
  14. Everyone's very worst nightmare......
  15. Anybody seen any Amazon originals worth watching? "Man in the High Castle", or "Vikings", etc.? Looking for new shows to watch. I've never seen Mad Men, so I'll probably start that one soon, so I'm just looking for additional options. Any other Netflix originals you guys would highly recommend?
  16. How can a bill criminalizing abortion even be presented? Abortion rights are protected by the Supreme Court, aren't they? How is that legal? I'm pretty sure you can't direct your state legislature to ignore federal and constitutional law.
  17. Yup. Fumbled 4 times dropping back to pass, and also lost two more fumbles during his rushing attempts.
  18. Griffin really proved his doubters wrong. We should sing a song about him. During the 2016 season, RG3 gave to CLE: 7 Passing turnovers 6 Yards per average 5 Games Played 4+ Sacks per Game 3 Interceptions 2 Major Injuries 1 Single Win And the worst sack percentage in the NFL.
  19. That would be one ugly offense. It would, however, be funny and entertaining to watch, as someone who both dislikes Fisher and is not a fan of RG3.
  20. Santa Maria. I just looked up Griffin's sack percentage this year. Whoa Nelly! 107 total pass attempts with 18 sacks = 16.8%. He's taken 18 sacks in 3.5 games played. If he played a full season at this rate he'd shatter the sack record taken by a QB. He also hasn't thrown a single TD in 4 games played over that span, has a 57% completion percentage, and a very bad 6.11 YPA average, second worst next to Brock Osweiller. Ugly.
  21. I was able to watch this past week, after not being able to the previous several weeks. Whatever you did was successful on my end. I know others have said it, but thanks for all your work this season FS. Much, MUCH appreciated. Being able to watch a steady, quality stream has made being a west coast Skins fan bearable. You better be here next season.
  22. Holy Santa Clause man, that's a sad "highlight" video. "Highlights" begin in the 3rd quarter is not a good sign. One of his highlights was a 2 yard run for a first down. He takes a vicious hit while throwing a 10 yard out. He scrambles after his first read isn't open, goes out of bounds, and gets almost KO'd by the kicking net. Then a couple of first read check downs. The only good play I saw was the 18 yard scramble for the TD. Otherwise, same ole RG3 that got run out of town. Ugly. If the Chargers have mailed it in, you can be sure the Browns have mailed it in, been received by it's recipient, and then sent back to the Browns out of shame. The Browns aren't going to beat the Steelers on the road in week 17, so they better do anything they can to beat the Chargers or they'll line up with the 2008 Lions in NFL infamy.
  23. Don't the police come equipped with anything that could, you know, subdue a disorderly individual without blowing him away? Something like a taser or a beanbag shotgun? Last I heard, walking toward the police with your hands in your pockets is not a capital crime. I appreciate the police can be put in a tough situation, but unless he whipped his hands out of his pockets in a sudden movement and/or suddenly pointed something at them, I still won't believe this is a situation that couldn't have been resolved without blasting him away. This is the problem with police today. They aren't trained to handle any kind of mentally unstable person. They automatically assume the use of deadly force if anything/anyone gives them a sketchy glance or doesn't immediately comply. We have a bunch of Judge Dredds out there.
