Portis N Pals
Reed to me was almost as wonderful a surprise this year as Morris was last year. However I was very worried about how his concussion kept him out of the last 4 or 5 games. Any reports on how's he is doing now? Do you think he was kinda shut down for the same reason RG3 was or he just could NOT make it back due to the concussion symptoms? Because he missed the Dallas game during week 16, started to worry it really was a serious injury and NOT just shutting him down for a meaningless game. Anyone have any thoughts or info here? KingGibbs
Haven't heard anything but TE is an area we need to address because I have a feeling that Reed's career will be cut short. Real short. It's a shame if that happens because he's a great talent.

It's a shame if that happens because he's a great talent. What the hell are you even talking about. OK he was out a few weeks. We were out of the playoffs and really didn't need to rush him back to play in those games. He is an absolute beast and I expect him to break out huge next year. You could say that about every player. Oh.... Trent Williams career will be cut short. Real Short. Makes no sense and you have nothing to back it up. Plus Fred might stick sooooo I think Reed and Davis are pretty formidable at TE. There are obvious areas we need to adress such as C, RG, RT, WR, KR, SS, FS, CB, MLB. Hazel-Ra
Wasn't this last concussion his third, including college? I wonder if A:Can the relationship with Davis be repaired, and B: Should it? Since he spent so much time in Shanahan's proverbial dog house, he never really got a chance to show what he had, but if he was THAT much of a weapon, I doubt even Shanahan would have been THAT mule headed....would he??? Anyway, some news on Reed would be great, especially if it's positive.
Dark Acre
Jarrett, do you have any idea that he was out with concussions? Have you ever had one? Are you aware of the trauma they are causing former players? "What the hell are you even talking about."? Reed's condition is a legitimate concern. JarrettS13
I'm pretty sure Desean Jackson has at least 3. He is still a baller. Everyone in the NFL gets concussions. BTW, I have had one
kiingspadee
I think they were also sitting him to not risk anything significant

I believe KingGibbs was refering to his concussion history as for why his carreer could be cut short. If was indeed out for 4 games because he could not pass the NFL concussion protocol then it could be bad news going forward.

Hazel-Ra
nah, I don't watch football.... Well you certainly don't appear to absorb anything media related going on outside of the game. This concussion issue is a pretty big deal that isn't going away, so some us are a little concerned that one of the few bright spots from last season is already in danger of becoming a casualty of the new reality in the NFL. Hazel-Ra
One can hope. Griffin jokingly referred to taking sliding lessons from the Nats. I think he really should because his current technique looks awkward at best.

Bantu
Geez... It is not about the fact that he has had serious concussion issues this year that concerns me. Many players have fought back from that to have long careers. Reed is not going to play long because he is a wimp! It seemed like every time he got hit after making a play, he pulled himself out of the game. I remember listening to Chris Cooley on the radio and he was raving about Reed, but he didn't think he was tough enough to endure all the hits. He said this awhile back, just when the season was getting started.

He was in Shanahams dog house too, we gave up on him let him go for nothing in return and he has been the starting RG for San Diego this season and doing very good too I might add. Fred Davis is and will be a big factor in next seasons offense. Shamaham kept him out because he didn't want him to play 10 games and get his bonus of 500,000.00. By doing that he hurt our offense big time and it's just another example of his gross incompetence. Shamaham is complete control freak narcissistic jackass. With that in mind I wouldn't be surprised to see LeRibus come back next season with a whole new attitude and enthusiasm. Ditto with Tom Compton, Gettis. I expect a lot of offensive players getting better under the Gruden tutelage. Geez... It is not about the fact that he has had serious concussion issues this year that concerns me. The same was said about Fred Davis but he has become very strong after the catch....So.
NoCalMike
Hasn't it not just been concussions though? It seems like Reed is one of those players who can put in a good half of football, before one of his body parts decides playing football is not for him. Fred Davis is a free agent. We have no idea if he will be back yet.

Didn't pay enough attention to him to see if he was winning most of the one on one battles, but I did notice that I didn't really ever hear his name called out for the wrong reasons! DogofWar1
Info from rotoworld on Reed seems positive for next year. Obviously any further concussions would be bad, and possibly career threatening, but at the moment it looks like he'll be back. Redskins placed TE Jordan Reed on injured reserve with a concussion, ending his season. FOX Sports reported last Thursday that Reed would be shut down for the season. Coach Mike Shanahan said the team made the decision after a concussion specialist recommended Reed not practice for at least another three weeks. It's worth noting that Reed suffered two concussions in college. It's a scary situation, but at least for now, there's no reason to believe we're in Jahvid Best territory. Reed should be ready for the Redskins' offseason program. An ascendant player before his concussion knocked him out in Week 11, Reed finishes his rookie year with 45 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns in nine games. He'll return as a TE1 in 2014. LetThePointsSoar
Wow, this very legitimate thread turned a little silly. Portis N Pals
It worries me that no one in Redskins park has really commented about him. I'd like to know that he's symptom free. He was still having issues a month later. To me, that's cause for concern. I'm praying this kid puts it behind him and has a long career. This offense NEEDS him!
