I'm still surprised the Bills drafted him in the first place, seems like a tweener ... but admit I don't know much about him though.

If he gets cut, it's worth a shot. He was taken just a few spots above Orakpo, so we know he's young. And if he comes in free (as in, no picks) for an incentive-laden contract, I don't see why not.

While both might suck, Russell is lazy, unmotivated, undisciplined, and a headcase. That's a pretty huge difference, IMHO.

True. But those things are correctable, possibly.

It can be argued that Maybin is just untalented. That could be just as true as what you said above, and its something that can't be said about Russell.

If Aaron Maybin is out of position at OLB in a 3-4 defense then he has no position. He certainly isn't a 4-3 DE.

While I am no way saying it would be a good idea to bring in Russell. The same was true about Mike Williams and he had a decent year in Seattle.

Unfortunately, he seems to be a failure as both a 3-4 OLB and a 4-3 DE. I could see someone bringing him into camp for a look-see, but I wouldn't expect much.
