  1. Loverro has as well. Those + the stability of his knee make me think we don’t want to be the sucker handing him a long term deal
  2. I understand he is a gamewrecker but I see any team coming to an agreement with him being extremely difficult due to the knee. He is going to want a long term deal with a lot of guaranteed money and teams are going to want to give him a short term deal/low guaranteed money due to the knee. Let us not be the team dealing with the BS and let's trade him too. Our downside case here is that there are a number of starting caliber mid level pass rushers who are FAs who will cost half or less than these guys - Epenesa, Armstrong, Z. Smith, Floyd, Davenport, etc. Can scoop two of these guys up if needed
  3. Given the contract extension Rashan Gary just got, it becomes even more imperative to move Sweat. Don't want to pay that guy $25M+ a year
  4. I don’t either. Yes it was 52 passes but so much of it was quick passing game getting guys in space. What a dinosaur like Loverro doesn’t get is that the volume of passing opened up the run game and so many of those rushing yards came on on one run. I do think it was a mistake, however, not giving Rodriguez some carries
  5. I would love to get him or London for a 2nd (and more if needed) this offseason. At the very least, I give their FO credit for focusing their first round picks on offense - Pitts, London and Bijan
  6. It is also an opportunity to see what we have in the two rookie ends and see whether they can provide depth for next year.
  7. I agree. This is a team that got to 8-8-1 last year with Heinicke at QB. There is talent. The issue is there is no true blue chip talent. Fortify the OL and be opportunistic using picks to pick up true blue chip 1st team All Pro types as the 9ers, Eagles and Dolphins have done
  8. Keim has hinted at it. Chase’s knee is a ticking time bomb - teams are worried that it’ll hold up over the rest of the season never mind a long term contract
  9. This is the likely outcome. Sweat is the safer guy for a team to want to give an extension to. If a team is able to come to an extension agreement with him ahead of the deadline, we should be able to do better than a 3rd. ATL has a great shot at making something happen given they have a great shot at the playoffs this year and Sweat is from there
  10. If Allen brings you back a first or a 2nd and more, you move him. Let Payne play three technique full time. Allows you the opportunity to keep both Sweat and Young too
  11. Teams know they have us by the balls due to Young and Sweat expiring at the same time. The Broncos didn’t have that issue. A 2nd and a 4th from the Bears for Young would be a solid haul
  12. As much as I like Samuel and what he has done, one of the arguments for not resigning him are to let Jahan play in the slot. They need a bigger receiver on the outside to complement Terry and Jahan
  13. You’ve gotta wonder how much Ron influenced late round picks. It is a shame, for example, that Mayock gets so much flak for his draft record in Vegas when Gruden apparently took over Day 1 and 2 and then let Mayock do his thing Day 3 where he found guys like Crosby and Renfrow
  14. Haha. I was wondering that. You had a great point that Steichen was the brains of the offensive operation recently
  15. Yep. This is what we are contending with unfortunately. It would serve us well for Howell to get back to having games like the one against Philly the first go around and the second half of the Denver game. Regarding competing against the Chargers for a HC, we have everything going for us except the QB and location (except for Ben Johnson, who is from Asheville)
  16. Yep. I think both Slowik and Drew Petzig are guys who should be considered. I’m impressed by how competitive the AZ offense has been so far with Dobbs and, if Kyler plays well, his stock will go higher. With Slowik, I am curious about his personality. He worked for PFF - is he just a smart analytical dude or is he a leader too? This take doesn’t make sense. You really can’t get a guy to leave his job in the summer right before the season. He is not going to be able to bring his staff too. You would be limiting yourselves to guys outside of football
  17. Doesn’t matter. He is an older guy who is a rental. No one sees him as a no. 1 corner. He is worth somewhere between a 4th or 6th
  18. Ben Johnson is at the top of everyone’s lists. It is going to be a dogfight to get him to come here.
  19. He always had a strong leg - he’d boot the ball past the end zone on the kickoffs even before they moved the line up. His issue was always accuracy.
  20. The reason La'el has not been signed by anyone yet is because he wants a boatload of money. I'm not sure they can fit him in under the cap.
  21. You stick Lucas in and move Wylie inside. Anything else is hubris. Unfortunately, due to his deal, you are probably stuck with Wylie another year anyway so may as well see what he has at guard and, hopefully, he looks at least decent there
  22. A reason for trading picks for players is 1) getting access to players who otherwise would never make it to free agency and 2) getting guys midway through their deals and having the other team deal with the original cap hit of the signing bonus
