  1. I’m more than happy to let the brain trust figure out their plan for the future but holy cow, if that’s the way it pans out, what a game with mad intrigue for Commanders fans!!
  2. Someone posted earlier that when the Ravens last played the Lions, MacDonald ran rings around Johnson! Seems Mac’s scheme has real teeth and he does it without an abundance of high end talent to boot. Take that with a pinch if you want but I’m more than intrigued by the potential of Mac as HC
  3. Glad the Niners are through but mad respect for the Packers and many, many thanks for destroying the Cryboys along the way
  4. That was then and this is now. The game evolved. Even 2.0 was out of touch with the modern game and we were treated to Al Saunders 500 pg play book. Under center, pistol and shotgun, heck even wildcat.. defenses should be FORCED to prepare and cover all
  5. This is slightly off topic and not meant to derail the convo but I’m not sure I could stomach another conversion to a 3-4 defense if for example, Mike MacDonald were to arrive on the doorstep. The front 7 is set to undergo a major rebuild regardless but do we need a repeat of the turmoil created when Shanny tried the same? It set the whole “era” off on the wrong track, IMO
  6. Same thing with Johnson or Slowik or (insert name of young coordinator) as HC, right? Can’t help thinking Morris having held that that position before and reputedly an outstanding “leader of men” and a rock, just might be the man they go with if they truly believe/want what they’re saying.
  7. Final decisions on what tho’? Are you suggesting Shanahan has the power to over rule decisions on FA, trade or draft acquisitions and contracts, etc?
  8. Feels like a Rick & Carl meme waiting to be made!
  9. You dismiss him for winning only one Super Bowl??? How incredibly shallow of you
  10. Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien would like a word
  11. Curious why Rivera had his team in their whites today? Did he feel like this would be a home game for Dalarse?
  12. “Get stuck with Maye” is a very odd/curious choice of words considering he could be the safest of the three overall. Add to that the move from 4 to 2 would cost a 1st rd pick (20th approx) or multiple 2nd/3rd rd picks in this or next years draft and this hypothetical trade scenario would go down as one of the teams greatest ever
  13. Surely the good news for all our young players is that competent coaches are on the horizon. Yeah that’s an assumption but we have to believe things are going to be better, right? As for Howell, he’s too young, talented, cheap & tough just to discard so nonchalantly. We’re going to need 3 QBs going into camp and there’s every reason to believe he should be one of those
  14. I would expect, or at minimum hope, that in this scenario the new DC would be asked for opinions on choosing the right OC hire. After all, the DC would be better positioned to measure the effectiveness of the OC system in question and the overall cohesiveness of the top structure would be better served.
  15. Re: Cheeseman .. Washington continues to be a club where careers go to die. Been like that for decades now and darn near impossible to break the cycle. We can only hope Harris and his hires can figure it out. Re: Howell .. Looking more and more likely the team will look to the draft for their QB of the future but if Howell’s career turns out to be above average backup, he’ll still be part of the long term solution and good value for a 5th rd pick
  16. Just had a chance to watch Ron’s post game press. The whole thing just came off as morose. He’s become this dead inside caricature of himself.. This can’t end soon enough
  17. You’re right of course, but it’s not hard to imagine Putin thinking “eff it, this craps gone on long enough and my army is spent”. Sue for peace, redraw the maps as they are now and winner, winner chicken dinner!
  18. Heck, I want tackle & guard picks for the first 2 out of the gate, although I’d settle for 2 out of the three highest picks. If things keep tracking in the current direction, Howell will either finish the year in traction or become the most valuable asset the team has. Perhaps both! Regardless, the line needs a huge infusion of talent.
  19. It’s almost sounds like Ron was waiting for NY to make the call for him. It’s also a coaching faux pas that not only helps decide the game but also Ron’s future with the team. He has to know that tonight..
  20. Don’t they all? For over 30 years Washington has been a club where careers go to die. I don’t blame any of them (coaches or players) wanting out
