  1. Bills were in the AFC Championship game last year. That’s one team you can take off the list.
  2. Attendance is not the biggest issue with the new stadium. It's attracting year long events other than football. All the new stadiums that have opened up over the last 10-15 years all have one thing in common. All of them were retractable roof/dome stadiums with housing, restaurants and attractions built around the stadium. The goal of opening a new stadium now is to have it host not only NFL games, but Super Bowls, Final Fours and major concerts/festivals. Snyder must be pissed when he sees all the rave reviews for the Cowboys Stadium, and all the other new venues that have opened up in the past few years like the new Vikings Stadium, new Raiders Stadium and the new LA Stadium. All these new venues have either hosted a Super Bowl, or will host a Super Bowl in the next 5 years. That's what Dan cares about at the end of the day. A new venue to host all the premier events and festivals that DC misses out on often. I bet you dollars to donuts that the new venue will be a retractable roof stadium, and that we will get awarded a Super Bowl within 5 years after the new stadium opens. It's what Dan has always wanted. The new stadium will also have a 70-75K seating capacity. It fits with the other recent venues like the LA Stadium or the Vikings Stadium, where the capacity doesn't exceed 75K.
  3. What other options do they have? It's pretty clear that DC doesn't want the team back in the city, and won't play ball with Snyder and company. MD is an option, but how much better is it really? The only location in MD worth locating to is the National Harbor, but there's no Metro there, and it's right next to the WW Bridge. VA is really the only logistical area that Snyder can move the new stadium to. It's not lost on me that there's a new Republican governor, who will cater more to Snyder's wishes than if a Democratic Governor were in power. Youngkin will gladly do business with Snyder. My guess is that the new stadium will be near Route 28 in Sterling, or maybe in Ashburn closer to the team office. I think Prince William is a longshot, because there's no Metro there. At least in Sterling/Ashburn, the Silver Line will be complete within the next few years. The team is in a rush to get out of Fed-Ex before 2027. If they're working under that timeline, then they most likely need to get an agreement in place this year, and begin building the stadium next year or in 2024 at the latest. If they wait too long, we might have to extend our lease at Fed-Ex, and play at that dump beyond 2027.
  4. We have to stop this line of thinking. Heinecke is NOT going to lead us to the playoffs. He’s been figured out as a QB, not to mention that you have to limit your playbook because of his limitations. You cannot have him as the starter going into next year. He’s a backup at best. If something goes terribly wrong this offseason where we don’t draft a QB, or sign or trade a QB through free agency, then we will have had a horrific off-season, and we’ll be the worst team in the division next year. Keeping Heinecke as QB1 also puts to bed any ideas of us attracting any free agents on offense, and probably assures us of losing Terry in free agency. For us to attract any free agents as it is, we either have to overpay, or dramatically upgrade the QB position to have a chance to compete.
  5. None of that matters at the end of the day. The NFL is a results driven business. Jamin Davis is a clear example of the error of not drafting a rookie QB last offseason. He overreached in drafting Davis, who we were hoping would be our MLB, but now will most likely be moved to OLB. That's a huge reach for your 1st round pick in a draft where there were QB's that you could've traded up for. It doesn't help when our rival picked the DPOY, and he's looking to terrorize the division and the league for the next 10+ years. Ron messed up last year, and he knows it now unfortunately. He now has to rectify it by being aggressive this coming offseason.
  6. Not so fast my friend. It's not certain that Ron will be here longer than next year. He's already put himself at a pretty big disadvantage by neglecting to address the QB situation after swinging and missing on Stafford last offseason. His non-action in drafting a QB cost him big time. If he had drafted a QB last offseason, he could've afforded himself another 2 seasons after the unexpected division title. Now we're in a situation where we have an obvious need, everyone knows we have to swing for the fences to acquire a Rodgers/Wilson/Watson, and we're just outside of the top 10 in the NFL draft where a few teams will be picking ahead of us that need QB's as well. Ron HAS to try to get a QB by any means necessary this coming offseason. I think he realizes that he screwed the pooch last year by trying to win a terrible division, and giving up after not being able to acquire Stafford by trade. You can tell in his interviews recently that he knows that he's probably not going to see Year 4 of his deal if he can't get that franchise QB we so desperately need.
  7. That's not a sure thing. He will get all 5 years, provided he does something drastic at the QB position. If we stand pat, or fail to get any of the top QB's this coming draft for whatever reason, then all bets are off. In the NFL you get 3 years to prove to team management that you have a vision, a plan and most importantly a QB that you can win with and compete for a SB with. That last one is what's holding Rivera back, and could cripple him before he has a chance to prove that the culture is indeed successful. Coaches have been fired for far less. Look at what happened to the Dolphins today. Flores won 10 games, and then 9 games with Fitzpatrick and then Tua as his QB's. All Miami had to do was trade for Watson, and then they'd be a team to be reckoned with in the AFC. They were slow to pull the trigger because Flores believed in Tua when management didn't. Now Flores has been fired for that reason. Rivera has had two 7 win seasons, and won a division with a losing record. He's anything but safe unless they try to improve at QB big time. That means no more retreads or mediocre QBs'. The longer we wait to make our move like Miami did, the less enthusiastic management will be about future plans.
  8. We don't know that. He has to assume that he is in danger of being fired, if we don't do something significant in the offseason. We screwed the pooch this past offseason with FA and the Draft. We need to make major moves this offseason to put the team in the best possible position to compete for the playoffs next year and moving forward. We can't have another offseason like the last one, where you don't decide to draft a QB in a QB rich draft, and end up signing a 38 Year Old Fitzpatrick. No more treadmills at QB. We need to go all out in trying to trade for a marquee QB like Wilson Watson or Carr, or we need to get a QB in Round 1. If Ron fails to do either, and signs some mediocre scrub like Trubisky or Mariotta while failing to draft a QB in R1 again, then he is in big trouble, and he shouldn't see year 4. This is an important, pivotal offseason in more ways than one. The team has to hit it out of the park with the name announcement, sign names in FA that will improve the team and get their franchise QB. This might be the most important offseason for this team in several years. We have to act like we're not going to go staus quo, or we risk falling further behind the Cowboys, Eagles and all the other playoff teams in the NFC.
  9. Struggles at times???? You do realize his record against .500 teams right? He’s 7-35 against teams over .500 in his career, and his primetime record is 9-17, with most of those victories against scrub teams like the Bears. You do realize he just won a primetime game against the Bears a few weeks ago, where he threw for 87 yards and threw 2 INT’s, the other primetime game he won against the Steelers, he threw below 50% and singlehandly kept the Steelers in the game. Even when he wins, he still looks terrible. He’s the definition of anti-clutch.
  10. This. It all starts and ends with the QB on any football team. The fact we might finish with 7 or 8 wins with the dumpster fire we have at QB and all the injuries/COVID shows us how much we need even an above average QB, much less a Top 10 or 5 QB. Could you imagine Stafford on this team this year, or Carr? We would’ve won at least 10+ games this year, and been in contention in the NFC. We should go all out and swing for the fences this coming offseason for a QB. If Carr becomes available, then we need to do everything we can to get him. Same with Rodgers and Wilson (if they’re interested in coming here). The NFC will be a different landscape next year with potentially Rodgers and Wilson gone from their respective teams. That means that it wouldn’t take much to be a contender in the NFC with Tampa Bay, Dallas and the LA Rams. If we have Carr, we’d have a QB just as good as Stafford and Dak. I bring up Carr, because he’s been phenomenal this year with what’s gone on around him. He’s in the top 3 in yards passing, and has been extremely clutch this year when the Raiders have needed a FG or TD to win. He’s been a Top 10 QB for a while, and he’s almost like the anti-Kirk when it comes to being clutch. The team should do everything in its power to get him if the Raiders look to move on from him in the offseason.
  11. Don’t judge his play this year due to the circumstances around him. It’s not his fault that he got hurt and is playing with a bad finger. Russ is still very much a Top 10 QB in this league, and borderline Top 5 when he’s healthy and has a functioning line. I don’t even want to imagine him in the division next year with Golladay, Toney, Engram and a new HC who should be much better than the current coach. If Wilson ends up on NYG next year, then we’d be right back to being a last place team in the NFC East unless we dramatically upgrade our QB Situation. This coming offseason will be very pivotal for Rivera & company. If our division foe dramatically upgrades at QB, and we’re still twiddling our thumbs with the position, we’re in for a world of hurt, and Rivera himself will be in hot water entering year 3.
  12. Actually, sometimes the most simple answer is the correct answer. The QB is exactly why those teams are contenders, while we're as far away from contenders as a team can possibly be. The talent level between most teams is comparable when looking at rosters. What separates teams like ours from teams like theirs is QB play. Our team with a better QB would be right around where the Browns/Bengals/Chargers are, but because our QB play for years has been so porous and awful, we look like a JV Team compared to most contending teams. There's no real difference between a QB like Baker Mayfield, and a QB like Kirk Cousins. If Cousins were still here, we'd probably be a 10-12 win just by the fact that we would have a Top 11-15 QB. We'd be playing with a lead more often, and that would allow our defense to pin it's ears back and be more aggressive, instead of playing reactive when trying to keep a deficit from growing larger like we see every damn week with this team. It's also why we always play behind, simply due to the fact that we can't score the ball consistently enough. It sucks starting every game 7-0, even when we win the toss. It's so deflating and demoralizing as a team to start every game with a deficit, and praying that the other team makes enough mistakes so that we can play catch up. Quick question, who has the second worst point differential in the league? Oh that's right, it's the WFT. Who has yet to score a TD on it's opening drive this year? Oh that's right, it's WFT again. Mayfield, Herbert and Burrow are all Top 15 QB's. I would argue that at least two of those QB's (Herbert and Burrow) are already Top 10 QB's. Just having a QB that can move the offense and score points consistently wins you more games than not. It's something that this team has failed to invest in the past 25 years, and you're seeing the affects on a weekly basis. A franchise QB elevates everyone around him and makes a team that much better.
  13. That’s a great way to drive what’s left of the fan base away for good. This is NOT what we want to have happen this coming offseason. Just draft a Goddammed QB in the 1st round for Christ’s sake. If you get Trubisky, you also need to draft a QB, so Trubisky can be a veteran mentor.
  14. We might have comparable talent to GB, but the other teams in the offseason vying for Rodgers beat us as far as talent, and that puts us at a significant disadvantage. Talent might not even be the deciding factor for why a Rodgers or a Wilson wouldn't consider coming here. The owner, FO and coaching would be enough to keep him away. There's also that other sobering fact that this team is dead last in ratings and attendance. Rodgers and Wilson have been used to playing in front of packed houses full of cheering, rabid home fans. Compare that to DC, where we play in the worst stadium in the NFL, and we also now have the worst attendance in the league. It would be a downgrade in every way imaginable for Rodgers or Wilson to come here. We're probably not even on their radar. Why would we be?
  15. Exactly. We have only 1 above average skill player on offense (T-Mac). Everyone else is either average at best, or way below that. There will be other teams vying for Rodgers during the offseason that have tons of offensive talent compared to us (Browns, Steelers, Broncos, Raiders etc.). If Rodgers were here, we'd be .500 at best. We wouldn't be an elite team, and we'd still have all the off the field distractions and headlines that would embarrass fans and players alike (including Rodgers). One thing to keep in mind, is that we only hear how terrible things are from the press. Imagine what other players and coached around the league have heard about the team and how poorly it's run by former players/coaches and executives that have worked here. I bet Rodgers and Wilson would laugh at the thought of coming to this terrible team. Their agents would also probably make sure that we would have no chance to bid for either QB.
  16. In my opinion, the QB position is the only thing that the team should be working on day and night to solve. This franchise has been twisting in the winds of mediocrity and irrelevancy for the last 30 years, due in part to the incompetence from our ownership and front office, but you can argue that not having a franchise QB during this time period is just as big a factor into the team's decent into mediocrity and irrelevancy. The modern NFL requires you to have a franchise QB to at least have a shot at being a contender for the SB every year. The NFL is not what it once was 30 years ago, 20 years ago, or even 10 years ago. You're not going to be relevant or in contention unless you have a QB that can guide you to double digit victories. Look at the top QB's today. Rodgers, Brady, Wilson and Mahommes can sleepwalk their way to 10-11 wins, even with a bad defense. If you don't have at least a top 10 QB, you're margin of error to win every week is 50-50 at best. Even teams with a great defense or a great running game can be contained more thoroughly than a team with just a great QB. It's why I was never a big believer in our chances to compete this year. Sure we had a top 5 defense (last year), but look how handily Tom Brady neutralized our D-Line in that Wild Card game. The NFL is in a place now where the best defense won't beat a Top QB. If we're trotting out Ryan Fitzpatrick/Taylor Heinecke and a Top 5 defense against a Top 5 QB and a decent team around that Top 5 QB, who do you think is going to prevail? We were never going to win more than 8-9 games this year best case scenario. Even if the defense was performing like it did last year, do you think we would be favored to win games against the QB's we've faced so far this year? The answer is no, because those QB's will always make the plays to move the chains, and score points. We need to swing for the fences at some point to try to attain a franchise QB. If it means trading up to the top spot in the draft for the QB that they like, then they need to do it. If it also means giving up draft capital to acquire a Rodgers or a Wilson, then do it. They can't play around anymore when it comes to the QB position. If you have a franchise QB who can get this team in contention year in and year out, that might be enough for fans to start coming back to games again, and generate excitement. RGIII in 2012 showed us what having a potential franchise QB was like. That was an exciting, thrilling year for this team, that hasn't had too may thrilling seasons since 1991. If you have a franchise QB, the fans will come back. It's the only way to win in the Dan Snyder era.
  17. I’m really starting to lose my faith in Rivera. We’ve had Hopkins here for 6 years. We know his MO is not being able to make 50 YD FGs, being accurate inside of 50 YDS, but missing crucial extra points, and costing this team victories year after year. In the preseason, where we saw Hopkins miss 2 FG’s in the New England game, Rivera was asked if there needed to be competition in the kicking game, and Rivera kept praising Hopkins, and told the press he would stick with Hopkins. Hopkins could’ve cost us the Giants game, and the Falcons game, where he missed 2 XP’s, and we had to eek out a win against Atlanta. He also missed a FG in the opener against the Chargers, where we could’ve won that one in the 4th with a game winning FG drive, instead of going for a game winning TD drive. Year after year this guy continues to either blow games, and Rivera decided that in Week 7, he would finally make a move on Hopkins. I sorry, this is the definition of incompetence. You make a move BEFORE the season, not until Week 7. Why the hell did he wait until now? It just speaks to really poor management and accountability.
  18. Who the **** cares at this point? We’re 2-4, have no chance to win the division, and forget about a wild card spot. We’re not a playoff team, not a good team, and we’re fast approaching being a terrible team again. If we’re not going to win a sorry ass division such as the NFC Least, I want to get a top 5 or top 3 pick, and finally get a franchise QB. We’re just twisting in the wind of irrelevancy until this is solved. I’m convinced now that the only way we’ll ever be a good team, or even a relevant team under Snyder, is to get a franchise QB once and for all. You saw the difference today between what having a franchise QB looks like with the Chiefs, and not having one looks like with us. The Chiefs have as bad a defense as we do, are turning the ball a lot more this year than normal and couldn’t stop anyone before playing us today. The difference being that with a Franchise QB, you’ll always have a chance to win, and score 30+. When’s the last time you’ve seen a team turn the ball over 3 times, and still score 30+ and win by 3 possessions?
  19. This. We really screwed ourselves winning that pathetic division last year at 7-9. It was costly on so many fronts. Not the least of which was that we could've solved our QB situation in a couple of different fronts. We could've drafted around 10-12, and selected Fields or Jones, or we could've traded back from the 10-12 spot in the draft to acquire more trade capital. That trade capital could've come in handy this coming offseason, when Rodgers and Watson are set to leave their organizations. Since this is a weak draft class coming up in 2022, we could've saved some draft capital from a trade back to be in prime position to get any marque veteran QB we want. Now we're stuck in QB hell, because we will most likely be picking in that top 7-12 range, but instead of having to draft a promising young QB, this draft will have worse prospects to choose from, and we only have 1 first round pick. We're out on trying to trade for a Rodgers, Watson or even Russel Wilson (but the Giants & Eagles will have the capital to get either one of these guys). This past offseason was a terrible one from the prospective of where we drafted, who we drafted in the 1st round and who we signed in FA. Ron and the FO aren't doing to well at all at the current moment, and he really needs to hit it out of the park in the coming offseason to avoid being on the hot seat next year.
  20. I wouldn't have said it publicly like he did, but I bet that a majority of what's left of the fan base is thinking the same thing today. If we don't win the division last year, we would've been picking in the top 12, and might have been in better position to draft a Micah Parsons, or even one of the QB's that went before our pick (Justin Fields, Mac Jones). As it stands, we were left to pick in no man's land territory (Pick 19), and reached for a LB, who isn't even seeing a majority of the snaps though Week 5. Meanwhile, the Giants and Eagles were able to shore up draft capital by losing the division and trading back. The Cowboys got what looks to be the DROY in Micah Parsons by also missing out on winning the division. Our division title hurt us pretty bad on several fronts. First of all, it gave everyone a false sense of expectations as to what the team was capable of, when in reality that 7-9 record was achieved by beating mostly back-up QB's and playing what turned out to be a very easy schedule. The second thing that hurts is that we basically took ourselves out of trading up for a franchise QB. This past draft had a lot of promising QB's in the first round in which to select from, and give the fan base and the team a hopeful outlook on building a competitor. Not only were we too far back in the draft to try to trade up, but our division opponents (Giants and Eagles) took advantage of picking in that 6-13 area in the draft to move back and pick up additional picks for next year. This means that next year when we are trying to make a move for a rookie QB in the draft, we will not have the same draft capital as the Eagles, who have 3 picks in the 1st round, or NYG who have 2 picks in the 1st round. We will not be able to get a quality QB in the first round in 2022. This also has an affect on QB's who will seek to be traded next offseason too. We don't have the ammo to compete with other teams to try and get a veteran QB like Rodgers or Watson, because we will need multiple 1st and 2nd round picks to do so.
  21. I kept saying this in previous posts, but this team is dead in DC. Look around town, do you see ANYONE in team gear anymore? I see countless amounts of Caps/Nats gear whenever I’m in DC or Arlington. It was really jarring when I went to an Arlington bar a couple of weeks ago for the Giants/WFT game. The amount of Giants gear I saw at the bar, as well as different NFL jerseys was shocking. I knew that the team was dead as far as popularity and coverage, but I had no idea it was this bad. This has been a long time coming. I think the combination of losing Cousins and keeping Bruce/Allen accelerated what was already taking place. You can actually point to the year when we started bleeding fan support at Fed-Ex to when we lost Cousins to free agency after jerking him around with the FA tag for the 2 years prior. 2017 had at least 75-80% capacity at Fed-Ex. I’m 2018, you started seeing the attendance drop to around 60K, and falling. Part of the big problem with this team (aside from the obvious like the owner/FO), is the lack of marketable stars we have. I know Chase is the de-facto face of the team now, but the NFL is an offense league. If you don’t have a franchise QB, you’re dead in the water. We’ve been in purgatory for the last 30 years, just as the franchise QB started to become the most important role in sports. As long as we don’t have a franchise QB, good luck attracting new young fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have the oldest fan base in the NFL. What new young fans would willing follow this crap team?
  22. This. We have no stars on the radar as far as attracting casual viewers. The closest star we have is Chase, but he and the defense have been completely subpar. Since we have no franchise QB, you can't attract viewers with the main face of your team as a defensive player (who is no playing anywhere near up to par at the current moment). I'll give you an example. Aaron Donald is the best defensive player in the league hands down. Might be one of the greatest defensive players ever. But at the end of the day, he's a defensive player. The casual viewer watches games to see touchdowns scored. The Rams aren't a team that the casual viewer would watch before Matthew Stafford joined the Rams. Now that the Rams have a legit QB, they will get more attention and primetime games.
  23. In response to the fair weather fans comment, what do you expect? When a team has sucked on the field for 30 years, and has been a professional sports embarrassment for the last 20 years, you’re not going to attract many new fans, LOL. It’s amazing this team even has ANY fans left after the hell they’ve put the fan base through. Plus, there are loads of new residents from all over the country moving to the DC area every year. No one would make WFT their new team, especially if you’re coming from a town that has an NFL team. Read the room bro. Look at the local TV ratings for this team. Nobody wants to watch this team anymore except for diehards. As a matter of fact, the people in the game day threads might literally be the only people left watching the games as WFT fans. We don’t have a marquee QB to even attract any former fans, much less casual fans. Teams with QB’s draw ratings. We don’t have a franchise QB or a captivating team for the masses to even care about.
  24. Look at the other games on CBS during that 1PM time window. No one cares about NO-WSH except their fans. The other games aren't that great too. If Tom Brady's on, and there's a bunch of other dreck games on, guess which one the casual viewer will watch?
  25. Tom Brady = Ratings. That's the bottom line. No one outside WFT fans want to willingly watch the team. If you notice, unless we are playing a high profile team or QB, we're just about eye level with the other dregs of the league as far as interest and ratings. My family wonders why I even bother still watching the team after all this time, and I have many other friends who are just as obsessed with football as I am, that make fun of me for still being a fan, and complain loudly when WFT is on TV. "PUT ON A BETTER GAME, THE REDSKINS SUCK!!" is the response I get whenever we are hanging out, and the WFT game is on. These are people who grew up here that root for other teams (Seahawks, Steelers, Packers, Eagles, etc). At some point, our games will just be relegated to the markets that need to air the game due to proximity. Empty seats at Fed-Ex, extremely low local ratings for WFT games, these are the reasons why the nation doesn't to be subjected to the torture the fan base experiences on a weekly basis watching this team.
