I don't really track it other than just kinda rough estimate adding up everything I eat most days. I probably should be as I'm curious. Not like it's to difficult to track that I usually have a protein shake, couple eggs, n some type of chicken or pork dish. 🤣

Condiments, oils and sauces can real pack on the calories.  e.g a tablespoon of butter or mayo is 100,

As for me, I wouldn't find it hard to dust off 1500 calories in a single meal.  In fact most restaurant meals that aren't salads and lean protein/vegetables are probably easily about that (Ironically the good thing about fast food is you look up how much calories that stuff is, most restaurants, no such luck so you have to estimate). So even if I were to have a small breakfast/lunch(lets say 500 calories each), I blow past 2500 quite easily.  Then you add in the snacking in between.

I find it hard to ditch the snacking so I try to have smaller meals - usually no more than 600, sometimes can go as low as 300 especially for breakfast.  Then its maybe a small snack in between.  If I don't eat breakfast early I can normally make to lunch.   But between lunch and dinner is just way too long to have nothing.  Coffee helps!  But I have to add a bit of cream ...

Of course. I go on a crash diet every 8 weeks….book an appointment with my barber. 😂😂

8 weeks. What kind of degenerate hippy waits that long for a haircut.

You guys complaining about grey crack me up.  That can easily fixed with some dying, and doesn't look all that bad for most anyway.

I've gone a couple years since my hair was last trimmed.  I've balanced it out by growing a handlebar.

Balding on the hand sucks donkey nuts

My regular hair grows fast, my grey hairs somehow grow faster.

Doesn't bother me, I like not getting ID'd so can go about my life and not having to worry about someone asking me where my binky is at work, I've been this for a while, now folks just look at me and figure I know what im doing.

I do not miss ES having our age under our post count.

On topic: this country needs universal health care and for it to cover liphosuction, not another miracle pill that *checks notes* gives best results with the diet and exercise you need to do anyway to lose the weight in the first place.

Some folks just don't have time to work out even if they want to, heart disease is leading cause of death in this country, be pragmatic for a change...

Does Liposuction actually reduce heart-related risks?

By itself, no, but getting that weight off is a huge start to get to a lifestyle that can be maintained that reduces heart disease versus having to work so long and at certain age risk easily back slipping that causes some people not to try and just stay obese.

It can take me 2 weeks to lose 10 pounds and couple days to get it back, im not obese, but the struggle is real.

Liposuction doesn’t really move the needle very much to have any measurable effects. It can only remove a very small amount of subcutaneous fat.

Its mostly for models and actresses who are trying to fight genetics and aging.

If you’re pressed for time I would try HIT cardio and/or weights.  And track your food

I imagine it would take multiple sessions for someone who is obese then?

Folks need help, im all for people taking personal responsibility for their health, but once someone gets to a certain weight it is hard as hell and can take a considerable amount of time to get it off.

Look how long it takes for some folks to say they lost 100 pounds, and then look at the direction the percentage of our country is and currently heading towards obestiy.

It's time to open a multiple front war in this issue, its literally killing us.  Was reading article yesterday in the Times that the life expectancy difference in this country been folks with a college a degree and without one is nearly 8 years.  This is way worse then we think it is.

Just put this in the state ranking thread:

America Keeps Getting Fatter — These Are the Heaviest States of All

West Virginia (41%), Louisiana (40.1%) and Oklahoma (40%) are the states with the fattest populations in the nation, laying claim to the highest proportion of adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 40% or greater, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“The latest data from CDC is looking grim,” says Jamie Bussel of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, a health-based philanthropic organization. “Twenty-two states had an adult obesity rate at or above 35%. And that was up from 19 states the year before. And when we look back a decade ago, no states had an adult obesity rate at or above 35%. So yes, clearly, when you look at the numbers, they’re not going in the right direction.”

In addition to West Virginia, Louisiana and Oklahoma, the 22 states with an obesity rate of 35% or higher are Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

I have been on Ozempic for almost 4 years now. I will tell you the weight loss at first quick and amazing. I lost over 80 pounds in about 6 months after starting it. Then it just kinda stops. I held on to the same weight for about 2 years. Then I started to put the weight back on. That is when the FDA approved the big dose of 2mg once a week. I was thinking maybe this will help me lose the weight again. The Answer is no! It seems Ozempic is really good for a quick 6-12 months of good weight loss. I will tell you after a year of the 2mg dose. Man the stomach side effects were terrible. Sulfur burps, really smelly farts, stomach cramps. I had never taken Gas-x in my entire life. I was googling on how to release gas. It felt like a had the biggest gas bubble. It also felt like if you could take the big number 2 everything would be better. That is what would evently happen. And you would feel better for about 1-2 days and then it was time to take your weekly dose. The only way to stop it this cycle was to "reset" your self skip a dose. When this started to happen I never thought it was the Ozempic due to me being on it for so long and the big dose for over a year. My Endo was like yep it is the Ozempic, start bring down the 2mg dose. I am back down to the 1mg dose, if I happen to slightly go over the 1mg, I have the stomach pains.

I really wish they wouldnt prescribe this for weight loss, because it is so hard to get for us diabetics that actually need it.

I wonder how the ranking of fat states, coincides with the ranking of education and political leanings.

I believe you already know the answer to this question and just waiting for the stats to corroberate and prove it...which is fair...

I would certainly assume a correlation, but didn't know.

The islands are full of obese and diabetic people. Every meal has 3 starches and everything is packed with sugar. Education is terrible, but we lean very left.

Unfortunately there is no surgery to simply remove fat in most cases.  There is bariatric surgery to reduce the size of the stomach.  This can reduce hunger, but you can still overeat if you are a food addict.  Watch some episodes of my 600 pound life.  The patients have to lose weight before he can do surgery.  They say it’s because it’s too dangerous, but I really think the doctor wants to be sure the patients can stick to a diet before he can justify a surgery

In some cases the very overweight people can lose 50 or more pounds in a single month.  This makes sense, a larger person is going to be able to lose weight because their TDEE for equal activity level is going to be much higher - in these cases 6000 calories or more.

I have been obese since puberty.  I was very close to being simply overweight twice , but fell odd the wagon for a few reasons . Hopefully this tracking an approach allows me to change that for good, because there is literally nothing I can’t eat.  Only the amounts matter, along adequate protein intake.

The  bottom line is often tasty foods are generally unhealthy while healthy foods are usually meh. Especially without prep. Diets are hard to stick to,  It’s like if you get have the choice between sex with a supermodel/porn star/whatever vs sex with an ordinary person.

On top of tap at, we work jobs which are mentally fatiguing but not physically fatiguing.  At the end of the day it gets hard to work up the energy to exercise.

I think this need to change in early.  Childhood obesity is increasing, and obese children generally become obese adults.  Michelle Obama tried to fight this battle and lost,  The food companies are just very powerful. Schools districts don’t want to spend the time and money to healthy food.  Adults are busy and dont pack healthy lunches or make healthy breakfasts or dinners
