  1. Javier Bardem - No Country for Old men Him and his CO2 tank... Cold, calculated and creepy AF!
  2. Here's the GOP's answer to gun violence / mass shootings..
  3. Now it turns out he was arrested 4 years ago for saying he planned to shoot up a school after graduation? How can this get any worse! omg...
  4. My daughter's working toward a teaching degree and has been in tears over this, second guessing her decisions. How many other teachers out there already working are doing the same thing? Tens of thousands, I'm sure... I wouldn't blame those close to retirement just throwing in the towel. Those in training thinking they've made a mistake and those already working saying I still have time to make a career change.. If the last 2 years have taught us anything or confirmed what we already knew, it's the abysmal level of education in this country! It's all too frustrating... This country is circling the bowl!
  5. Gibson is a decent starter and Kissic a good 3rd down back but Patterson (while a good story) needs to be challenged
  6. Solzhenitsyn was a proud Russian who loved his country and fought against real Nazi's, ironically. But once he was scooped up by the KGB and sent to Gulag (for criticizing the war effort), he was immediately branded a Nazi himself and heard it everywhere he went. If history teaches us anything, Russian solders returning from Ukraine to the motherland are in for a very rough time. Huge numbers of those that fought the Third Reich back to Berlin were scooped up and sent to Gulag. And they were the victorious ones!
  7. "To qualify for compensatory picks, teams must end up with more or better qualifying free agents lost than gained in a particular year". I always wondered why we never got many compensatory picks, but seems this is going to happen when your team is a perennial free-agent wasteland to be avoided...
  8. Recently finished CASTE by Isabel Wilkerson. Difficult read and not for the faint of heart but absolutely worth it. On to TEAM OF RIVALS by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Just getting started and my first foray into American politics.
  9. RG3 called and said he's not chopped liver and would like to be included in your post. I respectfully disagreed with him, for what it's worth..
  10. Rivera and Del Rio are tight. These friends aren’t kicking friends to the curb. Del Rio is here as long as Rivera is, unless DR decides otherwise. Just gotta get used to that idea…
  11. Pretty sure that's Reyes your thinking about. It occurred to me that he wasn't all-in as the DL had a head-start and the goal line was fast approaching but that's an issue too! Bates, to his credit was high effort and gonna give the DL a run for his money... might have caught the guy had he been in Reyes position initially.
  12. Bates has decent wheels too.. He shows up on the replay of the blocked kick and run-back. Reyes is trailing the run-back but not gaining ground, (and I though he was supposed to have decent speed), but Bates comes in late from out of shot, moving at a good clip and clearly gaining ground. It's good to see him on the field finally and making plays...
  13. It's very clear in the highlight reel just a few posts above. Right at the 9:12 mark. Ball comes loose...
  14. Yes, providing the receivers control of the ball is maintained through the process. But that didn't happen. Logan lost control for a split second and the ball clearly (and I chose my words carefully here) "detached from grip" as he and the ball contacted the ground.
  15. Disagree. It wasn't evident from every angle they replayed, but there was one that clearly showed the ball moving (detached from grip) when it hit the ground. I fully expected the reversal.
  16. So, I recall one of the things RR stated around draft time was the need to identify guys who REALLY like the game with a desire to play at the next level. Given RR knows him, I would be surprised if Samuels felt that way. And regarding Brown, I would suggest that 99% of these kids coming out of college are "soft" for the pro game. They all need a year of conditioning and dieting for the pro game. Just my take...
  17. I was laughing when the commentator gave the credit to Gibson because "he wouldn't be denied", or some such nonsense. Truth is the Oline swallowed Gibson whole and regurgitated him on the other side of the line...
  18. Not ready to call him a bust but quite yet but I do think it reasonable to question his commitment, especially as pertains to his training regime. He was “training” away from camp early this year and everything about that decision looks bad. To me, I don’t think he put in the work, developed the stamina or put on the muscle-mass he needed to take the next steps.
  19. I would agree regarding Williams the '87 squad but "decent" doesn't quite do justice to Rypien and his efforts in '91. Of course it's a team effort, and the O-line & receivers were stellar, but Rypien was certainly no detriment to an offense that torched through the opposing defenses that year! Yeah, he was overachieving and perhaps the whole squad was but damn, they put up some ridiculous numbers..
  20. Well said. I feel bad for RR but he's a grown man and knew he was taking on a tall order. So be it. Whether he knew just how toxic the undercurrent was at the Park is a question only he can answer. Snyder, Brucifer and years of mind-numbing incompetence aside, we have to find a franchise QB if we're ever going to be relevant again..
