This is how seriously I'm taking this season.

Art, why commit the amount of funds to a nice size like that without going at least LCD? You best pray that the sun doesn't shine on that thing!!!

This. Plasma always burns out quick. You would have been better off getting a 58" LCD over a 65' Plasma. Oh well, glad to see that the passion is there for this season.

I agree, I think the skins can actually do well this year. Our defensive line and our linebacker core is stacked. We have pure talent on the D this year. On offense we have a revamped offensive line yet again, combined with brand new wide threats. I'm just worried about our QB/RB situation.

Guys.

Here are the facts as we know them.

1. Plasma has roughly a 100,000 hour life. People who remember the old plasmas think they burn out quickly. They last just as long as LCD.

2. Plasma refreshes at 600, while the best LCD, more expensive, is 240. Thus, Plasma experiences no motion blur. 240 LCD/LEDs have very little, granted.

3. Plasma has better blacks.

4. Plasma has better picture, period, as each pixel is basically it's own light source.

5. Plasma has better viewing angles.

6. Plasma is less expensive with more options and better performance.

7. Some plasma screens do wash out in light, but more, including this one, have anti-glare technology minimizing this.

In the end, after tons of research, I found LCDs are superior in bright rooms, for people prone to moving the things around as they weigh less, and for people who are very conscious of their carbon footprint who want to use less energy. If you have a dark room, you have no excuse to go with anything but Plasma for quality. At least until the OLED or whatever next gen stuff comes out in two to five years.

Plasma is a superior picture in every way, costs less and in my basement, is the only choice. Though the back sliding glass door lets some sun in I can always board that up to the dismay of my dogs. Redskins come first.

Talking to the people at Bestbuy supposedly the burn in problem has been solved with alot of the Plasma TV brands....plus you can get twice the TV for half the price (inches wise) if you go plasma. Take it for what its worth.

I have been looking at buying one of these types of TV's for about 2 years, but I just cant part with the money....Im sure I will eventually get one but thats alot of money for a TV

Exactly. Because this thread could have easily been retitled "This is how serious I enjoy my porn!"

Seriously, Die Hard. Technology is an amazing thing. I view my porn straight off the net. Maybe it's time you change in your Video Tape player, huh?

Haha, I hope you can still make some games this year, Art. All the TV technology in the world still won't let you hear the band play in its entirety or smell those grills in the parking lot.
