The thing to keep in mind is that our palates change, sometimes a few times a day. What tastes great one day, doesn't taste good another day...it happens all the time. That's why I don't give up on a bottle until I've had a few pours. That works out great for our son, because he likes whiskey and he gets the bottles that I give up on. I just gave him a bottle of Bib & Tucker, and Tarnished Truth, so I think the little **** is hoping that I don't like some of the stuff I buy.
