They have so few people now looking after the systems infrastructure that I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even know how much strain their servers are under currently. Yeah there's automation for that, but you have to have people who understand the output, and most of them were let go. But I suppose it's possible. But IMO it's at least as possible that Elon suddenly decided it would be a good thing to try and told them to do it, with typically poor results. I do have an account but I usually only get on maybe a couple of times a week at this point. It's so inundated with right wing conspiracy theorists and nazis now that I'm getting sick of seeing their garbage. I also occasionally get into arguments on there, usually with said right wing conspiracy theorists. And it never goes anywhere. It's essentially me banging my head against a brick wall for a couple of hours for zero net gain.
