The experience. Big history nerd and going to games I always feel like I'm a part of history. That's why I always shoot for the most historic events (MJ with the Wiz, Wall debut, Strasburg debut, Harper debut, Nats playoff games, etc). Also the atmosphere. Being around other fans of the same team as you. And some sports are just that much better in person (all of them really, save football) What don't you like most about live sporting events? Well the cost. And the transportation issues I guess. Not really any complaints with anything outside of Skins games. Then the question should really be, what do you like about the event--answer: not much. Do you live in the vicinity of your favorite team(s)? Yes Does winning effect rather you go to a sporting event or not? Of course. Already got a few tickets to some Wiz games this year. Thankfully they're later on in the season when things may be looking up, and at least Wall will be back. If they were now, I'd struggle to bring myself to go. Do you take kids to live sporting events? N/A Are you a college student? Grad. Have gone with many college students. How do you obtain your tickets? Season ticket holder Website (ticket master, stub hub, etc...) Free Tickets (job, contest, family/friend, etc...) Friends, family and stubhub. I do not live in the vicinity of my favorite teams Typically winning does not effect my attendance. Although I passed up a couple opportunities to go to games in the Zorn era because I was so disgusted and realized it was going to be a waste of money. I don't have children, so I don't take kids to the events. If I did have children, I would take them. Not a college student Obtain tickets through websites or are free from friends. Just a simple survey on attending live sporting events.I picked this topic because I seen a lot of people on here complain about FedEx and whatnot, so I am just trying to throw some numbers behind it. The only people that will see this is the people here on ES and the people who decide to show up to my class... The Orioles are my favorite team, driving from NoVA to OPACY sucks. Driving to Fed Ex sucks. Parking at Nats stadium is ridiculous and taking the metro is awful. Do you live in the vicinity of your favorite team(s)? Sure, I suppose. None are right down the street but if I decide to see a game I don't have to make overnight accommodations to get there. Tailgating! And enjoying the crowd atmosphere! Also, Enter Sandman in Lane Stadium, fo sho. What don't you like most about live sporting events? $8 beers. Seriously, the prices inside the stadium are stupid. Also, being able to closely watch the games and not having rewind. And media time outs. Do you live in the vicinity of your favorite team(s)?
