dsciambi
Via Twitter: Filed to ESPN: Arizona will sign WR Larry Fitzgerald to a record 8-year, $120 million deal that includes close to $50 million guaranteed. How mad must Boldin be?
DM72
I know he's in the top 3, but that's an awful lot for a WR.

Dukes and Skins
Been saying it on twitter, its unreal that he got that much money. Although it also makes sense he got money like that considering he had a lot of leverage after they traded for Kolb and he reworked the deal to make sure he's not franchised
bushwack
Via Twitter:How mad must Boldin be? I don't see why Boldin would be mad. Fitzgerald is one of a few elite receivers in the game today who is in his prime, while Boldin is 3 years older and showed last year that he's not on Fitzgerald's level as a #1 WR. Also, in Fitz's 7 years in the NFL, he's missed only 4 games. He's about as consistent, dependable, and durable as they come.
SWFLSkins
Woowoo, that's alot of money. JGWentworth must be calling non-stop about now.

Santana_89
Well dayum !! Can't say Fitz doesn't deserve to get paid but $50 mil guaranteed??? Unreal. Will D Jax think he deserves that type $$ ..that's franchise qb $$ to a wide receiver wooooooooooow!!!!!
StillUnknown
Thats qb money. Love everything about Fitzgerald as a player, but I'm not sure any WR is worth that much money.
GhostofSparta
So is that the richest contract in NFL history?

Switchgear
It's a big number, but he's already got 7 years in the league. I can see him getting maybe 4 years of the deal, then either renegotiate or cut. So all that matters is what his cap hit is for the first 4 to 5 years of the contract. Tennessee is probably pissed though, this raises the bar for Chris Johnson.
BlueinBuf
I'm more focused on the 8 years than the money, that seems like a really long contract, have there been any other 8 year contracts?

I'm sure the Titans are pissed, but I would rather give this type of contract and amount of guaranteed money to a WR like Fitzgerald than I would a RB like Johnson. Johnson has maybe 5 to 6 elite years, if he's lucky, while Fitzgerald could play out this contract at the level he's currently at.
TheREALJBird
Well that's a lot, but he's deserving of a big payday, even if it's THAT much. He's the model of consistency, and besides, you know he isn't gonna quit on plays, games, players, coaches, etc...like some other people that get the $100 mil+ (see Haynesworth, Albert)
Spunkush
The thing about Fitzgerald is that he ain't a speed reciever, so it's not like once his legs go, his play goes. He's got a lot left and has proven to be successful no matter who throws to him. And if they can afford it, then by all means go ahead. I don't know anyother WR with better hands, hand-eye-coordination than Fitzgerald. He is also the best at the jump ball and a great team player
Boss_Hogg
You think this puts DeSean out of the Eagles' price range next year? absolutely. The Eagles spent a **** load of money this off season, however they could always put the franchise tag on #10.
SkinsTillIDie
Eagles were foolish not to get Desean Jackson locked up by now. Surely at this point, he'll accept nothing less than $30 million guaranteed?
Hiro
I know it's a lot of money ... but I actually think a guy like Fitzgerald is worth it. To me, he is the best receiver in the NFL, with Andre Johnson and Megatron coming close to his level of dominance. Fitzgerald is one of those few receivers who is nearly impossible to shut down. With the money thrown around these days for the guys who are truly the elite, like the Revis' and Asomughas, it comes as no surprise he'd command that amount.
