Yes.

On a related note, I had never heard of Massie before Christmas.  He must have hired new PR as he attempts to portray himself as the dumbest person in Congress.

How the **** Massie got into, let alone, through MIT in the mid 1990s without a lick of common sense is beyond me.

Proof that good education is meaningless if the person is a ****ing asshat.

Fauci: U.S. heading out of "full-blown pandemic phase"

COVID-19 pandemic restrictions could end "soon," even as early as this year, NIAID director Anthony Fauci told the Financial Times in an interview published Tuesday.

The big picture: Fauci explained that he does not believe "we are going to eradicate this virus," but said that it will instead reach an "equilibrium."

"I hope we are looking at a time when we have enough people vaccinated and enough people with protection from previous infection that the COVID restrictions will soon be a thing of the past," Fauci said.

Fauci added that he hoped restrictions would end "soon," agreeing with a suggestion that they could largely end this year.

As case counts fall, WHO chief warns "COVID isn't finished"

The head of the World Health Organization insisted Wednesday that “COVID isn't finished with us,” appealing for more support to fight the pandemic after his agency reported that case counts and deaths fell worldwide over the past week.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, launching a new $23 billion campaign to fund WHO's efforts to lead a fair rollout of COVID-19 tests, treatments and vaccines around the world, cautioned that “diseases know no borders” and the highly-transmissible omicron variant has shown that “any feeling of safety can change in a moment.”

WHO's weekly epidemiological report, released late Tuesday, showed that case counts fell 17% worldwide over the last week, including a 50% decline in the United States, while deaths globally declined 7%.

“Depending on where you live, it might feel like the COVID-19 pandemic is almost over, or, it might feel like it is at its worst," Tedros said. “But wherever you live, COVID isn’t finished with us."

Come on GOP.  Make abolishing Medicare a part of your party platform.  Those old people are just freeloaders!

It's been a goal they've been working towards for 40 years.

No, they aren't proposing legislation (right now) that will flat out say "Medicare is eliminated effective Sept 1st".

Nope. But they absolutely do intend to "Obamacare it" - to break it and underfund it and make providers ration it. Until people give up on it.

It's one of the goals behind their decades-long pattern of:

1):  When gaining power, immediately slash taxes on the rich, and increase defense spending.

2):  When losing power, suddenly notice this deficit that just seems to be here for on reason. And begin yelling really loud that somebody else needs to do something about this, right now.

2a):  And we're not saying that we demand cuts to SS, Medicare, or Medicaid. We're just saying that any other way of reducing the deficit is unacceptable.

In warning to U.S., COVID rates soar after Denmark lifts all restrictions

At the beginning of February, Denmark became the first major country to lift the last of its COVID-19 restrictions and effectively declare its part in the pandemic over.

Around the world, and especially in the United States, Denmark’s “liberation” from indoor mask mandates, vaccine passports and nightclub closures was heralded as a watershed moment — the shape of things to come. Democratic governors across the U.S. started rescinding their own mask rules a few days later.

“This marks the transition to a new era for all of us, because Denmark will once again be an open society, completely open,” said Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. “We dare to believe that we are now through the critical phase."

Since then, however, Denmark has continued to record more COVID-19 cases per capita than nearly anywhere else in the world, and both COVID hospitalizations and deaths have shot up by about a third.

“Not looking good in Denmark,” Dr. Eric Topol, founder and director of the Scripps Translational Institute, tweeted Sunday, sharing several charts that terminated in near-vertical upward lines. “Deaths are now 67% of peak, with a steep ascent.”

“The world is looking to Denmark as a guide to removing all restrictions,” Topol added in a subsequent tweet, “and it seems that we've seen this movie before.”

What does even mean?  Were they trying to kill off the US population? Russia has like a 49& vaccination rate. Are there not enough anti vaccine campaigns in the US?

Yes. And no.

Fwiw Russia did the same disinformation thing with AIDS in the US during the 1980s.

49%?  So you’re saying our anti-vax efforts in Russia have been successful?

Yes.  I’m fairly certain their low rate is due to them reading my comments in this thread.  Your welcome.

I don’t know which intentions you had with this, but… yeah my guess is we definitely have and likely still do engage in the exact same stuff where we choose to.

It was meant only half in jest.  I’m sure the USA has dabbled in nearly every type of propaganda over the past 80 years.

But, let’s be honest…slimy, discount psyops trash like anti-vax stuff is right in the Soviet/KGB wheelhouse.  Right from the get-go and up to present day.  No other society in human history has foisted more ridiculous bull**** on the world.

California changes its COVID strategy and announces a plan to live with the virus

California became the first state to formally shift to an "endemic" approach to the coronavirus with Gov. Gavin Newsom's announcement Thursday of a plan that emphasizes prevention and quick reaction to outbreaks over mandated masking and business shutdowns.

The milestone, nearly two years in the making, envisions a return to a more normal existence with the help of a variety of initiatives and billions in new spending to more quickly spot surges or variants, add health care workers, stockpile tests and push back against false claims and other misinformation.

"We are moving past the crisis phase into a phase where we will work to live with this virus," he said during a news conference from a state warehouse brimming with pandemic supplies in Fontana, east of Los Angeles.
