Captain Wiggles
Raphael Ravenscrofts alto sax solo is legendary even tho he himself didn't like it at all. 🤣

Jazzman being one fave example, and Floyd's Money or Tina's We Don't Need Another Hero. But then you already know this.😁

skinsmarydu
My brother was in marching band, parents were on the board. A great horn section is everything...KC & The Sunshine Band? Phil Collins used the Earth, Wind & Fire crew.

Them 3 badasses wearing band uniforms in the Police's Synchronicity video (taped here at the Omni when it still existed) were the best inspiration ever. (For the record, I was in HS when that album came out...I was in concert choir touring the British Isles, we played it on the "coach" constantly.) So when I saw the video just a few days before going in the Navy, I was reaching out and receiving recommendation letters for the Sea Chanters (USN Choir), which unfortunately required a BA to even audition. 1
Captain Wiggles
My go to era for great horn solos will always be the 1950s. Probably cuz my dad's such a big 50s fan and I grew up in the 80s when it all had a big resurgence. Flux capacitors and whatnot. Also Little Richard had two of the best sax players in the business.
