Major Harris
No I didn't. That kid is mammoth (6'3", 280). 2 stars though on Rivals..so let's hope he can find some of his pops in him. Playing at a 2a school in wv doesn't help. From the message board stuff i read, this is almost a recruiting tool for little brother.

The Evil Genius
I was a little surprised to not see a single vote for WVU. Especially coming off a 9 win season and with a lot of the offense back.

jpage520
Is it gonna be Howard under center? If I'm not mistaken Grier can't play until next year right?
The Evil Genius
Best case it's Skyler from the Bowl Game. Worst case, it's Skyler the TO machine from earlier that season and then Chugs or someone as his replacement.  I think it's Will Grier's to lose though the next year.  Either way, I'd think a 9 win that returns almost the entire offense would get some considerations from the voters. But I do agree with Major..WVU seems to do better without expectations.  Now they have to get through Mizzou, YSU, and BYU in Spetember before the B12 schedule starts.
jpage520
Personal hypothesis is that outside of OU they're hesitant to rank many Big XII teams too high. I think a lot of teams in the conference are lacking defensively in comparison to the rest of the P5. Just honest opinion, not taking any shots here. The Big XII just tends to specialize more in high octane offense.
The Evil Genius
I don't think much of the NCAAF plays defense anymore. Not with hurry up spread offenses and ridiculous passing games. Remember when the SEC was a defensive league?
jpage520
I agree for the most part. But The Bamas, the Clemsons, and the LSUs of the world still definitely put a heavy emphasis on strong defense.

Especially coming off a 9 win season and with a lot of the offense back.  I was not surprised at all.  Our QB is still suspect, we lost our best offensive and defensive players (Smallwood and Joseph), plus Worley, Kwit and KJ Dillon, all drafted.

The Evil Genius
Have no idea if they have a lot of returners this year, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Liberty play Tech tough this weekend. They've kept a lot of their FBS games close every year. Plus its a first game under a new coach, etc for Tech. Also, I'm curious to see if Houston presents a lot of problems for Oklahoma this weekend.
The Evil Genius
It's already a forgone conclusion that the B12 is going to expand (by 2, 4, or even 6). But probably by 2 teams. If I has to guess..right now I think Houston and Memphis are the best bets. BYU is a bigger name, but they bring a lot of problems for conferences to deal with (scheduling, social policies, etc).
