Not sure if this has already been said but moving Landon Collins to more of LB roll has turned this defense around. They're playing so much better. Kam Curl needs to play every snap. Jamin Davis is still a weak spot for now but hopefully he will get better

Please for the Love of God do not have Collins trying to cover ANYBODY in the passing game!  Especially not MaCaffrey!  What the hell JDR?!?!? If he's not blitzing then he should not be on the field in an obvious passing situation.  Just go with another db!  I'd rather see Apke covering than Collins.  That's how bad Collins is.

Davis is making progress.  Wait till the game slows down for him.

I don't think Collins has been some great LB, he's just not a complete liability like he was at Safety.

It means we probably don’t resign both of them. Maybe just one of them.

Knowing Snyder, he probably overpays both and it doesn't work out and it costs us some good players. I think we'd all prefer a product NE is turning out up there with their D being underrated and underappreciated with no big names garnering the spotlight and just producing over hype and lack of production.

Is it coincidence that the defense has taken off since Collins moved to LB...or some semblance of a hybrid? I like seeing him playing in the box with two legit safeties behind him.

Logan Paulson on the radio the other day said the front is playing their gap assignments. They were all over the place during the 1st half of the season. He also said Cam was better at coverage and Collins at the LB position. Don't think that is going to change since it has improved the D.

Collins was sooo bad at Safety that simply removing him from thats pot was a huge upgrade. But the big thing is now Curl gets full time snaps there and he's actually a legitimately good player at that position.

Collins himself at LB is...fine. Nothing spectacular.

At the beginning of the year, we had 2 DEs running around trying to make plays, instead of doing their jobs. We had Collins roaming around acting like he was on college fresh legs and smarter than everyone, when he wasn't. We had McCain who had no idea what he was suppose to do. WJIII didn't even know where the **** he was half the time and Davis still in shock that he was drafted and in the pros and Holcomb trying to herd cats.

Now we have sound play from the line. A SS that plays smart and can see the field and waits for things to happen. McCain understands and trusts the guys around him. WJIII knows where he is and is healthy. Fuller playing great outside and the game slowing down for Davis, while Holcomb is able to just line up and play.

I still can't believe how low WJ3's football IQ is. The other stuff I can kinda sorda understand but I can't for the life of me fathom how WJ3 couldn't struggled with his assignment so regularly. Playing CB in this defense can't possibly be that difficult.

You forgot we also had Bostic who knew where he needed to be, but just wasn’t fast enough to get there

I don’t know how accurate this all is, but that is a fantastic description that matches my perception exactly.  LOL

Swolecomb has some interesting stories to tell.

Grew 3 inches and gained 45 pounds during the summer before his Senior year in High School, and his best friend on the team literally didn't recognized him, and introduced himself to Cole, "Hi, I'm Dwayne". Cole's like, "Dude, it's me, Cole".

Then the guy visits his house and searches everywhere determined to find Cole's secret sauce for his growth, goin thru his fridge, and found Cole's gramma's insulin, and his friend was convinced that was the steroids, and was like "AHA, this is what you been taking".

Was a walkon at UNC. Started out as 5th string. Almost didn't even get that chance, as it was mainly because the whole coaching staff was turned over.

Him and Payne are so special together.

His power is amazing.  Incredibly good and heavy hands, and he is very creative.  That was a clinic he put on the left side of that Giants line.  Beat them every way you can beat somebody.  Power, quickness, jumping on openings when the OLs stood up and got confused.

He's become my favorite player on the team to watch and pull for.  I am so glad we got his contract extended.

The both of them are just playing in such great rhythm right now. Payne generally takes the center with his guard and leaves Allen 1 on 1 and when they don't double Payne, he gets through, but just isn't quick enough to get the sacks, but he gets through the line a ton. Makes me think he'll eventually improve on that front.

Allen is just unstoppable this year against the pass and run. I'm glad our ends are who they are this week, because the interior of the Seahawks is garbage and Wilson should be forced to leave the pocket pretty often. They also can't run the ball for ****, so we should be able to just attack Wilson.

I hope we get Shaka back this week ?

We could use the athleticism back on the ends once in a while.

Another Hang Time goodie here - the first ever Hang Time show, actually. Featuring Big Leak. A couple things you may not know about Big Leak -

He and Tress seem to have a strong bond, and Leak always has his back.

And Tress asked the Bills' specialists after the game, what their plan was against our Special Teams and they just said, "We were told to just WATCH OUT FOR #47"

What a compliment. Not sure if he'll be a great LB, but he seems to be a special Special Teamer.

Glad he's good on Teams, because he's a terrible LBer.
