China
Rep. Liz Cheney: Jan. 6 committee got around 800,000 pages from Secret Service Rep. Liz Cheney said the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol received around 800,000 pages of communication materials from the Secret Service, but she noted that most text messages from around that date, which the committee had requested, were not recovered. "The texts themselves, in many cases, are gone or other forms of communication, like Teams messages and emails, and other forms of communication we have received probably about 800,000 pages," Cheney, R-Wyo., said Saturday at the Texas Tribune Festival. The committee investigating the attack on the Capitol subpoenaed the Secret Service in July for text messages agents reportedly deleted around Jan. 6, 2021. The Secret Service deleted messages from Jan. 5 and 6 after the Department of Homeland Security's inspector general had requested the records. The missing text messages could have corroborated the June testimony of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson. She testified that former Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Tony Ornato told her there was a confrontation between former President Donald Trump and his Secret Service detail in Trump's vehicle on Jan. 6. Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., said on CBS' "Face the Nation," referencing the documents that the Secret Service gave to the committee that "these are still not the text messages that were discussed before, but these seem to be communications internally amongst staff members. So, there's a lot of information that our investigative team has been going through." Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said on NBC's "Meet the Press," Sunday, that Wednesday's hearing will focus on details that have been brought to the committee over the last five or six weeks. China
Jan. 6 ‘Truth’ Rally at Capitol Fails Spectacularly When the far-right blog The Gateway Pundit said a Jan. 6 rally in support of Capitol rioters on Saturday afternoon would be the “biggest J6 event to date,” crowds were expected. But instead of big crowds, the “Truth Rally” attracted around the same number of counter-protesters as rally attendees—a few dozen, at best. The event on Capitol grounds, organized and attended by a cornucopia of far-right groups with a variety of missions, predominantly attracted right-wing members of what was once “The People’s Convoy,” now better known as the 1776 Restoration Movement. And on Saturday, organizers rallied “to stand united against the political persecution of the January 6th political prisoners.” As upside-down flags waved in the wind overlooking the Capitol building, 1776 Restoration Movement leader David “Santa” Riddell brushed off the violent crimes carried out on that dark winter day by “political prisoners.” “To treat everybody just because they are part of a day like they were vicious criminals...I know they’re not,” he told The Daily Beast when asked about the Jan. 6 defendant who allegedly attempted to beat a police officer with a metal bat. China
Everybody's got a book. A lot of people getting rich off of this... Roger Stone's links to Jan. 6 revealed after panel IDs his phone number in 'Manhattan Madam' call logs: new book The House select committee mapped out a detailed overview of Roger Stone's contacts after identifying his phone number. The longtime Republican political operative refused to turn over his contacts to the committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection, but panel members worked backwards through his associates and were able to identify his number after obtaining the call records of "Manhattan Madam" Kristin Davis, according to excerpts from a new book published by The Guardian. Davis, who went to prison for running a high-end prostitution ring and dealing drugs in the 2000s, was with Stone at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 5 and 6, 2021, and had previously lived with Stone, who had previously managed her ill-fated campaign for New York governor in 2010. After identifying his number, investigators learned that Stone had called Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio before and after Jan. 6, and he called Oath Keepers chief Stewart Rhodes nine days after the U.S. Capitol attack. Both Tarrio and Rhodes have been charged with seditious conspiracy for allegedly planning the attack. Calls from Stone's number were also made to a number of Republicans involved in the scheme to overturn the 2020 election results, including Texas attorney general Ken Paxton and Arthur Schwartz, an aide to Donald Trump Jr.
88Comrade2000
Well, Wednesday is another hearing. Time is running out for the 1/6 panel. Since October is campaign time, can’t see much happening. After the election, especially with the gop likely taking over in January , doubt they do much in the lame duck period. Just make a report. China
Ex-Marine Described by Witness as ‘Huge White Supremacist’ and ‘a Complete Wacko’ Admits to Jan. 6 Assault on Cops A former U.S. Marine described by one government witness as a “huge white supremacist” pleaded guilty on Monday to assaulting law enforcement with a dangerous weapon during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Daniel Ray Caldwell, a 51-year-old from The Colony, Texas, was seen deploying orange chemical spray on police at around 2:05 p.m. Eastern Time, on the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol. “Caldwell was within the barricaded area and was in prohibited space,” his statement of offense reads. “A line of officers was formed in front of Daniel Ray Caldwell and he stepped forward and sprayed the line of officers with chemical irritant spray. The chemical irritant was capable of causing serious bodily injury.” According to his 12-page plea agreement, Caldwell’s federal sentencing call for a term of 63 months to 78 months of imprisonment, or roughly 5.25 years to 6.5 years. The maximum sentence for his offense is 20 years. The actual sentence will be determined by U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly. Initially arrested on Feb. 10, 2021, Caldwell will be sentenced a little less than two years later: Feb. 1, 2023. The cooperation clause of his plea agreement does not appear to call for him to testify against other defendants in Jan. 6-related trials. The witness who alleged that Caldwell is a white supremacist described recognizing him from Airsoft Military Simulation (MilSim), described in court papers as a “live-action, in-person simulation of armed conflict scenarios conducted by civilians that involve airsoft plastic projectiles launched be replica weapons.” The game does not involve actual firearms. Identifying Caldwell from videos posted on YouTube and ProPublica, the witness — whose name is shielded as W1 in court papers — also called the defendant “a complete wacko.” Click on the link for the full article

China
On 8/30/2022 at 3:43 PM, China said: Trump adds former Florida solicitor general to legal team working Mar-a-Lago probe Former President Donald Trump has hired Chris Kise, Florida’s former solicitor general, to represent him in the criminal investigation related to the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago resort in early August. Kise has extensive experience with major trials and appeals and has successfully argued four Supreme Court cases. Kise, described as a “fixture in Florida Republican politics,” comes from the firm Foley and Lardner. As of Tuesday morning, Kise was no longer listed on the firm’s website. Click on the link for the full article This guy that Trump paid $3M upfront isn't even on the case anymore: Newest addition to Trump’s legal team sidelined in Mar-a-Lago search case The newest addition to former President Donald Trump’s legal team, Chris Kise, has been sidelined from the Mar-a-Lago documents investigation less than a month after he was brought on to represent Trump in the matter, two sources familiar with the move tell CNN. Kise is expected to remain on Trump’s legal team but is not leading the work related to the federal government’s investigation into how the former President handled 11,000 documents seized from his Florida home in August following a lengthy effort by the government to retrieve them. The reason for the shift in Kise’s role remains unclear and he may instead focus his efforts on the other investigations Trump is facing, which range from his business practices to the January 6 insurrection. The move is notable given Kise, the former solicitor general for Florida, was brought on to the team after a weeks-long search and struggle to find someone willing to take on the case who was also experienced in Florida law. The legal strategy for fighting the Justice Department following the August seizure of over 100 documents marked as classified was also in disarray. Kise’s hiring came with an unusual price tag of $3 million, paid for by Trump’s outside spending arm. The retainer fee, paid upfront, raised eyebrows among other lawyers on Trump’s team, given the former President has a developed a reputation for not paying his legal fees. China
Trump-Appointed IG Confiscated Cellphones Of 24 Secret Service Agents Involved In Jan 6 Response On Tuesday, NBC News reported that senior leadership at the Secret Service confiscated the cellphones of 24 agents involved in the agency’s response to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol and handed them over to the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general in July. Citing two sources with knowledge of the action, the news outlet reported that the agency handed over the phones “shortly after” a July 19 letter was sent by Inspector General Joseph Cuffari’s office around the time he launched a criminal probe into the Secret Service’s missing text messages from Jan. 6, the sources said. The revelation that Cuffari had access to the phones since late July is significant and raises new questions about the progress and authenticity of his criminal investigation into the missing text messages and what, if anything, the public may be able to learn about communications between agents on Jan. 6, 2021. Earlier in July, Cuffari told Congress that his office was unable to obtain text messages from agents’ cellphones that it sought as part of its investigation into the Secret Service response to the insurrection, saying that the texts were lost as part of a “previously planned systems upgrade that essentially restored the phones to factory settings.” His explanation prompted a pair of key congressional Democrats to call on Cuffari to step aside from his office’s investigation into the Secret Service, saying the Trump appointee knew earlier than has been reported that the agency deleted text messages from around the time of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Click on the link for the full article Not sure why they don't fire Cuffari, and replace him with someone who isn't corrupt and/or appointed by Trump. 1

It's why so many lawyers hired by TFG disappear after a few weeks or months. It's not the winning. It's their own legal jeopardy. TFG, before he was elected, settled some civil lawsuits with the federal government. I'm sure he thinks that he can do the same now. He may not realize that he's now facing the power of state and federal government criminal charges, a completely different legal system than civil lawsuits.

China
Kyle Fitzsimons found guilty of all 11 charges related to Capitol riot A man charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot has been found guilty by a judge in a D.C. courtroom Tuesday on all 11 counts. Kyle Fitzsimons, 39, of Lebanon, Maine, was charged with seven felonies and four misdemeanor counts, according to court documents corroborated by a news release from the Department of Justice. The release states Fitzsimons' was found guilty of seven felony charges: One count of obstruction of an official proceeding; Four counts of assaulting, resisting, or impeding law enforcement officers, including two involving a dangerous weapon or bodily injury; One count of interfering with a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder; One count of engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds. Fitzsimons was also found guilty of four misdemeanor charges: Entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; Disorderly conduct in a Capitol Building or grounds; Committing an act of violence in the Capitol Building or grounds. According to the news release, the felony charges carry a total of 91 maximum years in prison, and the four misdemeanor offenses carry a maximum of three years in prison. Both felony and misdemeanor charges carry the potential for financial penalties. U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras announced the decision in the bench trial, without a jury, per Fitzsimons' request. "Mr. Fitzsimons' fervent belief in the lies he was being told about the election is truly saddening, and to be sure much of the blame for the offense that day rests with the people in positions of power who spread those lies," Contreras said during the verdict. According to the news release and earlier reporting, Fitzsimons was wearing a white butcher's jacket and a fur pelt when he "hurled an unstrung bow like a spear" at a group of law enforcement officers. "The object hit an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department in the ballistic helmet and bounced off. Fitzsimons reached for and made forcible contact with an MPD detective immediately before another rioter sprayed him with a chemical agent," the release states. "Fitzsimons also tried to pull a fallen officer into the mob. A sergeant from the U.S. Capitol Police tried to protect the fallen officer into the mob. A sergeant from the U.S. Capitol Police tried to protect the fallen officer, and Fitzsimons grappled with him, pulling on his shield and shoulder strap, causing injuries to the sergeant's shoulder that necessitated surgery. Finally, Fitzsimons twice charged [at] the group of officers, wildly swinging his fists. He eventually retreated." Fitzsimons was arrested Feb. 4, 2021, and is expected to be sentenced Feb. 17, 2023.
