Not sure how accurate this is, but this Wilson trade takes Denver out of the Wentz speculation.

Thank ****ing god. I know some delusional fan boys they can have in that trade.

This is the first tweet this offseason even acknowledging that we even have a QB on the roster.  :ols:

And as desperate as we are for a QB, I might pass on that. Because you'll also need to pay Watson $45m a year. And replace Young. And have no 1st round picks for 3 years to replenish talent. Idk. I would be happy to have Watson.

I just want to do it "right" though. Can we finally hit on a QB? Willis feels like a "hit" for me. Corral too, to a lesser extent. But there's huge risk and downside as well. Oye.

I can't see any other way are offer would be good enough. We don't have as many picks as other teams.

If they strike out on Watson and Carr and it looks like they'd have to give up a boatload to move up to grab Willis, a smart play may be to flip the 2nd round pick for Love & trade this year's first for a 2nd and a future first and another Day 2 or Day 3 pick.

You then get to see if Love can be the guy. If not, you'll have 2 1sts to move up to grab Stroud or Bryce Young in 2023 or you have the assets to trade for Carr if he hits the market then

We might need to get creative beyond "we gotta compete for a super bowl in 2022 with a top QB" and "the future is in this draft at QB" because we might need to kick the can down the road another year while trying to at least be competent (so Ron keeps his job).

BUT, my concern there is we won't be in a position to access a top QB in the draft if we are mediocre. Gotta get future 1's.

Trade 11 for a late 1st and 1st in 2023. And yeah, load up on offense and trade for Jordan Love. Or hope Winston breaks out. Or Mariota. And at least you have multiple 1's in 2023.

That's better IMO than sending 3 #1s for Derek Carr, 100 out of 100.

I guess what I am saying is I would rather draft a QB at 11 and pair him with Mriota/Winston ... OR ... trade back from #11 ... get future 1's ... load up on offense this draft. And hope the QB of the future is attainable next year. If not, try again in 2024. At this rate, what's 1-2 years. Screwing up and trading for Carr only delays the super bowl window another 6-8 years.

Yep. To your point, I would make that trade for Love and I would also pull in a competent veteran willing to come here. Getting Love would rule out Trubisky but maybe you can go get a Tyrod Taylor.

That's BS and they have to be joking around

As of right now, the starting quarterbacks of the AFC South are:

Davis Mills

Trevor Lawrence

Ryan Tannehill

Carson Wentz

There is no way in hell I'd give #11 up in this years draft for Wentz.  But he's slowly becoming the "best" of the realistic options.

Actually think Love would be cheaper than a 2nd. There appears to be no market for him. I'm not even sure he's the answer here, but maybe worth a shot at least.

Trade 11 to Pittsburgh for 20 and a 1st. Trade 20 for a 2nd and a 1st. Go into 2023 with 3 #1s ... Gotta have trade partners, but that would by my all-out move at this point if Ron misses on Watson.

Told y'all Russ is a douchebag.

Well, put yourself in his shoes. Would you rather go to Washington, with its piece of **** owner, dilapidated stadium and outdated training facilities, or to Denver with it's beautiful views and mountains of weed?

Easy choice.

To your point, my proposed trade of #11 is too conservative. I think you may be able to find a team like TB that may be willing to move up from the late 1st to get a Pickett or Corral at #11 and get their 2023 1st out of them as well.

Someone should tweet to Chris Ballard that Heinicke beat Brady and Turners scheme prevented Heinicke from having an MVP season

I want to agree on Love's trade value but, given all the QB needy teams, I see at least one team giving up a 2nd for him. I'd love to do a 3rd + Payne but it'll likely have to be a 2nd.

Also Indy is desperate and needs some sort of answer at QB. If they like Pickett, maybe you get their 2nd and 3rd this year and their 1st next year. I love the idea of having the 1st round pick of a team with a rookie QB. Odds are that team will underperform and the pick will be high a la the pick the Giants got from the Bears for Fields

The value of the acquiring team when trading for a top tier QB is the underlying coup of all; Wilson will count 10%  (24 and 27mil) against the cap the next two season for Denver.

Yes, he will get a new deal at some point, but I imagine the idea is to compete for SBs the next two seasons while having a borderline elite QB at modest cost.

Too late now, but seeing the numbers now would’ve put me in a more bullish position to trade for Wilson. This is similar to Watson, he becomes a financial asset to the team that acquires his services.

I don’t want wentz. He is not worth a pick, better to get a FA Qb for free

In a few weeks, you very well may be able to get Wentz for free. Seemed like he burned his bridge pretty well in Indy.

I don't want him either.
