  1. I wonder what the ratings for this interview will be. I didn’t watch, because I couldn’t give two ****s about the royal family, or the drama surrounding them, but I do realize that it was a big topic online last night and this morning. With everything going on in this country at the moment, I wonder how much people will care about rich monarch problems.
  2. LOL, I will say that the media probably feels like we should be in the running for some of these FA QB’s. Maybe they’re hearing things that we’re not privy too. I do feel like we will make a move in the next two weeks, whether that be signing Fitz, or maybe Mariotta (if he’s cut). That’s the best of our options.
  3. Because getting the QB position settled through FA gives us a better chance to sign FA WR’s and TE’s. If we go into the FA signing period with the current QB’s we have, no offensive FA’s will come here unless we overpay. If we want a Corey Davis, or a JuJu Smith-Schuster, we better have a plan at QB better than our current options, or we will have to significantly outbid other teams to have a chance at signing high caliber FA’s.
  4. That's not enough for a QB to come here. If you had a gif of McLaurin, maybe he might be enticed. We have a terrible offense as it is, so the next few gifs should be of McLaurin, Gibson and either Allen Robinson/Corey Davis.
  5. But the problem with that is that you’re potentially wasting a great defense rolling with what we have currently. If we roll with Heinecke/Allen next year, we’re going to be struggling to score 17-20 points like last year, and the defense will get gassed and tired trying to keep games within reach for us. We also need to add a QB, because it will affect who comes here during FA. No FA WR or TE is going to sign here willingly unless we either overpay, or upgrade our QB’s. We don’t have a prayer attracting higher level FA’s like Robinson, Davis, Schuster unless we overpay, or guarantee them that we will solve our QB issue.
  6. This is exactly what I was saying last week, when talking about the need to significantly upgrade at QB to have a chance at some of these upper tier FA’s considering coming to DC. Right now, we’re kind of a black hole when it comes to top destinations for top tier players. We need to upgrade at QB, or draft a QB if we want to have a chance at getting top tier offensive players this offseason.
  7. Unfortunately, our QB situation IS a net negative. Currently we have one QB who, let’s be honest isn’t very good and injury prone (Kyle Allen), and we have another QB that was literally on the streets before week 16, out of the NFL (Heinecke). That’s not much of a sell to potential FA WR’s. These guys want to get paid, and put up numbers. Why would they come here knowing that both potential starting QB’s are injury prone, and in the case of Heinecke has only played 5 good quarters of football with no film? Allen Robinson has played with Mitch Trubisky for two years. Why would he want to go to a WORSE QB situation than the one he’s coming from? He might as well stay with Chicago if that’s the case. I do think we’ll be an attractive sell to FA defensive players though. Our defense is good enough to get the top FA players intrigued. But FA offensive players will probably have us low on their list unless we have a truly competent plan at fixing the QB position.
  8. Allen Robinson isn’t coming here unless we significantly upgrade our QB situation. None of the top FA WR’s will come here unless that happens. Why would Robinson or Samuel come here, when there are plenty of other teams to choose from with better QB’s? If we don’t do something soon at QB, we’ll have to offer way more to these receivers, just to get them interested in coming here. My guess is that if we roll with Heinecke/Allen with no improvement, we’ll end up overpaying for a mediocre second option like JuJu Smith-Schuster or TY Hilton.
  9. Whether it’s Darnold or Mariotta, we’re going to be adding a vet QB to this roster. We literally have no choice, since it’s suicide to start next year with one injury-prone, mediocre at best QB (Allen), and another QB that has only had exactly one good game, but was on the streets before we signed him (Heinecke). We’re most likely cutting Alex Smith, so it’s either an FA or traded QB who most likely starts game one next year (Mariotta/Fitz/Darnold), or we trade up in the draft to get either Lance or Fields, and start Allen/Heinecke to begin the season.
  10. We’re still going back to back. 18th title coming soon.
  11. Why in the world would Allen Robinson want to come here, when he's leaving his current team with a similarly terrible QB situation? He's not coming here unless we significantly upgrade at QB. No free agent WR is going to come here with our current QB situation. We'd have to overpay just to have a shot. Robinson will probably sign with a contender with an above average QB. Curtis Samuel will also most likely sign with a contender. We'll probably end up with TY Hilton, or Juju Smith-Schuster.
  12. It’s been wonderful so far. No big snowstorms, just light snowstorms that cover the grass, and don’t cause any travel issues. Here’s to no big snowstorms, and temps going back above average as we head into spring.
  13. Not really. I was emphasizing how much better we’d be with a consistent above average QB, which we DO NOT have at the current moment. Heinecke has only played about 5 good quarters of football overall. Chances are he won’t duplicate his performance against Tampa Bay once D-Coordinators have more film of him. If we had a competent, consistent QB, we’d be up there with the Bucs, Packers and Rams as far as contenders go.
  14. If we roll with just Heinecke and Allen next year, we’re not winning more than 6 or 7 games, which doesn’t even guarantee a division title. If we want to win the division and compete for more, we need to significantly upgrade at the QB position. If that means trading for Watson, or Carr, I’m all for it. I do agree that Winston/Mariotta are not upgrades, and would be more placeholders than anything else. If anything, last night should’ve been revealing to WFT fans, in that we went toe to toe with the SB champs with a 4th string QB literally signed off the streets. We performed better against Tampa Bay than NO and KC did. With the NFC picture up in the air now, maybe we can vault into contention if we get even an above average QB.
  15. Sorry, but I don’t agree with that. Heineicke has basically played about 5 quarters of football with next to zero scouting and film study done from the teams he played. I agree that his performance was very impressive, but we shouldn’t just roll with him going into next year, and think that we can win the division. What’s going to happen if Heinecke is the starter next year, and the league has had an offseason to study and game plan for him? We wouldn’t be division favorites next year if we roll out with Heinecke and Allen. We’d be looking at 7-9 at best, and who knows if that would be good enough to win the division next year. I think we should either trade for Watson, or we should trade up into the top 10 to have a chance at Fields or Lance. Our current QB situation is untenable at this point, and we would not be competing for anything meaningful if we stick with the status quo.
  16. I agree with trying to get a QB like a Carr, while adding pieces to our team to become a contender. I don’t agree with sitting on our hands and rolling with what we have going into next year. There’s no guarantee the division will ever be as bad as it was this year, and depending on Heinecke or Allen to guide us next year will not get us to where we want to be. We either need to sign a FA QB, or trade up to get a franchise QB. We can’t sit and be patient and role with what we have now, because it’s not good enough.
  17. I disagree with this sentiment. We have a window of opportunity now while the division is terrible. Looking ahead to next year, the Cowboys will have Dak back, and will be a threat, and the Giants will have an opportunity to improve their team through FA and getting Saquon back. Philly will probably be in the basement for a while, since they’re WAY over the cap, and they have a new coach, and big questions at QB. As it stands right now, we have the best defense in the division, and we’re a solid QB away from running this division for the next few years at least. Starting next year, the Bucs and Packers will probably be the favorite last in the NFC, but outside of that? Seattle has question marks, the Saints are gonna be without their HOF QB, and the Rams will be a wild card team at the very least. We need to strike while the iron is hot, because if we squander our opportunity to get a top shelf QB, we’re gonna miss our opportunity to compete for the NFC championship, since our young defense will start to get expensive with their contracts coming up in the future. Ill finish with this, the league is not meant to be patient and having things fall into place. You could just as easily lose your opportunity for a window just as one opens. We only have about 1-2 years left, before we have to start paying everyone on our defense plus Scary Terry. If we roll out with what we have currently next year, I’m not even sure that wins the division for us. We HAVE to get a QB, for us to start being a perennial contender. Otherwise we’re a fringe 8-8 team as it is, in a terrible division.
  18. I truly don't get it. It's bizarre. I would be over the moon if I was a Wiz fan, if I thought there was a chance to get out of Wall's horrific contract. There's more of a chance that he's never going to be what he once was, then there is that he will go back to being a top 5 PG. Those days are over. Once he loses his athleticism and speed, he will really be an albatross on offense.
  19. This. I'm not even a Wizards fan, but if I was, and you told me that the Wizards had a chance to rid themselves of the worst contract in the NBA, I'd be ecstatic and jumping up and down. Once you get rid of that contract, you put yourself in a much better position going forward.
  20. I’m sorry but who the **** does Wall think he is anyway? He’s hasn’t played in 2 years, he can’t shoot, and he’s now on the wrong side of 30. On top of that he has quite possibly the worst contract in the NBA (only Westbrook’s contract is worse). He has NO right to demand a trade, especially now, when the Wiz are paying him over $40 Million per year the next 3 years. If I’m the Wizards, I’m laughing in his face with that demand, and telling him to shut the **** up, or rescind your salary. If I’m a Wiz fan, you should pray that a dumb org like the Pistons or Hornets shows interest in trading for Wall’s horrific contract. Anything to remove yourselves from under that albatross of a deal.
  21. I can't link it since it's a live YouTube show, but Pat McAfee just alluded to the story, and how huge a bombshell it will be after getting a text from a couple of "sources". Interestingly, he said that the "on the field" portion of this bombshell could be the bigger deal than the off the field drama. He also said that this has the potential to be "shield-splitting" if true, which I think means that this could cause big problems for the NFL in general, not just Washington.
  22. She won’t. She’ll be dead in a few weeks or a month tops. Remember Trump and Barr trying to unsuccessfully fire the SDNY attorney a few weeks back? Who wants to bet dollars to donuts it was about this case specifically? I would imagine that whole episode was to probably stop the arrest from taking place.
  23. Unfortunately, that’s where we are at this stage. You can only delay for so long. There’s so much uncertainty about the rest of the year and 2021, that holding off resuming could be crippling across the board. There’s too much revenue at stake, and not just from games being played. The networks who air these leagues need them to come back too more than anything else. If your FOX, ESPN, CBS, NBC, etc, you need to air these games to make up for ratings, and ad revenue generated. This is the big piece of the puzzle to pay attention to. Networks now more than ever are aching for action to resume in the sports world.
  24. That’s not going to happen, for financial reasons, as well as restlessness that will undoubtedly build the longer these sports leagues aren’t operating. What’s ironic is that baseball might actually be the safest sport besides soccer in contact between players. Baseball should’ve been back by now, and it’s hilarious and sad how screwed up this whole ordeal was between the owners and the players. These sports leagues might as well resume operations, because if you are stating that they cancel all of 2020, what makes you think that it will be better in 2021? You can’t pause sports leagues for this long without major financial ramifications. It’s better to just jump into the pool of uncertainty now, rather than risking tremendous financial burdens later.
  25. Right now, I would think the Ravens are more popular in DC than the Redskins. I was at a restaurant in Clarendon on Sunday, and they had as many TV’s on the Ravens game than the Skins game. I even heard some people at the bar say, “turn off that trash” when referring to the Skins game on the main TV. I’m glad this is happening. They quite frankly deserve it:
