  1. You have nothing to apologize for. These Wentz fanboys are slowly coming to the realization that he’s exactly what everybody in the national media said he was. But, I do disagree with you about Heinecke. He’s not as talented as Wentz, and there’s no way they could bring him back as QB1 for this season. Wentz was literally their last resort, since no QB would willingly come here unless they were traded. They just unfortunately went for the QB that is talented, but very flawed. Anybody defending Wentz now, should have their head examined. He’s NOT that guy. He’ll never be that guy. I knew what he was, watching most of his games as an Eagle, and watching some of his games last year as a Colt. Both those orgs couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. It’s amazing how we keep getting retreads who are clearly flawed, and thinking that they can resurrect their careers here in DC. LOL.
  2. With a Top 5 pick, we’re drafting QB for sure next draft. Howell might never get a chance to show if he belongs in the league or not. To be quite honest, the line shouldn’t be a hindrance to Howell getting play time or not. Wentz sucks, because he holds the ball too long, is inaccurate and can’t get to his checkdowns when they’re needed. Howell is more mobile, and can move in the pocket, unlike Wentz.
  3. I don’t get this logic. If we’re Top 5 pick bad, why would we hesitate to play Howell? Howell is a 5th round pick, and he’s mobile, so we can see if he’s worth keeping for the new regime. This coming QB draft class is expected to be one of the best in years, so it would make sense for us to see what Howell has now, so that we can make a determination if he’s someone to build around or not. Since we have lots of holes to fix on this team, we need to know 100% if Howell can be in our future plans. It would be really beneficial to know for sure that we need to pick QB with our 1sr round selection next year. We also need to keep our 2nd round pick for obvious reasons.
  4. Yes, but if we’re 1-5 or 1-6, and we’re effectively out of the playoff picture in the NFC, what reason would we have to continue to play Wentz, especially if he continues to look like he did against the Eagles & Cowboys? His best games sadly, will probably resemble today’s game, and as you can see, he still gagged in the end. At some point, Wentz will be benched, either due to injury, but more likely performance. The competitive portion of our season will end on Thursday, when we lose to the Bears.
  5. Wentz ain’t gonna get better, especially with this line. Even if our line was better at pass blocking, he’s too inaccurate, unaware in the pocket and a statue behind center. They almost have no choice now but to become run-oriented team going forward, since this line can run block better than they can pass block. Having a mobile QB sure would be ideal right now. The Colts had it right last year, using that formula to win 9 games and Wentz screwed that up when they needed him most. Limiting Wentz, and his mistakes will increase our chances for victories.
  6. The one silver lining from the first 4 games, is that we will certainly be in the Top 10 in the draft, and possibly in the Top 5, if we keep playing the way we have been. This could actually be a good thing for us, since we never seem to suck when there's a great QB class available in the draft. This is our opportunity to finally select our franchise QB in a great QB class. If we suck enough, we can get rid of the below average coaching staff, and start anew with a new QB going forward. I'm now going to be watching Alabama/OSU/Kentucky games moving forward, to see if we have a shot of getting one of those QB's in the 2023 Draft. Hell, I just might watch any game with a potential 1st round QB prospect, to see which one I'm going to be rooting hard for to end up in B&G. One more note, if Jalen Hurts keeps ascending this year and takes control of the QB position in Philly, that will help us out bigtime. They have the Saint's 1st Round selection this year, and if the Saints are also picking in the Top 10, Philly could theoretically be in position to also draft a franchise QB if Hurts falls flat on his face. We need Hurts to keep killing it, so that they don't become our competition in the draft for picking one of the top QB prospects.
  7. Honestly, that sounds quite tortuous. I could never watch Washington games, and nothing else NFL related. I need to watch other NFL games, to see competent football. I also love watching the sport, so I could never hold myself to watch nothing but Washington games, because I'd fall out of love with football if that was all I was left to.
  8. This will be a low-scoring slop fest. We'll lose of course, because the Dallas Defense (which is better than Philly's Defense by the way) will tee off on Wentz even more so than what we saw yesterday. If Cooper Rush is the QB, then Dallas can win this game 20-10. If Dak plays, then you're looking at a blowout on the scale of 31-10. I don't think they'd rush Dak back for this game, since the Defense for Dallas can beat Washington on it's own, with little Offensive help. They'll save Dak for a bigger/more important game when he comes back. I think this will be the game that Wentz gets injured, and we turn to Heinecke. Wentz won't last until Columbus Day, with the way our line is currently constructed. Washington 10 Dallas 20
  9. If they’re ****ty, then what are we? You do realize that Jags & Lions fans would be just as disappointed in losing to US, as we are to losing to them right? Both the Jags AND Lions have just as good a chance of getting to the playoffs as we do. Maybe more, since the Jags can win their division with 7-8 wins, and the Lions can be a wild card team with 9 wins (and they already have a tiebreaker over us should we finish with the same record). We’ve been a really ****ty team for 25+ years now. No right for us to throw stones at glass houses.
  10. This team doesn’t deserve the right to complain about media disrespect and bias, when they fall flat on their face every time they have a chance to build momentum, and escape their mediocrity. I hope people realize now why the media disrespects this team, and pays them no attention. They’re proven right time and time again. Winning cures all, and until they start to do that consistently, they will be an after thought nationally.
  11. Sorry, I don’t buy this at all. There’s absolutely no indication that this coaching staff is smart enough or capable enough to fix there mistakes. I’m completely out on Rivera & Del-Rio. They’re both below average coaches, who are archaic, and completely out of touch with today’s modern NFL. Rivera is more Jeff Fisher than he is Marvin Lewis. This will most likely be his 9th losing season as a head coach out of 12 seasons. Very Jeff Fisher like.
  12. That's before they got AJ Brown. For a QB like Hurts, having a legit Top 5 WR opens up so much of their offense. Defenses have to now game plan for a legit WR Corp with Brown, Devonta Smith and Zach Pascal, while their #1 rushing attack gets even easier with Hurts at the helm. If Hurts improves his accuracy, and can feed the WR's, their running game will be almost unfair to go up against. We're currently giving up over 7 YPC after going up against JAX and DET. Can you imagine what the Eagles will average YPC on Sunday?
  13. No we haven't. His best games last year were against us. He threw for almost 300 Yds, and 1 TD passing (2 TD Rushing) against us in Philly last year, and then he was able to do whatever he wanted the second time around at Fed-Ex 2 weeks later. He's a nightmare matchup for this defense. They have historically looked terrible against mobile QB's, but if Hurts can actually sling the ball like he did last night, then forget about it. We need to be worried about how we can keep up with them offensively, because it's damn near a forgone conclusion that we will give up TD's on every Eagles possession on Sunday. If Scott Turner has a ball control offensive playbook that he's been saving, now would be the time to utilize it on Sunday. We need to make sure that our offensive drives on Sunday take up a lot of clock, so that the Eagles won't have much time to score.
  14. Hurts is going to destroy us next weekend. We couldn't contain him last year, when he had a decent offense around him, but now that they have AJ Brown, and their running attack is even more potent than the Lions running attack, we are going to get massacred on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, we should be able to score on them (provided that we don't wait until halftime to start scoring). This will be a shootout, but since the Eagles can run the ball at will, they will have a 5-6 minute drive to put the game away at the end with a TD, and we will not have enough time to pull off the win: Eagles 41 Commanders 35
  15. This will also be a dog fight: Commanders 35 Lions 31 I predict that we will be in a shootout with the Lions. They will run wild on our defense, but we will pass the ball all over the Lions secondary. This will come down to whoever has the ball last, and I predict that Wentz throws a TD Pass to Logan Thomas in the last 2 minutes to secure our victory. Wentz: 29/38 360 YDS, 4TD T. McLaurin: 7 REC, 130 YDS, 1TD Jahan Dotson: 5 REC, 65 YDS, 1TD Logan Thomas 8 REC, 70 YDS, 1TD Antonio Gobson: 7 REC, 40 YDS, 1TD (15 CAR, 70 YDS, 1TD
  16. I see plenty of one score games on that list of games they played last year. They were not your typical terrible team. Second, we just saw our defense have issues against a team that couldn't average 15 PPG last year on offense. How are you so confident that we can easily beat Detroit? It's possible, but it won't be easy. This will be one of the highest scoring games next week. We can't stop them, and they can't stop us.
  17. Not really. Detroit was a bad luck team last year. They really should've won 5-6 games instead of the 3 that they did win. Detroit is going to be a MUCH tougher opponent than the Jags. Detroit can actually put up points, and they can run the ball well now with DeAndre Swift. Even more tough, is the fact that this is a road game for Washington, in a place that they haven't had much success in the past 15 years. I predict that this will be a shootout, and that the score will look similar to today's Eagles/Lions score. Detroit's issue is that they can't close games.
  18. Sorry to say this, but the sexual assault/harassment stuff is not enough to bring Snyder down. I bet a good majority of the owners have done just as much, if not worse than Snyder, so if they kick him out for that, then Snyder can expose what he knows about other owners escapades, which they DON’T want exposed. The only way Snyder gets stripped of his ownership is if he’s costing other owners money, or if he is unable to get a new stadium with taxpayer money. If Snyder is rejected on the basis that no municipality will let him build his new stadium with taxpayer money, then that will set a trend, where other municipalities for other teams that need new stadiums (Bills, Bears, etc) could follow suit. That would piss off the other owners, and expedite his eventually removal.
  19. https://twitter.com/Nationals/status/1568024765100851200 Hmm, well this is certainly interesting. I used to remember when the sports teams that play in their respective cities repped and supported the other teams in town. Those days seem to be long gone. Speaking of which, did this team ever support the Nats and Caps when they were winning in the playoffs and winning championships? I remember Nats and Caps players repping and supporting each other like crazy during their runs, but I don't remember any Redskins/Commanders players doing the same.
  20. I was just about to post this. I bet we’re the only team Week 1 that won’t have full attendance. Considering the opponent, we might be lucky to have half of Fed-Ex filled. This is going to be a painful season to watch us play home games. There’s only one way to change that, and that’s by winning games. We HAVE to start the season off with a winning streak to get fans enthusiastic and willing to come back to the stadium. If we fall on our face out of the gate against Jacksonville Week 1, then we will be off to a terrible start, and Fed-Ex will be a ghost town by October.
  21. Woah, slow down there champ. This team is NOT a SB threat under any circumstance. Our roster is just about average at best, and our QB can be described as also average at best. The only QB's that could take this team to a SB are Mahommes, Brady or Rodgers. Wentz is NOWHERE near those guys in terms of talent and accomplishments. Could he get us to the playoffs as a wild card or a division winner? Maybe, but I doubt it. SB is ludacris.
  22. I think we'll be slow to start offensively in the 1st half, but we'll start to get our groove after halftime. Our defense however, will be an embarrassment, and Lawrence should have a field day moving the ball up and down the field. Lawrence will throw for 320 and 3TD. Wentz will throw for 250 and 2TD, and Gibson/McKissic will each run in for a score. We'll have the ball last, and we'll get to field goal range for the GW FG by Slye. There's a reason this is a pickem game according to Vegas (WSH -2.5). Nobody really thinks we're going to blow out the Jags (or anyone for that matter). The line is screaming for people to take the Jags. I'm with Vegas, in that this will be a back and forth game that come down to the wire. We barely cover here for the win. Final Score Jaguars 28 Commanders 31
  23. No one will ever give this team the benefit of the doubt, and to be honest, why should they? Very few moves under Snyder’s ownership have ever worked out. If I were a a betting man, I bet that this move for Wentz won’t work out either. Until I see it, I don’t have any reason to believe that it will work. On the positive side, this team seems to perform beyond expectations, when there are no expectations, so maybe there’s something to go on.
  24. I agree 100%. Our home schedule this year is one of the weakest I can remember. The only marquee team visiting us besides the NFCE teams is the Packers. If they don’t want the fans to check out early, and for FED-EX Field to be a ghost town after Week 3, then they NEED to win the first two games. The first 2 games will go a long way towards determining whether the re-brand is a short term failure.
  25. That sounds exactly like what I was going to predict. I was toying with going with a 9-8 record, but I agree with 8-9. I agree with the fact that this will be an up and down year, with more downs early in the season. Ron will definitely be on the hot seat after this season, and I predict that we will have a desperate offseason. We will finally open up our wallets and go all out in FA to save Ron’s job for 2023. The defense will be the reason we go 8-9. They will look a lot like last year’s defense, maybe worse. Del-Rio will get fired by Week 6, and the defense stabilizes some after the firing, but still can’t get off the field on key 3rd downs.
