  1. Sorry bud, but it’s true. They’re airing commercials every break trying to get us to “purchase game tickets” for games this year. This doesn’t happen to 75% of NFL teams. The fact that we’re advertising selling tickets for select games (including the opener) is pathetic, and shows how far we’ve fallen. It’s not all the fanbase’s fault, but you see the current state of the team. We’re getting better, but it’s a massive hurdle to getting back to what we once were.
  2. No we don’t. Do you see the attendance at this game? It’s barely half full, and half of this crowd is Ravens fans. Take a look around at some of the other games across the league. Full attendance at all venues except for ours. If this game were at M&T, it would be sold out.
  3. Our Week 1 game vs. the Chargers is on CBS. Just saw on Twitter that the announcers for Week 1 are: WEEK 1 – Sept. 12 – CBS DOUBLEHEADER1:00 PM ET:N.Y. Jets @ Carolina: Andrew Catalon/James Lofton/Sherree BurrussJacksonville @ Houston: Greg Gumbel/Adam Archuleta/AJ RossPittsburgh @ Buffalo: Ian Eagle/Charles Davis/Evan WashburnArizona @ Tennessee: Tom McCarthy/Tiki BarberL.A. Chargers@ Washington: Spero Dedes/Jay Feely4:25 PM, ET:Cleveland @ Kansas City: Jim Nantz/Tony Romo/Tracy WolfsonMiami @ New England: Kevin Harlan/Trent Green/Melanie Collins Apparently, we get Spero Dedes and Jay Feely.
  4. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. If it did, it should be called “best player award” instead of most valuable player. I hate Harden, and I think he’s a fat, flopping piece of **** like everyone else, but if you’re team is a lottery team without you, you deserve to be an MVP candidate. Besides, most players would trade regular season MVP awards for Finals MVP’s anyday.
  5. Let's be honest with ourselves, did anyone expect a different result than what's currently happening? When you lose the offensive production of a Rendon, it's crippling. What made us so lethal in 2019 was a prime Rendon hitting in front of an emerging superstar in Soto. Fast forward to this season, and there are only 2 batters to fear in the entire lineup, and one of them bats leadoff. Rizzo has to take the blame for his offseason signings. How in the world did he think that signing Schwarber and Bell (two strikeout magnets) could improve our offense? Both signings look horrific. I'm not going to rip Rizzo for signing Strasburg over Rendon, since Rendon is just as injury prone on the Angels as Stras is with the Nats. I would also sign the pitcher everytime in that scenario. Rizzo has a lot of work to do this offseason, and finding a 3B is his most important task. I'm not going to advocate for trading Scherzer at the deadline, but Rizzo has to be thinking about it now. If this homestand goes south for us, we're definitely going to be the center of attention around baseball, since Max is the key prize for a contender this year.
  6. Sorry, but a decent chunk of people in this country don’t give a damn about their fellow citizens. People don’t usually do things for other people unless there’s something in it for them. It sucks to hear, but that’s the real world in a nutshell. If it takes incentivizing taking the vaccine so that those that are hesitant will get it, then it’s whatever. I fully support this. Whatever it takes to get to herd immunity.
  7. I look at it like this, the only new stadium to be built the last 15 years with no buzz or non-football events is MetLife Stadium. It is a newer version of Fed-Ex in my opinion, and just a “blah” stadium in general. It got the SB back in 2012, but that’s because the NFL wanted a SB in the NYC area. Other than that are there any other events that it’s hosted since besides Giants/Jets games? Look at the other stadiums that have been built since, (Cowboys, Falcons, Rams, 49ers, Colts, Cardinals, Vikings, etc). All these stadiums have events going on year round like College Football championships, NCAA Final Fours, WrestleManias, etc. MetLife is like Fed-Ex in a way, where it’s just there for NFL and nothing more. I’m sure Snyder is salivating at the thought of a new stadium hosting big events year round besides NFL games. For that to happen, I think we need to build a retractable roof stadium.
  8. I wonder if the new stadium will have a retractable roof? I know Dan wants to hold major events here year round (Super Bowls, Final Fours, WrestleManias, etc). It’s the only way a new stadium will keep generating revenue year round. It would probably be in Snyder’s best interest to build a retractable stadium for that alone. We could be hosting a Super Bowl in year one of the new stadium if that happens.
  9. Sure, we have a starting QB (this year). I think Fitz is a pretty good placeholder for this coming year. My point is that this Fitz experiment will only be 1-2 years at best since he’s 38. We need to plan for the future if we’re not doing so already. QB is going to be the biggest question mark until we either draft one or trade for one. My guess is we’ll probably try to trade for one, either before the season starts, or when FA begins after next year. Who knows, if Watson settles his lawsuits, he might be had for 2 1sts and Ion. If the price is too rich for us, then we’ll need to trade up into the top 5 for next year’s QB class. But make no mistake about it, I have a feeling that we’ll make a significant move at QB sooner rather than later. Our future SB hopes depend on it.
  10. No we don’t. We’re either going to trade for Rodgers/Watson, or we’re going to trade up next year and get a rookie. We don’t have our franchise QB on the roster right now. Once we have a franchise QB, then our contending window officially opens.
  11. Makes sense. There’s a reason this division is the butt of jokes league wide, and referred to as the “NFC Least”. This division is an embarrassment, and so far removed from its glory days.
  12. The schedule release grabs more ratings than regular season NBA/MLB/NHL games. It also gives the NFL another few weeks of press during the boring period after the draft. It’s a win-win for the NFL. Look how much attention this thread is getting on a random Wednesday in May. NFL is king.
  13. I’m going to say 9-8, and we miss the playoffs by one game. We’ll lose the division to the Cowboys who will be one game better at 10-7, and we’ll be tied with the Giants at 9-8. We’ll also be short of the wildcard by 1 game ( Arizona will grab the last wild card spot). I predict we get off to a fast start 7-2, but Fitzpatrick will play Jekyll and Hyde all season, before leading us on a 4 game losing skid before Taylor Heinecke replaces him in Game 13. He will go 2-2, and thus we will be on the outside looking in. Everyone here and in the media will blast the WFT for not adequately addressing the QB situation, and we will go into next offseason with the goal in mind of getting a franchise QB.
  14. Tony Romo is the exception, not the rule. We can’t feel to comfortable about our QB situation as it stands for the long term. I’m certain we’re going to do everything we can to draft a QB, whether it be trading up into the top 10 if the opportunity should arise, or drafting one in the 2nd or 3rd round. QB is the one position that’s of most importance, especially since next year’s draft will be very poor and mediocre for the next batch of QB’s. We need to get our QB of the future this season, and have him sit and learn behind Fitz.
  15. I think the opposite. I think we’ll definitely be drafting QB, possibly in the early rounds. The team is almost set from a talent prospective on both sides of the ball. Drafting a rookie this year makes sense, because next year’s QB draft class is slated to be the worst one in several years. We’ll also need to draft our guy soon, because you want him to sit and learn behind Fitz, and be ready to take over after next year. Fitz is 38, so he’s just a placeholder for this year, while we draft our QB of the future. I hope one of the top QB’s slide down to us, but if not, we can draft Mond in the 3rd round.
  16. Love the move, had to get a competent veteran QB to make it possible for us to still compete for the division next year, and Fitzpatrick definitely fits that mold. We’ll also be able to get a good to great FA WR/TE now that we have a known QB1 locked in for next year. This move also allows us to draft QB, and have them sit and learn behind Fitz. My guess is Allen will be the odd man out, and he will either be put on PUP, or be cut before the season starts. We don’t lose anything by cutting Allen, since he’s not very talented nor is he in our future plans. Heinecke is more talented, with better upside as a backup, so he can be QB2 or 3.
  17. Davis will have a very good rookie QB throwing to him in Zach Wilson. We don’t currently have a competent QB on the roster unless we make a move for a veteran. I think Davis will be okay on the NYJ. If we miss out on Samuel, JuJu and Golladay, and are left with scraps to choose from, we’ll know why (because our current QB crop sucks, and will scare off any potential WR suitors).
  18. Every scrub has a good game once in a while. That is an aberration, and not the standard. His great games are freak occurrences that make the overwhelmingly crappy performances he has on a regular basis not look as bad.
  19. I’m sorry to say this, but you’re on your own island on this one. I’d literally take ANYONE over Trubisky. He’s so bad, I’d rather Heinecke start over Trubisky (even though I don’t like the idea of Heinecke starting). Any Chicago fan will tell you how bad he was at stretching the field, and being unable to inspire confidence.
  20. Hurts was pulled because there was a real chance he was going to lead the Eagles to victory. I think he would’ve actually gotten them the meaningless W, if he had stayed in. We were very fortunate that Petersen gave us that solid late in the game.
  21. Not a chance in hell. WR’s care about their stats more than any position hands down. Money comes first, but the ability to produce stats is a close second. If we have two mediocre to terrible QB’s fighting for the starting job, that will severely hinder our chances to attract top offensive talent, and it might cause us to overpay for someone who wouldn’t come to WFT otherwise. We might be shocked this upcoming week at what we offer to lesser WR’s just to compete with other teams.
  22. I agree with Cooley that Golladay seems out of our range/league. He’s gonna take a look at our current QB crop, and probably say “no thanks”, and end up signing with the Rams. Our range of WR options probably consists of Corey Davis/Curtis Samuel.
  23. One of them will almost certainly be QB3. The other will battle for the QB1 spot (and likely lose depending on if it’s a FA QB they’re battling or a rookie drafted). Let’s be clear, Allen sucks, and Heinecke only got a call from us, because we literally had no other options left. He was out of the league for 2 years until we called him, and has only had 5 quarters of good football to his name in the NFL. Allen, nor Heinecke should be assumed the starting QB in Week 1 next year, and if one of them is the starting QB, we should probably not expect much from the team in terms of competing for the NFC, much less winning the division.
  24. Depending on what we do in FA, unfortunately he’s right at the moment. Dak is unquestionably the best QB in the division, and if he’s fully healthy, he can get that team to at least 8-9+ wins a season. 8 wins would win this division rather easily. If we roll with our current QB’s (Allen/Heinecke), we won’t win more than 6-7 games next year. We’re gonna have to drastically upgrade at QB this year, or next year to take full advantage of our window of opportunity. The last thing anyone wants is a wasted window where we have a stacked roster that’s young and cheap, but we have mediocre to terrible QB play that hinders us from going on a run. This organization’s next big challenge is to find a QB that can get us to the next level.
